Yup, so much thought put into the writing and animation. What makes it so great. Watched the series as a kid and didn't put much thought, cause I was a kid. But as I've grown up I've been thinking more about this series, how good the writing and story telling was, all the details and underlying messages used.
The third point is actually a really good point, considering the fire nation specifically tracked down Ursa to be Ozai’s wife because she was related to Roku, the previous avatar
Being completely honest, I think avatars power system makes the most sense on paper, but when you ask who is stronger and why you go insane. Zaheer was cool because he seemed to be almost a 4th wall breaking character, doing what all fans would do if you were given bending and learn the crazy stuff. There seemingly isn’t a reason why you can’t learn complex bending, without any help katara was a pretty bad bender, but with constant pushing and training she became a monster in a couple months.
Azula's fire is blue because she opens her Chi paths when she bends. She chi is very 'clean' , as told by the creators of Avatar..she has a lot of drive and focus.
I really do want to see those colorful fires. Wish Zuko did that in Avatar: The Last Airbender show I really wanted to see him use all those colors. But never happened against Azula and other firebenders. Just because Azula bends blue fire it doesn't mean she's powerful. Aang proved to be to much for the entire fire nation and Azula and Zuko with just only his Airbending. Azula just had a Lucky shot when she striked Aang with lightning.
personally, I don't think of it as "artificial" fire, it's more like just a different fuel source. The emotion fuel fire is like a gas flame which in most cases is red but certain types make it that color of blue, which is still natural but not likely to be seen in a world without man, while the "dragon" fire represents fire as you are likely to see it in a world without man because while unlikely certain chemicals could get mixed in a fire to change the color. P.S. none of what I said really matter, just some musings. Personally Azure blue is probably my favorite color, also I don't see why you couldn't take the "artificial" fire and temper it with the "real" fire (or vice versa). if you could balance them well enough there's no telling how powerful you could be.
I wonder if Zuko’s daughter is a strong bender? The royal family married for strength for years & since it’s hinted that he had a child with Mai who I don’t think is a bender I wonder how strong his daughter is.
Blue fire is not hotter than yellow fire. The color of a fire is related to the chemicals burning off at that point in a flame. The blue part of a candle flame happens to be hotter, as it is closer to the point of combustion, but it turns from blue to yellow because the chemicals that burn blue burn off quicker than those that burn yellow. This is likely also the case with whatever is combusting in Azula's flame.
Actually, blue flames are the hottest followed by white. After that, yellow, orange and red, etc. That's why blue stars are the hottest. But you are right; chemicals also make the fire different colours. So it's both; it's determined by the chemical makeup of the fuel and the temperature (colour or intensity of the colour). Hotter flames are generally brighter, and cooler flames are darker.
Because her fire is fueled with anger and she has so much anger bcs her mother and blue fire means its hotter so bcs of how much hatred and anger her fire is hotter and hotter= change of color
Seems we always forget that Azula also lost her mom too😢 just like Zuko...... just like Katara. And they were angry and in pain.& she too could be bending from that source....
True, but there’s a bit of a difference. Katara‘s mom died. Ursa left specifically to protect Zuko. Both Katara and Zuko at least had the knowledge that while their mothers were gone, they were always their mothers priority. Azula, on the other hand felt straight up abandoned. But the biggest key is what came after. Katara had her entire family to support and comfort her. Zuko may have suffered alone for some time, but when he was banished, he had Iroh. Azula had no one but her father. Katara and Zuko had some positive people around them to help him cope. Azula did not.. I’ve often wondered about her mental state. Zuko was described to have struggled with right and wrong because of his ancestry. I.e., Fire Lord Sozin, and avatar Roku. The prime examples of good and evil. But Azula shared that same ancestry. And during his banishment, Zuko was as much filled with anger and hatred Azula. But he overcame it. Why? Because of the teachings of Iroh and his newly formed friendship with team avatar. So I’ve often wondered, was Azula truly crazy, truly as mentally unstable as everyone believes. Or is she just as lost as Zuko was during his banishment? Because remember, during his years of anger and hatred, Zuko had uncle Iroh. Azula had Ozai. Two more perfect examples of good and evil. So if Azula had Iroh in her life, would she have been able to overcome her rage and hatred the way Zuko did? Is she truly lost? Or is she just screaming in the dark waiting for the light to find her?
