Giving characters a "diversity" score is one of the most backwards bullshit I've seen from the gaming industry. Aren't we supposed to be done with judging people based on their outward appearance?
Ah, but what you don't understand is that it is all fabricated to target the white race. The white race you are supposed to hate, discriminate, and destroy.
What planet are you on? Literally no one is done judging people by their outward appearance... That is explicitly what intersectional identity politics is predicated on. The problem with those stories though is that it ends there and doesn't always continue to show these places end up getting rebuilt because there's no such thing as utopia IRL. We create dystopian-society-ending stories because they've happened throughout history, but because humans are flawed and good intentions can lead to not-so-good results, sometimes the people that tore down the old dystopian civilization unintentionally builds a new one IRL...

That is exactly how I found him also. Watched a few more vids and was like “this man is literally saying all of my thoughts/concerns about modern media in last two years.” In fact, I’ve started watching more and more Kdramas on Netflix simply because the characters and story are just plain better at this point than anything new coming out from the west. I've been keeping an eye on this whole "modern audience" thing in both games and movies and even music for quite a while now out of curiosity, which then turned to attention and then a realization that all this was just nothing more than a large virtue signalling operation to increase the stock value of said ESG-controlled companies. Thanks for covering this man. For a while I thought I was crazy but a lot more people, especially big content creators and industry insiders, have been saying the same thing. Like you said in the video, some of my favorite franchises that I grew up with have been slowly bastardized and destroyed in pursuit this wild goose chase that is the "modern audience." It saddening but I'm having hope that some of the companies heralding these franchises are starting to realize what a big mistake this whole thing is.

Maybe you've heard about The World Economic forums and their influence on society at large. There are alot of big players who joined its committee, for example, China's President Xi Jinping.
After halo reach went out the door the gaming space has never been the same. It was actually very weird how much a space had changed in such little time.
It started when 343 promoted that for halo 4 they hired people who didn't care about or straight up hated the halo franchise. And we all bought it as a good thing
I think everything you said here is spot on, and I think we're starting to reach a major turning point. I've been talking about this stuff with friends who don't pay attention to this stuff for years, and with how crap a lot of their franchises are becoming, they're finally starting to hear me out on it. A lot of people, even some younger ones, just don't find this stuff entertaining whatsoever. All of this stuff flopping and ideas contrary to the mainstream popping up in popularity have to be a good sign. I don't think even some of these massive corporations can stand to have their audiences rejecting. their products forever.
I'm seeing this same turn as well but at the end of the day it's up to the individual to do their part. Once this is all said and done, we'll win and they'll lose. The L's being taken by the corpos are piling up by the day and it's gonna be ugly once it falls but it will get better.

And on this subject, RU-vid's algorithms are so bad, that I often must used DuckDuckGo to look for RU-vid video's, instead of search on top, as was normal in the past.
I'd say you're braver than most RU-vidrs as they tend to either have their heads in the sand or actively avoid this issue. By the time they do speak up it's actually too late. More people DO need to hear this as it's affecting every sphere of entertainment, whether it's games, movies, comics, etc. This is why I stay with older works or look for independent alternatives free from the stink of ESG/SJW.

You somehow managed to actually downplay the social credit system. It is far more punishing. For example If your credit is too low you kids are not allowed into certain school. If yours is too low you are not allowed to shop in certain areas.

I absolutely love this video. The things you talk about don't have an iota of misinformation or "conspiracy" in them. It's all cold hard facts. In the UK, our government gives grants and tax breaks to game studios. They use a points -based system for determining if the game "represents their values" enough. As a result, Blizzard hasn't paid any taxes in the UK for years

I've been a gamer since my Super Nintendo days, I've seen many game companies fall from grace like Blizzard, Ubisoft and EA. The games they develop are both woke and worthless, If they continue this path, it will contribute to they're downfall, some of us gamers who remember how it was, How much fun it was to play a good high quality game like Skyrim, Dead Space and God of War, nowadays some games have gone down hill. Don't forget that when games have no rewards/no trophies for difficulties (like GoWR, or HFW) its basically instilling this mindset into players that they are all equal even if one player has to play on easy- and one plays on the hardest- they enforce this mindset of "oh youre just as good as them" and when people try to explain how they arnt equal and that its clear one player is better than the other. That mindset gets weaponised against you as people insult you as a gate-keeper and toxic gamer elite etc Its literally the gaming equal of communism, and there are people who demand that if someone else can do it in the game. That they should be able to aswell- Theres a deeply rooted system in place with newer games and this type of "difficulty doesnt matter" mindset It literally pushes the idea that you deserve nothing extra even if you are great at the game , and that those not as good as you, deserve just as much as you.
I game watch reruns of old shows and watch Anime now but before covid I never cared about Anime I was looking forward to Marvel phase 4 at the time but not anymore I wouldn't piss on the marvel brand if it was on fire.

I love how Blizzard can pat itself on the back for having a rich and diverse cast of characters in a game like Overwatch while abusing their female staff behind closed doors at the same time.

Also as a Overwatch 2 player I didn't notice this honestly. I actually like Kiriko and Soujorn but only because they are fun. I think it is really a problem when creators try to make a character to serve an agenda. That's not saying a character bein black or female is bad but it is bad when not genuine
Even saying games back in the day were better is just the objective truth. Up until about 2012 games stopped being innovative. There hasn't been one new game released that has an AI more functional or dynamic than the Euphoria system Rockstar used in GTA IV. It's just sad.
yep.. sadly most characters in games these days are here to fill up diversity checkboxes rather than for any artistic reason, and it SHOWS. And some new games ARE good (and for the AI exemple, just look at the AI in The Forest, its really something else, learning from its interactions with the player in a way that feels smart and natural), its just that you shouldnt expect them from big companies, and even less from terminal cases of sequelitis.

@@EndymionTv I'm unsure if it is on audiobook. But I gotta warn you, the book is hard to read sometimes. The author goes over what happened to people in the gulags, and it's really bad. I've taken 3 breaks reading the book because of the grim content.
Sadly, the what we're are complaining about constantly and many of the things he discusses in his videos are not the result of just those three things but capitalism and extreme far right tendencies too. So yeah, those three things taken to the extreme are bad, but the current system we live in is way worse than those ever were. You are not currently being censored by communism but by companies and systems happening in a purely capitalist world, so careful were you put yourself in that list. We are not the good guys. There are no good guys. Not saying China or any other country is precisely helping, but failing to notice there are problems far closer to home is really bad. We are not suffering for something someone from outside is trying to impose on us but because people who swore to protect us and be on our side are doing the exact same thing. And I'm not talking about politics or parties at all, but a general world tendency that's really going in a bad direction everywhere you live.

This is to ‘end all discrimination against women’. Many large corporations have openly committed to these SDGs, as in doing so they get big chunks of cash.
Take an example: Blizzard Activision. You can look for the page where this is stated: ‘Steering Committee - which I chair - to set our company’s ESG strategy, practices and policy, along with a cross-functional, enterprise-wide working group to identify ESG matters most relevant to our business.’ What it comes down to is funding, money, especially now when due to economic crisis more of these companies have become desperate financially.

Bruh, it’s been years since I’ve heard a video make so much sense I thought in should subscribe to them. That just happened. You actually managed to take all the bs in media and politics and relate it back to how its effecting our games when it really shouldn’t be.
