A dedicated ministry for pollution. Environment pollution should be added to union list, key decisions regarding pollution should be taken by center, to avoid collision between states. People should be made aware about wood and garbage burning, especially the young ones. Non conventional sources of energy should be encouraged. A collective effort should be put in to end the practice of stubble burning.

Its funny that priority of govt is not to make air breathable in Delhi, but not to be the worst in the world. AQI is bad throughout the year except monsoons, but govt takes quick fix steps only around October. Stubble burning apart, garbage burning, construction, and industries are very large part of this pollution all round the year and people know the ways to mitigate without reducing output. Yet, the inertia is whats causing such great harm.

Initiatives in electric vehicle promotions, its better people like you & me take measures today to develop a healthy society & contribute in every manner as possible ...... I'm damn sure government is working on an action plans to reduce each contributing factor.... but as far as fire crackers are concerned sooner or later it will be banned it is just matter of time

One of the long term solutions that any state government in india can do ia focus on clean/green tech and this doesnt mean you should invest solar panels every where it is a good solution for sure but it has a life span of about 20-25 years and there isnt a way to recycle them after that, i dont remeber the company's name but there is a company that actually captures carbon or other toxic materials from the air and makes ink out of them we need more such innovation like these where you remove toxic materials from the air and make products out of it and sell them government should fund innovations like these provide them with mentorship to be crisp with their innovation

Umm it's a solution but it won't be able to much it will take years to build companies to that instead we can try to put stricter policies and really understand the issue,for example the problem in Delhi is not High amount of construction but how that construction is done,the bigger contributer is cars but we can't just stop cars if people would find incentive in not using a car then it would be better but still the challenge is that India is an aspirational country so no of vehicles will only grow in the coming years since we are developing we can't take away economic Betterment from people it's a major issue but it can be solved if we talk about it in the policies more and more

'Adding trees' is something which can be added to the nice solutions you have suggested. To bring greenery closer to urban population, Govt can plan for leaving land for greens in between built-up areas, similar to common playgrounds. This can be used to plant non-ornamental indigenous trees. To make up for the loss of land, high-rise buildings can be made instead of one's with a few floors. Contrary to the conventional beliefs, cities expanding vertically rather than horizontally are much better for the green cover. And they do not put additional pressure on the resources because ultimately the number of residents residing in the city remain the same. Instead of cutting more trees or filling lakes to build small buildings in the ever expanding cities, tall buildings with lakes and mini-forests in between will be a better idea, especially in newly expanding area. The same happens in Western world, with adequate trees planted in between tall buildings.

I live in a joint family. In my family there are total of about 3 LPG connection but none of us use them as the LPG price is too high for us to afford. Thus we use cow dung and tree branches for cooking.

All time weather monitoring boards should be extended in tier 2 cities as well. More synergy between bordering states for data sharing. New Bharat Stage norms for vehicles. Integrating Climate mitigation action ( subject ) mandatory in all school curriculum. Green socialism. - where local community takes ownership and responsibility for saving ecosystem. Cloud seeding for artifical rain ( like done in delhi) Reducing urban heat islands by creating artifical lakes. Reducing glass structure based buuldings as it traps heat accounting for greenhouse effect. To cover More beneficiaries under PM Ujjawala yojana. Social security coverage by health insurance companies especially for air borne diseases. Implement Honorable SC judgement to Ban fire crackers and only to use green crackers as alternative. Special cess should be collected on tolls for vehicles below BS 6 norms. Air protection should be added by constitutional amendment as a fundamental duty of a citizen. Thank you
