He was one of the first indian teachers in south africa. His children became teachers and so did there children. In the 80s my aunty got a job in england, shes an english teacher. Imagine a south african of indian origin teaching english people english. Lots of my cousins and nieces and nephews are also teachers. There’s a reason millions of people emigrate out of India to begin with. I'd often this this to my American friends and coworkers " Indians are nothing if not adaptable". Adaptability has been Indian diaspora's biggest strength. Moving half way across the world and starting afresh is not as easy as people make it look, but immigrants all over the world do that day-in & day-out. Indians just excel at that and take it to another level

Then there's the fact that indians in india lack opportunity to do much, rampant corruption, overpopulation, lack of education, poverty, economic divide, crime,etc. Indians do excel in the US because they adapt some american values like individualism and freedom and the thirst for money. Back in india it's impossible because of the hyper collectivist society and family oriented upbringing of indians. You'll find many mommy's boys and daddy's girls in india because they never developed as an adult.

@@manovrsb My ancestors were indentured labourers who had a hard time working in the fields and saving each and every penny. Of course, I'm never going to compare with slavery that black people had to go through but we weren't given preferential treatment when we landed in Mauritius. On the contrary, the Catholic Church and the Franco-Mauritian elite made sure their converted slaves got better education than us after the British took over. Today we, along with Chinese Mauritians, represent the new elite simply because we do better at school

@varoonnone7159 Год назад
@@manovrsb Accessibility is key, I agree. That said, culture matters a lot. Among coloured migrants in Mauritius, Chinese Mauritians did better than us Indo-Mauritians at school and took a lead. We later had to catch up. It's probably due to the fact that they had a general value system that placed great emphasis on academic education. That same emphasis was more fluctuant among Indian communities and somehow lacking among creole (black) Mauritians The 500 best candidates at the A levels are ranked each year. Chinese Mauritians who represent 3% of the population make up 9% of the best candidates. In contrast, creole Mauritians who make up 28% of the population make up 9% of the best candidates too. The same pattern of chinese children doing better than indian children and indian children doing better than black children can be seen elsewhere. Even in the West, Jews outsmart non Jews by a significant margin because of a solid academic culture. I think we can all learn from each other. I would like to see black children more interested in science. That's where scopes for upliftment resides. I live in France now and specific black communities here are adopting education as a medium of progress like the Cabo Verdians etc. Unfortunately religion sometimes hinders progress like in the case of Malians. The African diaspora is so vast, huge and diverse that generalisation is not possible but I notice that those in small tropical islands somehow have a more pleasant mentality

Or most of the Indians who go abroad, are extremely well educated, have assets in India that they can ultimately fall back on and benefitted heavily from societal changes post civil rights movement in parts of the western world. Even chinese and korean diaspora is supremely successful and in high places along with Indians, and they had the same advantages that Indians had when they arrived.

Pakistan sponsor some kashmiri and they become violent, its mostly pok side, also few in jammu Kashmir. This violent people are mostly radicalized in the name of religion. But slowly it improve.. Now incident are occurred rare. In the other hand khalistan, this people are also small threat, they destroyed indian images, wn every occasion they just come out and start chanting khalistan, this khalistani are very success to convert the mindsets of indian sikh. I live abroad, having many Sikh friends, they before very normal but now they give counter question while we opposed khalistani. Very few NRI sikh support india its true and few other also support but they can't openly say because either they are dependent of khalistan or fear of khalistani. Because khalistani has very strong network. In my profession many sikh people after amritpal incident many Sikh change mind set, they never say anything wrong to amritpal only give counter question why Hindustan. Thats why now i loses sikh friend but we have group Himachali utrakhand pahadi and few from up amd some nationalist from other's part of indian boys, who are very loyal. Jai Hind
