i see the bump on xray and the break . but im wonder if you are taking any calcium tablet to help that healing of the bone if not buy some and not the cheap crap stuff. just a thought i would be taking them. struggling with a knee and ankle at moment. love you blogs good luck with the leg.

It's the best thing for your leg Lee. Get it strong and let it repair itself properly. The road racing will be there next year and you'll be back stronger and fitter than before.

Absolutely gutted for you Lee 😢 That’s such a blow after everything you’ve been through and how hard you’ve worked to get fit after last time. The main thing is you’re still here and of course there’s always next time, but I totally sympathise with how tough it must be to be missing out.
In a few years this will be a memory and a story to tell and you'll be back racing. Keep your head up! Glad you are an announcer on the TT. I think you have your post-racing career lined up nicely :)

It's tough to pin everything on a making a couple events then have to wait to heal up properly and then just miss it. A tremendous amount of pressure to be there both internally and externally but down deep you know not making theses events is the right thing to do. Now some of the pressure is off because making it is out of your hands and your just waiting to be cleared and start training and riding so you can do it properly.
It a shame you won’t make the IOMTT . But it’s better to be safe. And let your leg heal properly. So you can race the rest of the season better than struggling with your leg. Wish you all the best Lee. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
So gutted for you. Wishing you the best. I had a bike crash 25 years ago that left me disabled and it so hard to except missing out on my planned life. Keep pushing but being sensible is a hard balancing act. Your fans are right behind you. It was great to hear you commentating on NW 200.

I expected this news when I saw the state of the leg while you were doing commentary at NW200… which I think you are a golden addition to the commentary team… you did great 👍 The most important thing is to get yourself well, I’d have hated to see you try and rush back and cause yourself more damage… or try and ride the TT injured 🤕

Another one who loved listening to you on the North West coverage mate. And as horrible as it sounds, you can push the limit of recovery but you cannot force it, Hutchy and his leg is testament to that i feel. PS Jessies drawing was bloody awesome!!! 😀

Lee, many moons ago I had 24 weeks in traction with a fractured femur just above the knee, and then 9 months in a full-leg caliper. Absolute pain in the arse. Keep a record of every good experience once all the framework and screws come out. It will made a great vlog. And wait until you actually run for the first time. You’ll have a grin a mile wide and all of the irritations will fade away in the rear view mirror.
Lee, I have been in a wheelchair (old rugby injury) for 25 years now, so I can empathise with your situation. But I also want to thank you for the brutally honest way you have described and approached your own mental health challenges here. I wasn’t so honest to start off with, even with myself, and suffered because of that. I am really hoping we all get to see you riding competitively again. For myself; I have a team preparing a Subaru so I can compete in a hillclimb next year. I am determined not to be there just to make up the numbers, but we are out to win the class! Even aged 61, the competitive spirit remains!

Better to be 100 percent for next season instead of risking it now. Plus your commentary on the NW was fantastic. If they've got any sense they'll sign you up for the TT instead of the usual box ticking muppets we're subjected to.

Pheww, never thought I would say Lee & common sense in the same sentence, But you know hand on heart its the right call, As i said the other week, Plan for the S100 ? & the Classic Manx, Maybe Whit will let you run the YZR alongside the RC 45 ? Theres always another race to compete in, But only one person to do so, And you cant do that if you hurt yourself seriously !! There is no possible way that you can compete with a broken bone with as little density as on that x ray without risking losing your leg entirely. Know it's a massive BIG deal not riding at the TT but health before EVERYTHING. Get some other income happening, signature bike gear, cloths, aftershave, energy drinks, more vintage race bike builds whatever. Health first.
Bad news your missing the TT , But I think it`s a blessing in disguise. Your skills on the bike won`t be razor sharp because you have had now track time etc.I also think the fractures are still delicate at this stage and you would only be agravating them more, further slowing down the quailty of the healing process. It was great seeing and hearing you on the north west 200 commentary team and the banter was superb between you and them old fella`s 🤣 Perhaps the IOMTT maybe be in touch,It would be great to see you get a spot on there commentary team while you recover, OH The suzuki RGV looks grand is it a 250?? proper smart is that. Bugger. But health wise for the best. You all lost two years to the Covid crap. Then you missed 23 through injury. Now 24 as well. Hard pill to swallow. You and your team invest so much time and effort into the preparation. Amazed you can put it into words on camera. We all feel for you.
I feel for you Lee, and I saw the disappointment in your face. I spent 7 months on crutches, twice! (none load bearing) after bone grafts, because of a crash at Oulton. The crutches were thrown across the room a few times. Chin-up mucker. You`ll be back even stronger!

You still have all the fans respect for you for the previous years thrilling and off this planet riding 👏 👏 In the meantime keep the vlogs coming they're as and when you have the time they're a real eye opener and of course health and family comes 1st 👍 As a curiosity question what sprockets gearing do you use on the Triumph 765 RS and what tire pressures PSI do you you use on the track and also for the IOM TT/NW 200? Also does the fuel you use have any damaging wear on the engines/injector/carb seals like E5 or E10 can have on some older or newer bikes fueling systems that can make it harder to start even causing corrosion to the rubber seals/O-rings... Or do you use magic O-rings 😁 Anyway fella I as so many thank you and all for your time and energy into making these vlogs and posting them out may the wind always be in your backs and the road to recovery not such a lengthy one and no short shifting it. I had a RGV250 VJ21when I was 25 one of the best bikes I've ever owned👌 gutted for you about the TT Lee I truly am but your heath is more important to you and your future, if you fcuk that leg up you might not be able to kick a ball about the back garden with Jesse and that would be devastating lee your only young and there will be more TT's, let that leg heal good n strong! Annoying as it might be, asking those around to help with the little things is a great way for them to demonstrate how much love they have for you in only the way special family and friends can. They will feel your frustration and feel frustrating there isn't even more they could do. Been that, done that when my wife got Breast cancer ( survived, thankfully). Love the drawing too - missed seeing you at the TT lsat year but hopefully 2025. Stay safe. Love the vids, needless to say. And enjoying your radio commentary too. Thanks for sharing.
I shattered my Tib / Fib racing years ago, 8 months after the original reconstruction the plates broke and I had to start again. All up I was on crutches for over a year. Don't worry about missing the racing just get healed up properly and you'll be back just as strong. It takes it out of you healing from an injury like this physically and mentally, work and home life suffers.
So sorry its so fucking crazy after two COVID years to have two more years off TT is so sad. You re so strong and such an inspiration. All those bikes preparation and all goes for next year after next. 😢 I wish you a proper recovery and go race the southern 100❤
