I am a pilot and I am pretty sure the reason behind this is the 'behaviour' of our people. When we receive complains during a flight from foreign passengers , it is mostly against Indians who were either being loud or just plainly stalking them or disturbing them . Once in Australia I saw an Indian guy clicking pictures of girls in their bikinis and was later caught by the coastal guards. It is very easy to portray all of this in the name of discrimination but I firmly believe that an average Indian is not as civilised and well mannered as compared to others . This is not my inferiority complex , this is what I have witnessed...

I am a maharashtrian. As a tourist myself & my wife visited Tamilnadu & Kerala.During tour we met many other tourists from Maharashtra & North India. They were laughing,criticising Tamil people in the train, eataries for their accent,poor Hindi. This shows our mentality towards other cultures, language people. My relatives in USA,Canada told me that majority first generation nri, tourists behave in the same way in USA,Canada & airoplane.

Behavior of Indians, breaking of visa rules, seeking asylum, being loud, breaking rules and laws are the major factors.

France rejected my tourist visa even though I’ve traveled more than 4 countries and had sufficient bank balance and documents. It’s so embarrassing!

My husband and I (we are indians) went to Thailand recently and noticed some Indians behaving in an obnoxious manner towards the locals. I think this behavior might have contributed to a negative perception of Indians in the country. On the other hand, I also observed that Thai people were initially guarded towards me and my husband, but their attitude changed after we treated them kindly.

To get Indian VISA is also very difficult and bureaucratic. Also good civic sense among Indians is very rare.

Our bad habits is the main cause of our weak passports. Recently I visited Thailand with a travel agency with some group of people and some old uncles in our group were talking so loudly, breaking lines and even spitting and littering on the streets. It was really shameful for me 😞

As an Indian I have experiences of Indians behaving rudely. It just doesnt fix itself unless 2 or 3 generations pass by. And it all depends on how we behave in front of others. Another significant factor is how well we respect the culture of the country we visit.

This is a major problem for people going abroad

It's about discipline and etiquettes that most of us lacks. Talking loudly & playing songs on speaker in public places, breaking lines, spitting and throwing garbage everywhere are some of the bad habits we need to change. As a citizen, I request and try to restrict people from doing so whenever it is possible. I think we all should do that. This habits gets naturally carried away when someone go to foreign countries.

Have you ever stepped foot in Malaysia? It is 20 years ahead of India.

I am currently watching a video from Japan and can relate to what was said. The key takeaway is that we should follow rules and be kind to others. It is widely recognized in Japan that Indians are highly skilled in coding.

Our actual problem is our own people Most of us need to learn about personal space and manners and this is only possible by education and interaction with others.

Fun fact Kenya passport holders can travel Singapore visa free but Indians can't 😢

I’m an Indian student, studying at Cornell. I have a valid US study visa and still I got harassed by TSA. I applied for study visa to Austria because I have to go there for research and it’s such a pain (I had to miss two days of classes and had to submit several documents) and even then they have been extremely slow with the processing. I may end up missing the scientific conference that I have to attend because of this discrimination. Update: I got my visa cuz I got my friend to talk to the embassy people in German (he is fluent in it). It was a close call but I could make it to Spain and Austria for my summer projects. This was still a bad experience, I hope India's foreign policy can ameliorate these things slowly by rebranding the image of Indians.

The last part in this video about behaviour of some Indians in foreign is what need to show and highlighted. Many Indians don't care how they behave in foreign countries. This problem need to be highlighted.

Truly valuable info provided and someone staying in Singapore for many years now, I think a key point you addressed is that when we travel abroad our behaviour should reflect that we are brand ambassadors of our country. I truly agree with the point that breaking lines, talking loudly with zero respect to that country’s cultural ethos is seen and we really need to hold ourselves responsible and accountable! I used to be an Indian passport holder, but now I’m a Canadian passport holder. I can’t even explain the difference I face when traveling compared to before. Now when I visit Europe, they don’t even ask how long my stay is going to be or where I am staying. I hope one day every single person gets the same treatment regardless of their nationality. I know the struggle, so I never take my passport for granted.

