im starting an airline called "i'll take my chances" basically you turn up, get on the plane, it takes off, no security or anything, if it blows up it blows up
You could expand on the idea. You know those "surprise movie nights" in cinemas, where you don't know what movie will play? How about having surprise destinations for your airline? So, if I book a ticket and board the plane, I might end up in Prague or Kairo or Madrid or Timbuktu. Also, for flying back, I have to wait until the next time a flight coincidentialy lands at whatever airport your airline kicked me out.
After years of pleading he finally got me to sign up for nebula, if I don't get a brick documentary I will be extremely disappointed Update: There was what was kind of a brick documentary however I personally didn't really enjoy it, found it kinda boring, no offence Sam
Oh God what have you done? On the high end RU-vid has a cost per view for ads of $.03. Nebula's ads are probably around that too. Nebula is $3/month. You have cursed us to view their add 100 more times.
It hasn't affected me yet 2020: Took 7 flights 2021: Took 1 flight 2022: Took 11 flights Total 33,000 miles flying, I have also made vlogs of my flights on my channel, if interested do check those out
Welcome to the Wendover international HAIRport. If you're scheduled to fly on Barber Flight #307 we apologise sincerely but your flight has been canceled. Just take a bowl and do it yourself.
Fun fact; the long line of letters he wrote after 'HALTU KJAFTI' (which translates to shut up) is actually the longest word in the icelandic language and not just a cat sitting on a keyboard. I just thought I should point that out. Kudos for actually going the extra mile there on an effort which only Icelanders would be able to appreciate

I'm not so sure... Coronavirus may have caused a lot of countries to impose severe restrictions on air travel. But air traffic isn't really affected. Airlines can still run the planes empty, and so they do because of the bailouts. Corona isn't a disruption to air traffic, it is however a severe reduction in demand for air travel. Only event that was similar to the Eyfjallajökull eruption in the 2000's was the 9/11 attacks where all air traffic going to, from and internally in the US was grounded. COMPLETELY.
@@RealCadde Airplanes may havent stopped flying in America, however if u look at europes airtravel before and after u can see that its dramatically decreased and the amount of money lost due to corona have forced many people to loose their jobs and airlines to go bankrupt
Minhazul I.K.L no, it’s because if you mention COVID you get demonetized by youtube. Also how does someone liking trump mean they don’t believe in COVID
I live right under the final approach to Glasgow airport, my parents were away on holiday at the time, and got stranded in the Canary Islands on holiday, they had to fly back into Manchester and get a bus to Glasgow (they were not happy as they were only told this once they got back into the air). I remember watching all the Iceland Air flights coming in, as they were pretty much the only flights coming in at the time, my flatmate and I were sat with a beer in the balcony watching it. While there were operating in and out of Glasgow they were some of the only flights operating, so it was till very quiet around the airport during it
Hahaha. It kinda sucks though. I never flew on WOW air, but the Delta flight I usually take to Keflavik doubled in price since they went out of business. Supply and demand. I used to get friends to go with me to Reykjavik for long weekends at one time. Now nobody will go because they think it's too expensive a flight.
I am one of the mean Icelanders and at 1:49 the comment says: SHUT UP, Vaðlaheiði ( a hill in Northern Iceland) Mountain-road-construction-tool-storage-shack-door-keychain-ring. witch is a joke longest word in icelandic.
@@jeffbenton6183 is probably isn't an official word, just something to show you can make infinitely long words. We have the same thing in Dutch. Kinda sad that you can't do that in English since you can't like stick words to each other. You could easily expand this with something like metal-factory-mechanic-jacket-pocket etc.
5:06 - "speaking of catastrophes, the first ever Half as Interesting Nebula Original will be releasing next week". The last thing you'd want amidst the pandemic
That's what I thought and I'm not even Icelandic. Incidentally, the final part of the name "kul" comes from the Icelandic word meaning "COOL!" very apt considering the frigid nature of this volcano.
I remember this well. My family lived in Germany at the time and I was in the US going to university. My father was in the US on business and my mother was in Morocco with some friends on holiday. My mother had to fly to Madrid as those were the only flights available and had to take a bus to Germany as flying the rest of the way was obviously impossible and trains were full. A very unique ending to an otherwise wonderful holiday.
We got stuck in Istanbul on a layover on a school trip to Asia. Literally got an extra weeks holiday in Turkey on the Airlines dime, 5* hotels & great weather. Cheers ekgjkgjkgjktjkyh
guys i endorsed human rights for chinese citizens and now a yellow honey loving bear and two nicely dressed men with breifcases are at the door how epic 😎😎
Just to be a bit picky: Kilauea volcano was erupting continuously from 1983-2018 with phases of higher activity now and then. After the 3 month long 2018 phase that destroyed a large chunk of the Leilani housing estate, it stopped erupting completely. (For now at least!)
I was working in London and travelling home to the US every other weekend during the volcano eruption. The only weekend I didn't make it home was the first weekend, but for a month or a bit more I'd have to figure out how exactly I'd get home and back as tons of flights were cancelled even after the first week. Was interesting though sitting in the hotel lounge listening to people considering taking the QE2 from the UK to the US.
And speculatively booked flights, then cancelled when not shut people booked, the claimed covid/government to try to escape EU cancellation penalty payouts...
Iceland Air is nice. Great connexting flight, and they let you stay in the country a couple days during the layover. Also fun audiobooks about Vikings.
How do you have live human babies in your engine? "Full thrust please" "I can't' sir" "Why the hell not pilot?" "There are live human babies in the engines preventing them from spinning up." (Over intercom) "Sorry folks our flight will have to be delayed a few hours, due to the fact we now have to get a full toxicology report on our co-pilot here, as he appears to be either tripping on some drug or experiencing a mental breakdown of some sort". (Begins to think he can hear the babies crying inside the engines too)(Starts to sweat 😰
The movie "Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga" was set in Iceland. Edit: I know you all have been looking at flights to Húsavík (the town, where the movie was set) don't even lie
If Eya-fieckly-yockle (as the BBC mispronounced it) erupts again I will instantly take the week off work to go travelling, because it will mean I can travel more easily without having to patronise the airline industry.
oh fun fact my dad was on a business trip to europe when this happened which meant that my mom had to deal with four-year-old me having an ear infection on her own because his flight got messed up
i did a case study for this eruption in year 10 geography and i never thought i’d need to hear the horrendous mess of a word that is eyjafjallajokull pronounced again
Scottish guy here. I remember this vividly. We remember our friends to the north and and east of us. I think honestly we are more akin to Scandinavian countries and Iceland than people think lol.
What are the freaking chances. My friend had a picture of a cool ice cave on his laptop. I asked him where it was from and he said IDK. 40 minutes later I'm watching this video and you end up telling me it's in Scotland. 🤯
I remember that something like half a dozen artists had to cancel their Coachella performances because they were stuck in Europe and couldn't make it over to the US.
when the icelandic volcano erupted and grounded european flights, my sister had to get a several day bus back from the south of spain to the north of england. i do not envy her
We were stranded in India on our way back from Thailand to the UK and the people we were travelling with didn't have indian Visa and we were trapped in the airport for 2 days before the airline gave us a free flight to Abu Dhabi where we stayed at a family friends house
