This is not a normal installation. That driveway is normally saw cut and the cable hidden in a track and filled in. If the internet was confirmed working in the property and your computer won't connect it that doesn't make any sense and was never addressed. Which it could have been but it seems like the engineer who visited didn't look into why your computer wasnt connecting to a working internet service. Both the outside cable and the connection issue could have been resolved but you cancelled before there was an opportunity to fix the issues. If you're loyal to BT, why change?
When mine was installed, VM dug the front garden up and even went under a tree root. They went about 2ft down with the tube and put the cables in. They also cut a groove in concrete and repaired that. It's your responsibility to connect your own phones and computers up and they always make sure they work before they go. They are subcontractors, so do a good job. It sounds like you changed your mind after inconveniencing everyone and causing them financial loss for the installation. Lots of people seem to think if they just turn something off or remove wires that it somehow means they no longer want something. That is not correct. Well done for managing to cancel VM, but it's best to be honest and say you made the wrong choice and have changed your mind. Remember, lots of people have installations and know what happens...
I've been with VM for alont time and each time i've moved, they fitted my internet up, the internet with VM is always up unless they've had an issue which don't happen that often, but they do deal with it asap, even when the council cut my wires by redoing our drive they sent a tech out that evening, and the internet is fast as Foook xD, have fun xD
It isn't really! It just shows someone that made a poor choice, inconvenienced others, cost a company a lot of money, then admitted he changed his mind after trying to make excuses, instead of just saying he changed his mind. It is always best to be honest as it makes someone look bad if they do all the excuses and then tell the truth. No one has any respect for them. Lots of people have VM installed and know the suggestions made are not correct, they are completely misleading. VM even make sure your computer, phone or tablet can connect and will set it up for you. They spend far more time with people that say they are less able to manage. I am no fan of VM as I had lots of trouble trying to leave after 15yrs. I know many neighbours, friends and colleagues that all had decent installations completed by contractors.
Everyone moans and bitches about their service when it don't work. Well, here is a rare case, I love Virgin's speeds and T.V. Service, never had an issue and although on the expensive side, worth every penny.
yep, installer left the cable management outside the house to me cos he couldnt be bothered to tack it to the wall.. im n ow using plastic conduit to give teh cables someprotection on the side of the house... got about 3 medium thickness coax wires coming out of a very fragile brown plastic box containing coax splitters...im just stickingthe coinduit using stickyback strips to hold it in place while i put a line of caulk either side to hold it.. fairly strong adhesion.. no need for tacks or nails at all... btw.... had to dig the trench in the soil patches myselfcos they barely dig under the turf ...it is bad... installers are literally a bunch of nobs