Canadian here. We have a flood of Indian people moving to our country. Some of them are really nice, educated, hard-working, and well mannered. But my Indian friends tell me that most of them are only here for labor jobs and these are the ones that stalk white women and cause nuisance in Brampton and Surrey

The image of the country and its people. People of India must own it up. Being loud, jaywalking, spitting, disregard of laws, using travel visa or no visa to enter a country and overstaying there illegally. WE INDIANS DO IT!

We as Indians are also responsible for this. For example Australia just put some north indian states like Punjab Haryana UP and Gujrat in a high risk category because somehwere around 80% of the applicants are sending fake documents to apply for Visas and the one who do provide correct documents over stay their Visas or go illegal.

The fact that these people explain the topic very well in detail but still manage to keep the video short really makes this channel amazing .

we people do not admit that we pollute our country, we can't admit for other countries, this mindset has to be change, it takes time but I'm doing it.

1. Passport Ranking is the need of the hour - a short visit or tourist visa should not make us go through these many hurdles. 2. Internationally, we are bracketed under the category 'Indian' and it is necessary that we behave like the 'Travelling Ambassadors of the country'. We will get the respect we deserve then...and we can demand for it too..

last year I went to Phuket and there I booked a shared boat ride which used to go to different islands and Phuket being a tourist spot, many people were there from other countries but everyone was so lovely and well behaved but the only misbehaved ppl there were Indians and for some reason, they were proud of that. Not listening to the guide and passing comments to her and showing attitude without any reason and then Feeling proud like other people thinking they are very cool. Being an Indian I felt really really bad after seeing those losers.

We as individual while travelling abroad must ensure that we maintain highest level of dignity. We had gone for scuba diving in Thailand and had a Australian coach. She said we are first Indian she had met who were patient and sincerely learning without yelling, panicking and scratching her and having etiquettes to behave. She said that's why i am always reluctant to take indian learners This praise made us feel shameful

Thank you for covering both aspects of this issue. It is not that only others need to respect India but we, as Indians, too need to maintain a positive image of India when we travel abroad.

This is one of the reason I stopped my foreign travel for holidays totally. Instead I holiday in India itself.

My daughter is a UK citizen.....They have Visa free entry in 186 countries...She decided about US trip in the First week of August and they are back to UK after a 3 week US tour already when we are in the first week of September....

Reason: If we are given Visa ,we are ready to leave our country permanently due to our huge population and lack of opportunities. This is not the case in countries like Venezuela, Malaysia etc etc..

Hi guys, The main reason for us not being given the fair rights as other countries is because of many factors. One of the important factor being is the behavior of the people. Some people spoil our countries name and reputation by misbehaving in other countries (especially they think that they own everything). This creates a very bad image among foreigners and hence they lose respect towards us. As a Indian community, we need to respect other countries that we visit or stay as student or as an employee. I have been living in New Zealand for the past 10 years and have acquired New Zealand Citizenship. The main reason for me to get the citizenship and give up Indian passport was due to my bad experiences while travelling on Indian passport. To be frank, the experience were very distressing and thus I concentrated to get an overseas passport. For me a passport is just a booklet which helps me make my travelling easier rather than going through all the distress and drama. I do have huge soft corner for India and our fellow Indians. However, it will take a long time to improve the Indian Passport in the passport index. Have a good one!

In between Indonesia allowing Indian passports holders entered without visa, but since last 2-3 yrs Indian passports need visa. Why ???

I believe there may be hesitation to improve the visa situation due to concerns over potential brain drain and the accompanying challenges such as an increase in the issues of individuals stuck in foreign countries, including those who may get into jail due to lack of local laws or those residing there illegally.

Note the fact that Indians are also the people who do the highest donkeying. This is one of the biggest reason our passport is looked upon with a lot of questions. I’m studying in Australia and most of the Indian students come here just to work and not study.. This is the harsh truth and it hurts people like me who genuinely want to study but don’t get the right people around. We are always looked as someone who is here just to work and earn money and not to study. I have been laughed upon by my Indian friends because I’m focusing on my studies and not on earning money. Whenever i say, I’m here to get education and not earn money at the moment, they just laugh and make jokes about how rich I am. So it’s not easy to increase the ranking if the non genuine people keep getting visas while the genuine ones keep getting rejected.