@@gamesmastertobi29thanks for standing up to her alot of people don't understand her just because shes crule in the show they think she's her father daugther but she's just a broken child whos been abandoned by everyone around her (in her mind for zuko) no wonder her mind breaks poor girl 😢
Yeah. It's simple and maybe even "unfortunate" that it's this simple of a reason. Still, it worked out when looking at her character, it suits/fits her
To say that Azula's shade of blue is "unnatural" or "bad" I think is a little bit simple-minded. Also to say that it came from her rage... well, that may have contributed, but I think it's better to say that she was just plain *that good* at it. It wasn't unnatural in the sense that it was from rage rather than from the sun (although I think it was), it was unnatural simply in that you don't find that kind of perfect purity in nature. With few exceptions, nature abhors a straight line, or an ordered grid, or the perfectly uniform wavelength and/or pattern of a laser or LED, or other such forms of non-chaotic machine-perfect order. That does *not* mean that those things are *bad*, merely that they are created *purposefully*, *intelligently*, and *carefully*, rather than *randomly*. Also, such things *do* often win out over the natural, at least long enough to accomplish the goals for which they were created. In fact, they *usually* do, because they were *designed* to. Their creators intelligently measured and planned exactly what they would need in order to do their jobs, and gave them just that. The natural, in contrast, just does what it does, randomly and without purpose. You ask us to comment on what color our fire would be. I very much like the beauty of order. Not simple order, like what you get from someone with OCD, but complex intricate, well-defined order that showcases the genius of its creator. Once I got good enough, my fire would probably become what this video claims is impossible. Azure-blue--or even *white*--fire, powered traditionally by the sun. Energy drawn from the sun, and then concentrated, channeled, and ordered into a pure and beautiful expression.
Honestly I thought her firebending was blue because she's batshit crazy despite that she's actually one of my favorite characters not to mention the greatest threat to the Avatar but that's a conversation for another day
I support the theory of Azula discovering the Library of Wa Shi Ton and reading a book about the fingers' position changing the color and intensity of the flames. And, if you use a different finger position you get other colors too.
Azula is my favorite character. That's what happens when parents treat their one kid better than the other. I feel Azula's pain of not having the love of her mother but, it made for some extreme firebending skills I would die to have 😁
Azulas blue firebebdung explanation us that she is the child of prophesy from roku and sozin. Remeber thats why ursa was supposed to marry ozai for the prophesy strongest firebender which in result is azula but not zuko azula is the child of prophecy (roku and sozin) thats why she is and always be talented
As far as her mother goes, not really, every mother normally has a natural bond of love for their children, it was Ozai's manipulation have made Ursa scared of her, she can only show her love at a distance. Azula can only melt her heart once a hug is given as well as the word 'forgiveness' by her own mother when the time comes, I read a fanfiction for this. You can imagine her bending will slow down after love returns, like Lightning Bolt Zolt, from lightning, blue fire, red fire all the way to little fire left.
Bro thank you!!! -Scarred red flame brother (Zuko/Shoto) -Ego driven father that abused them (FL/Endeavor) -Both mothers abandoned them -Both have gone insane due to their imperfections -Both came from families of high status -Both try to kill their scarred brothers Among a long list of similarities...
Scientifically, blue fire is produced by either burning a specific material or by adding enough oxygen. The latter is called a perfect flame and will burn the hottest. It's really fitting for her perfectionistic personality. Also, a fun fact is her fitting name. It refers to the word Azure, which describes a shade of blue. The character was really well thought out!
So close, yet do far. Blue flames are far from the hottest. They also don’t always burn hotter than red flames. What really creates blue flames is pure fuel.
There was an episode that they mention Azulon. If I remember correctly, he was Sozen’s pappy. And that he also bent blue flames and that was where Azula gets it from. And the references to Azul being the color blue in Latin and Spanish, and they both have it as part of there names.
