Indian Education system has continued the processes set by British Empire. Times changes, our requirements changed but the education system still continues in the same form.
This has resulted in a lot of problems for our generation and a lot can be said about it. In this video, I have talked about some of those problems and their possible solutions.

Online college is a disaster 🙃. We literally do nothing all day and get 9 plus cpi. All clubs system have failed. So we can't access the only skill leaning platform present on campus 🥲.

When I was in 12th, all students got the task to make science projects for project exhibition, I make a working steam engine from useless items in just ₹500 and my classmates buy dead projects worth 5000. They all were mocking of my project until a IIT professor walk in who appreciated my work and take pictures of it. In the end, I won the 1st prize. 😊

That's what innovative thinking is. I remember my school days, whenever we were given and projects, all the classmates invest heavy amounts for that project and some even don't do it by themselves, they give the projects to be made by shops or other professionals which is actually being made by the students by utilising their thinking skills and scrap materials. Fortunately I wasn't that financially sound to afford such expenses and thus I did my projects using easily available and cheap scrap materials and made my projects. Although I didn't got full marks, l was always getting 60-65% and my teachers amd classmates didn't like my methods but I was self content that I did it by myself in a very less amount of time and money.

Nah mostly parents think Maths has many fields in future and it costs less fees in college And they think Biology costs too much fees and Commerce,arts has no jobs in future. When I was in Class 11th 80% of people took maths and I was also one of them But I took Maths bcz I had interest in it but I don't think that all the 80% people were interested in Maths.

My college almost failed me because I used an efficient method to solve all problems in my exam and not the inefficient method they taught. This system rewards inefficiency. They just want uniformity... want to make pupils carbon copies of one another.

I am in 10th right now; before the lockdown started I was practicing taekwondo and when the lockdown hit I developed an interest in art and drawings. But the moment I came in 10th everything changed, teachers started giving 5-7 page assignments daily, our tution teacher stopped giving us any holidays and eventually pressure build up was bad that it killed my interest in everything, everytime I think of drawing something I realize that I have an assignment to complete or an exam to revise for, every time I think of rejoining my tkd classes my tution teacher is like "we are having extra classes", "you can't take holidays in 10th" and he is so cunning that he knows my class timings and has adjusted the timetable so that it covers all of the batches. It's so fucking frustrating and I'm already bored of all of the shit

All the best for your upcoming boards. A little help from me: people are gonna be putting you under pressure. they will confuse you by saying "take commerce, take science", etc. Don't listen to those people. Choose the group that you like. You can also seek counselling if you want. Try to get good marks in math and science. Language doesn't matter but still try to get more than 80 or 85 percent. Good marks in Math and science allows you to take any group that you want to take. Bye - Bye!

Parents play a key role in this ,I don't say all but most of the parents aren't supportive after 10th std.....they just see other kids clearing NEET and JEE and want their kids to be like those "worshipped toppers"...... personally I loved astronomy but parents forced me to take PCB group after 10th because of some friends of mine were appearing for NEET

The only thing I remembered when I was in 1st class, my principal torn down my note book because I covered it with newspaper with picture of Sachin. That was a christian convent school where from books to socks we have to buy from principal office. Every year they change the books & uniform and may be water bottles so they can make money out of it. That was fucking disastrous.

The one good thing that came out of Covid is Online Classes. Many platforms are now giving online lectures and courses for free. You can learn skills and anything from Internet and this will really kill the old, colonial, capitalistic education system that's prevalent in India

"The boss is always right" ..this is the goal here. Macaulay and britishers wanted obedient labour for industrial revolution so they made this education system but now we need innovation...we need thousands of billion dollar startups...This system is an impediment to that

I failed in most subjects at school but still promoted. I was highly interested in how things worked, mostly toys, then programming, then science. I'm glad I didn't study at school or I'd be a machine like others.

Also I would like to cover some big caveats in NEP, like it doesn't account for various major issues which can govern quality of education such as : Lack of faculty requirement in institutions, Lack of quality and trained professors, Lack of time spent by teachers to focus on weak students and improving them, Lack of updated syllabus, Lack of proper laboratory equipments, Lack of will to completely revise practicals performed in colleges/senior classes (the practicals performed are usually decades old), No support for those who pursue vocational subjects as their career (not a single middle class boy would like to pursue carpentry/gardening/metal forgery as a skilled occupation even if these sound interesting to them, Edit 1 : Lastly the Lack of exploring a subject, as a teen we neither get that time nor the encouragement to explore/experiment with the subject or discuss things that are parallel to subject, but outside the diameter of our syllabus/curriculum.

Wow it's an amazing information you gave because I am an aspiraNt for upsc indian foreign service who failed in cbse exam and iitjee and i scored low in class 10 of cgpa 5.6 and i did science stream luckily and my class 12 percentage is 64.6% and my iitjee mains marks is 40 me as a guy who's not even eligible to do mba in IIM'S and not even in universities and private colleges and i did class 7 twice and failed in class 9th annual exam and retook the test and did 10th and i did graduation b.e in average engineering college and had standing arrears till 8th semester and passed out with low cgpa of second class of 6.19 I'm proud that i stand out of the crowd.so since i failed all the competitive exams i dint ssc test 2021 which means the lesson i learned is never get into the trap of (SCHOOL CBSE/HSC TOPPER IN CLASS 10&12 AND GRADUATED FROM IIT AND DID MBA FROM IIM'S)just for the sake of marriage this is the life lesson i learned and i am proud to be failure

I used to read one book a week. I have an immense passion for reading. I just like to deep dive in the books because it makes me the most alive. When I am reading I feel I am living the lives of the characters. I feel like I am sharing their miseries, their joys and their excitements. I also like public speaking and debating but after I joined an engg cource after 10th class. I have had hardly the time to pursue these passions of time even tho I am interested in the subjects I am studying. But I feel if they just focus on the practicality of the subjects rather than rote learning of the formulas and concepts it will be much more helpful.

I barely agree with you, like yeah English is just a language but in India if our own language is given prior, it leads to trauma. Like every state has her own language and ethnicity, atleast in North and Central India, most languages got roots form Hindi, but coming to North-East and South, each state got their own and in south india, if you dont know, priority is not at all given to Hindi. The only reason it is taught is that central govt. made it mandatory. So I think learn in our own language is good but it restricts ourselves to the locals itself.

Biggest problem of our education system is they promote us towards government jobs that is the reason why india is suffering from large scale unemployment Society,family, institutes,colleges they also do same thing Only way to make india superpower is to promote our youth toward business,startups. I am happy to see this government is promoting privatisation

But i think it has more to do with mindset of individual. What have been seen so far is within a family itself we got lot of discouragement, don't allow to pursue unconventional, risky path on a flip side even if family is supportive youth simply don't possess any big motivation or any goals at all. If that could change we certainly hope for better future