I’ve travelled to more than 30 countries and all 7 continents in the last 1 year on an Indian passport and my biggest frustration while planning my travels have been to manage and coordinate with the dozens of visa issues! I just hate this problem about the Indian Passport. I have honestly felt like a slave in the last 1 year many times..

I recently traved to Egypt for vacation. Not only was i not eligible for visa on arrival but was also asked to get my passport stamped one more time after entering egypt .. i mean who wants to stay in egypt ??? And still they had such tough laws for an indian passport holder My german husband and daughter had literally no visa issues and ny husband was flabbergasted at the amount of paperwork we Indians need in order to travel. The cherry on top was that the reosrt we stayed at had a guest coordinator who asked me if indians eat unhygienic food. She apparently saw tiktok videos of indian street food which was all cooked without gloves and stained nails. I felt so low standing there and trying to explain not all of india eats like this. But at the same time i myself know that these videos are all too real. I also experienced working with IT crowd that comes from india for short term projects. They dont even get haircuts to save money and their clothes smelled a lot too because of not using deo or simply not airing their apartments after cooking which is a must in western houses because they are too insulated. Some of the employees even complained about it to the HR. Even if indian passport becomes stronger it would probably not do much in terms of respect we get as indans abroad. Each of us represents our country when we are abroad so its a must that we act like we are from a civilised society before we even think of the passport rank.

Visa applications for Indian passport holders can be a nightmare because of the stringent documentation requirements and processing time. No matter how well you are prepared with the document, there are always some complications. I really hope this gets better.

@9:04 is a very important message. Feeling embarrassed in a foreign country because of uncivilized behavior by some of your fellow travelers, has become a common thing now-days. Definitely needs to improve. Remove all hurdles that is holding up India’s arrival on global stage as a leader 🙏

I think the passport power is mainly influenced by India’s government negotiation ability. The Indian government must be more focused on that issue for improvement to occur. Of course factors like spending power, criminality, good behavior and other attributes of Indian travelers and businessmen help negotiators get visa free travel.

What you said is very true…. When we go to abroad they look at us as indisciplined and messy hygiene habits we have naturally without giving us any benefit of doubt . Last week I was denied a visa for France. An the ironing in this is that I'm a French teacher since 3 decades. I was going with a group of other French teachers for a training program. All the other 22 participants from Delhi,Mumbai,Chennai and Bangalore got their visas and 3 from Mumbai were denied the same. We had an invite from a French national who was conducting our training. All participants gave a same documents to the Consulate except our personal account statement and ITR.

Gov is not giving attention to improve passport ranking because government is hoping that people should travel within India. It will help in improving local tourism and local economy.

Recently I visited Singapore and there were many formalities for taking visa entry.. But Singaporeans get free visa entry in 193 countries . We have to think about it Even Singapore is a country smaller than Delhi and got independent after India as approx 40 years later . We as Indian citizen have to think about it very coherently . 🤐

