@@StudMacher96 I felt that with some of the Souls games, i've played hundreds of hours of Dark Souls 3 and when I return to Dark Souls 1, the game feels very primitive.
My favorite thing about the Arkham games is that people who don’t really care for superheroes still love the games when they give it a try. It’s usually like 50/50 on Asylum because it’s the worst graphically of the games even when remastered and that throws some off but I’ve gotten non-fans to put days into city and knight - liking the game so much they would get into comics or at least Batman by the end.
This trilogy is a masterpiece for me. I played and completed every single one. There is so much love from the development team that knows about the universe of the Batman with subtle details and references (you probably saw the Flying Graysons poster in the Panessa Studios elevator if you are a fan of the comics) and even without the affect, these games are arguably awesome. Since i’m a heathen, I played the game with in my home language and I loved it. They gave the role for the French voice of the Joker to Jean-Pierre Moulin (oui oui baguette) who used to dub Mark Hamill in the Animated series and it threw me back all the way to childhood. And I apologize but I have to talk about the french voice of the scarecrow in AA and AK, Vincent Violette (who happened to voice Mickey), who’s doing a fantastic job at it. I get the critics at the bat-tank bits but I personally had a power trip destroying tanks. And even if AA didn’t age quit well for me, it included so many mechanics that it’s just a classic.
the fact that the barb wire that was wrapped around Jason that whole time, gave him a slouch when he stands and can see that throughout the game if you look closely is pretty damn cool
You can't ignore origins, some people don't like the game but it's apart of the series and a great overall game. I do however agree that this Batman is my favorite Batman
Origins wasn’t made by Rocksteady. That’s why alot of people refer to “The Arkham Trilogy”. Asylum, City, and Knight are all masterpieces, all made by Rocksteady. And all 3 were fantastic fun experiences ready to be enjoyed on the day they were released. Origins was made by WB Montreal and when it was released it was a damn near unplayable mess of game breaking, save files getting corrupted, ridiculously frustrating bugs. It took multiple patches over a couple months before it was finally streamlined enough to actually enjoy.
honestly i 100% stand with you knight is the best(best graphics, best gameplay, most badass and best batman ever) we got to play as everybody and my favorite part you get to tag team with nightwing my favorite robin this game just hits different for me, say wat u will about tanks but this is the definitive batman experience it does everything the other games did right but on a completely different level, if i were to list my fav games it would be knight, origins(really loved the rash, violent young batman, he's a rookie but a badass unstoppable rookie ), city and asylum
So you expected Gotham Knights to be better than the Arkham series? That's how it was supposed to be, but sadly Gotham Knights wasn't that good (haven't played it tho). Thanks for watcing and commenting!
@@MrEthos no i didn't expect it to be better but a decent game at least ! Well you are lucky because you haven't played it 😅 And you are welcome you have a great channel 🌺
Arkham Series Batman is the Best Batman of all Time ,Much better than the movie versions if there is crossover between dc / marvel avengers will have hard time to defeat Batman
Okay so, while I absolutely love the series and Arkham Knight, I did come up with a way they could have made Arkham Knight better. Scarecrow is still around trying to do exactly what he does in the game and Joker is trying to take over Batman’s mind. But instead of the militia, the mysterious Arkham Knight, former pawn of Rā’s Al Ghul, is now the only left to lead the League of Assassins and bring about Gotham’s reckoning. The League of Assassins have their entire army in Gotham to avenge their former leader. By the end of the game we learn the Arkham Knight is Jason Todd, who after dying at Joker’s hands, was resurrected by Rā’s and indoctrinated by him. After Jason becomes Red Hood, Deathstroke is left leading the League until the end of his side quest. Scarecrow and Joker’s stories go like normal except that Scarecrow was working with the League to get his revenge
That's an interesting way to approach it, it could work; the militia part was one of my least favorite parts about the story of AK, so replacing it with something more familiar like the League of Assassins could actually be something worthwhile.
I don't think that's because the character has no depth, but because the game's have a single tone to them. Arkham Batman has to stay serious and focused in each game, there's really no depth to be explored during the game's events
Arkham VR but not origins? I think thats a crime my dude, voice actors ignored origins is a Perfect depiction of a young and angry Bruce. Also its the only game which has a not terrible bane
I think this is the 10th comment about me "putting Arkham VR over Origins" when no, I did not; I briefly talked about Jason Todd's screams in VR but didn't cover either of the games due to time constraints. The visuals at the beginning of the video that list the Arkham Games, isn't mine; it's directly from Rocksteadys website.
Why does it matter if it's a Rocksteady game or not it's still an Arkham Game and you not including Origins in the video will only make new comers to the series think there was only 3 main titles in the franchise and if you had time to put the VR game in the video then you definitely had time to put Origins in it.
