I'm a proud immigrant from India, working in Canada for many years. A practise Sikh faith and in our family, we still sing Vande Mataram, Aye mere Vatan Ke logo, Mile Sur Mera tumhara and India National anthem to our kids. Irrespective of the political Tamasha going on between India and Canada governments, I still believe that it's not a zero sum game and mostly everyone can benefit from a constructive relationship. Indian and especially Sikh community has been very helpful and receptive here so far. Hoping for a better future, together.

I am from bengal and bengal or vanga were known to be inventors of steel and build huge ships called Bojraa , we had silk route. we cultivated cotton and we are inventors of muslin and mulmul or malmal. all these were exported to western asia and europe , which is why they were fascinated to travel to the silk route, muslim persians gave the name muslin and jamdani , previously it was just called Dhakai. they were fascinated with our inventions bcoz of which they wanted to come to India. gujarat had a huge Port. maratha had trade relations with rome. kerala or karnataka exported spices to the world by means of ships. kaala paani is there in hinduism but still look at history. only problem that our ancestors did were, they allowed muslm rulers and europeans to built mosque, gave them land to settle here for trading purpose, that is where they took advantage of us coz we didnt know their evil intention. u can research on it. and also there was no united India. there were provinces independent of each other, that is why we could not unite against british, we have our share of mistakes too.