It's true the behaviour of people is real reason behind this

Hi Abhi and Niyu I am a frequent traveller (been to 66+ countries) and a travel blogger myself. You have missed THE MOST IMPORTANT factor that decides visa-free access - RECIPROCITY. This is the major reason that prevents visa free access for Indians. Most visa regimes work in reciprocation ie if you allow my citizens visa free access, I will provide the same for you in return. In case of India, till very recently India had a very tough visa application process which involved tons of documentation (including justifying your reason of travel, hotel bookings, return tickets, itinerary etc.), shitty long wait and very expensive visa fee. This came from a general governmental fear and mistrust regarding foreigners and their objective of visiting India. Therefore, most govt demanding strict visa regulations for Indians as well. A few years back, India enabled fast, cheap and easy e-visa (with no hotels and tickets demanded and almost 100% success) for many nations. In response, gradually many countries are reciprocating with e-visas, easier stamped visas and visa free access. I agree that the process can be expedited via diplomatic measures but that will still take time. For eg Russia (whose citizens get that India e-visa, since the start is yet to implement reciprocal e-visa to Indians despite the govt having very positive view on India and Indians and already many Indians going there and that's not because the Indian govt hasn't done anything to push it, just that Russian govt has been slow despite repeated promises of a strict implementation timeline and not just for the Indians, for multiple other nations too!). Comparing, the previlege on Ukrainian passport in relation to India and calling it a "White Previlege" to evoke the negative sentiment to help your video is either a poor judgement or lack of understanding. As I said, the positive change for India will take time despite all diplomatic efforts and same for the downgrade of Ukrainian passport. Again, for your due understanding, Ukrainians already don't get the visa free access they had in UAE and in Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. Many other countries are reconsidering their visa previlleges for Ukrainians too. The thing is simple - Any country wants "good" tourists to come in and by "good" I mean the ones who can spend well and those who don't overstay and seek employment. While the spending power of Indians is going up, we are still far behind in per capita incomes and these decisions are not taken based on number of billionaires a country has but the general average incomes of the masses and FYI Ukraine, despite the war still has better per capita income than India. And the other factor is the overstaying, that's the biggest problem with the Indians going abroad. I have personally met tons of Indians at the airports and land bordera of even the poorest of countries whose sole motive of being there was to cross over or to stay in X country illegally or without proper documentation and seek work. With that, no matter what the govt does, it would not help. Again an example, Serbia (in Europe) enabled one month visa free access to Indians, thanks to the efforts of Indian Ambassador to Serbia. Within three years, they had to close that! Reason - Too many Indians were using that entry to illegally cross into the Schengen Zone - so much so that not just the border control personnels but even the average Serbian citizen thought that an average Indian he saw walking across the street would be here for illegal crossing into the EU (experienced that negative sentiment myself personally while I was there). I even did a story on my channel of a guy I met while in Ukraine (yes the same Ukraine who is supposedly much worse than us according to you) who came into that "shitty fucked up" country of poor war ravaged white people (as the video seemed to portray) to cross over into Poland and was caught by the border guards of Ukraine and put into prison and those white guys were kind enough to let him go on a humanitarian grounds owing to his young age and not keep him incarcerated for the rest of his life. And yes, many Ukrainians are overstaying in other countries right now as they can't/don't wish to return home and emare even choosing to work illegally in their short term adopted homelands and this is already backfiring for them and would so so further in the future so it's not about being white but the kind of behaviour one exhibit as a tourist (following the rules of your visa status). Unfortunately, the poor behaviour of that small segment of overall Indian travelers, creates a very negative image and unfortunate difficulties for the others.

Indian Passport is week but our passport ranking is terrible. Malaysia is Developed county. I have visited there and Infrastructure is totally developed.

Indian passport's biggest problem has less to do withthe factors you mentioned. The biggest problem is that people 1. Abscond after entry 2. Overstay their stay decided by the immigration officers of that country. 3. Attempt entry using spurious visa documents.

I got goosebumps seeing video. Since me and my husband are working away from country, and we very well understand the importance the value of passport. Trust me it feels bad, looking at passport, as am Indian i feel proud.

Congratulations on such a great video. I’m in Australia and took a long while to decide and take Australian citizenship. Most of my friends who renounced Indian passport had this same valid point shared in your video that eventually convinced me. I also wish Indian visa and OCI formalities are all more flexible and Indian external affairs ministry strives towards strengthening Indian passport.

Even in the flight, our indian crew members are extra polite to the firangis and show very average behaviour to the fellow indian passengers. Whereas, in European flights I almost felt no difference in treatments when compared to the white people....

Maybe population is problem? Like everyone strt moving abroad the resources will be more in demand in that country?

Don't focus on visa We have much more travel destination than world... In every type of tourist destinations.. So guys take it as opportunity not the disappointing things.. Travel in India to make India strong 🙏