@@SauciestPrince6 I barely even covered VR, literally just mentioned the Jason Todd screaming hallucinations. I'm quite positive that new comers to the series will look up the games themselves, and find that Origins is also a part of the series.
You know what ìf it wasn't for Batman whose kn If it wasn't for Batman who knows how Gotham City will be cause the regular police in Gotham City couldn't handle The Joker Two Faces and Cat woman...... You Feel Me
Arkham Knight is a masterclass. Even most recent AAA games can't even compete on any level...(graphics, gameplay or story) I even love the Batmobile gameplay !
Here's my rankings: 4th: Asylum, don't get me wrong, it's a good game, but the boss fights, the overuse of Titans and to me it feels lackluster compared to the rest of the franchise. 3rd: Knight, yeah there's a lot of being in the tank, but here's the stats, you're in it less than 20% of the game, ultimately it's a great ending to the saga with an ending that makes you wonder (somewhat similar to the dark knight rises ending) 2nd: City, I should point this out that today it's 2nd, but tomorrow it could be 1st, that's how much I love the top 2, I cannot give enough praise to this game that hasn't been given already. 1st: Origins, right now I've put this above City due to the Freeze fight, yeah, City had a great one, but Origins had a whole DLC of building compared to I need to kill you
The aspect I love most about Arkham Batman is that Gotham is a city that creates monsters like Joker, Zsazz, Penguin, Clayface, Croc, Riddler, etc. But in this universe Batman is THE monster that the monsters are afraid of. Aside from Joker every other scum in Gotham is Terrified of the Dark Knight and what he stands for.
YESSSSS. I agree about Arkham Knight’s Scarecrow. If they ever brought this version to live action, given scarecrows stature and the fact that he wears a mask, John Noble could totally reprise his role!
I love the Arkham series. It feels like the main Batman games. It does an awesome job immersing you. The choice inn skins improves the experience so much. Going through the game as your favourite Batman... I only have a top 2 Batman games. Number one is the Arkham series, and number 2 is Batman (NES)
Your list is nice but idk why everyone is so toxic on knight like i get the tank stuff was over used and the story was predictable but the gameplay was so fun and if I have to be honest it is one of the best looking games I've seen and it was made on the same engine as asylum.I think a people are just a bit too harsh cause of the over use of the tank although I really enjoyed the Riddler stuff with it and it in general although a bit overused.hope this answers your question on why I love knight the most
@@amannivin1112 I know the tank battles weren’t overused. But they were literally so repetitive. Like I could care less about them. We’re supposed to play as Batman. Not a tank killing mercenary. Also the boss fights were dog water(Firefly Deathstroke, Deacon Blackfire) Plus some of the mechanics made the gameplay way too easy. Didn’t even require that much skill. Though I did enjoy the freedom
@@amannivin1112 I didn't mind the batmobile, in fact I liked the change of gameplay. What annoyed me was that out of 4 Arkham knight boss fights, 3 were in the batmobile. It was used too much in the story, would have been perfectly fine as a traversal tool and the occasional tank fight.
I thought asylum and Arkham knight were incredible Arkham knight being one of my favourite games ever the way Gotham is presented is fantastic the story was amazing and all the other side missions still remember absolutely shitting my pants first time i encountered manbat and having Conroy and Hamill was just fantastic
I watched it the whole way through and i enjoyed it except for 19:22 I feel like there's this weird ass Mandela effect when it comes to these games like nowhere in this game or any of it's media was it ever implied that Jason was SA'd during his torture at the asylum and I hate how wide spread that bullshit misinformation became so much so that people will argue that it's a fact without providing information
@@TooTurntTokyo yeah, I never thought of SA during the game, I personally don't think it's Joker's style (he was deliberately trying to break Jim when he did it to Barbara in the Killing Joke, so different goal, but I guess makes it an option), but I guess it's one of those, who knows what deranged forms of torture the Joker is performing that we don't get shown? thing.
I'm a bit late to this comment but this was just something that seemed plausible to me when I was making this video. There's no official info on Jason actually being SA'd and I should've been more clear on the fact that it was just a theory/speculation.
after replaying all games on pc in 4 days i can safely say: asylum and city sometimes have this weird thing when you press mouse button to counter the enemy and batman pulls out a batarang - asylum more than city that's annoying and the reason of 99% of times i got hit + you can't interrupt the animation. origins allowes you to interrupt the animation and counter the enemy right after doing a takedown but it has different problems like ground takedown not working sometimes "press LCtrl + RMB" and that can result in batman crouching adn pulling out whatever gadget you have selected and sometimes important things don't spawn, like being softlocked because black mask's drug contained doesn't spawn or entire room is just a black void but then again people complaina bout many problems wich i didn't had so i guess it wasn't that bad. and knight is where it is all refined to perfection - now, there was some talks about release being borderline unplayable but i don't know anything about that i don't buy on release. mechanics, graphics, physics, city everything. if there was ever a true "remaster" or "remake" they should take all arkham games and put them on technology of arkham knight and even better allowing us to play them in story order one after another.
let me explain, that little animation type thing with the titles are from Rocksteadys website. Rocksteady didn't make Origins, and i don't really know how to actually animate things so i just took what i had. I didn't put VR over Origins, this was simply a case of me taking something i thought looked cool from a website.
Am I the only one here that thinks the Mr Freeze boss is overrated? The boss is all substance, no style. Wow, you need to find different approaches to defeat the boss every single time. How exciting, especially for replayability when you know exactly what to do, and it will NEVER fail. Even Mr Freeze and Batman made a remark to make fun of how formulaic the boss "fight" is. Deathstroke boss in Arkham Origins is so much better. It is similar to Mr Freeze where the same trick won't work twice in a row, but the game does not feel the need to tell that to your face. Not to mention, it's engaging and full of style, and it's an actual FIGHT.
Freeze was definetely a gimmick fight, doesn't mean it's a bad fight at all though. Deathstroke was great though, but I don't think he's that incredible either. Thanks for the comment!
My ranking 1.batman Arkham origns 2.batman Arkham city 3.batman Arkham asylum 4.batman Arkham origns blackgate 5.batman Arkham knight my least favorite Arkham game and to me was a disappointment of a sequel.
Only thing I don’t like about knight is how underused scarecrow is, you are absolutely right he’s amazing everything about him is perfect but I need more screen time!!!
Well said! This is the definitive Batman for me as well. When I imagine Batman, what comes to my imagination is the Arkham batman with Kevin's voice. Apart from the obviously great combat mechanics and narrative, I mostly love how well they portrayed his detective aspects in the game. The crime scenes and planning can really take it to the next level. I wish the movies could capture this more. At the core, that's what he is.
Why VR and not Origins? VR is just a shorter version of City. Might as well have put Arkham City Armored Edition up there, as it is also a different version of City.
@@MrEthos I liked it for what it was when I first played it, but honestly the Origins fanboys ruined the game for me. They love to insert it into every conversation and act all superior about it. It's obnoxious. The trilogy itself is a masterpiece though, some of the best video games of the 21st century.
@@MrEthos or he could utilise batfleck properly since hes the most capable out of any live action batman to just be like Arkham Batman or the comic counterparts..... just look at the warehouse scene from BvS
I still think Knight is overrated. By far my least favorite of the franchise. The lack of bosses and the excessive use of the tankmobile combined with the predictable story and cliches of the title villain... really make me leave him after Origins for example because Origins still has at least interesting boss fights and a fun narrative.
As a arkham fan excluding unfarly arkham origins that actually is cannon despite you like it or not wichs i didnt fully understand that,"i respect the fact that someone just prefer the others instead it ,thats ok but, bashing the game with no reason at all ,just bothers me,cause at least is so great as the others ,and realy like the story as well ,just didnt apport nothing new cause that was reserve to the next generation I still love to see a origins remaster ,he deserved to be includet in the context of this epic saga
As an arkham fan and creator of this video, I didn't include it because of time constraints. It is canon and a big part of the story, but generally was a lesser game when compared to the other three.
I think you misunderstood why I didn't include Origins. I wanted to include Origins, but If I had included it I would have had to sacrifice one of the three other games or cover all of the games in a much more shallow way. I'll make an Origins video in the future.
Can you mention at what time I talked about that in the video? I remember saying he was tortured at the Asylum, which he was; but it was an abandoned wing.
Yup, there was a line said by someone in the series that Joker's goons would go to Jason's cell to "relieve themselves"... It's not 100% confirmed but it's heavily implied.
Batman is VERY restrained, he can easily kill somebody with a single punch. That's the whole inner-battle within Batman, he doesn't want to lose control.
I didn't... for the 100th time: I briefly mentioned VR when talking about Jason Todd, I didn't cover Arkham VR or Origins because I didn't have time to include them.
bro wdym? I briefly mentioned VR as an example of Jason's torture... and I already rushed this video like hell, so i didn't have time to talk about Origins or VR properly. Read the pinned comment.
I like knight its impressive as hell and fun for the most part but I think it just has so many things I didn't like as well the batmobile was just too too much I wanna do more batman more stealth action more bosses the game doesn't have any bosses And I didn't like that nearly all the characters like pinguin and two face and death stroke were all just side missions Also Croc and freeze and others were dlc for some reason
I think they put Croc and Freeze into the DLC side quest because the base campaign is already too packed with events for just one night. So, DLC side quests are happening the other night, IIRC. Deathstroke boss fight in Arkham Knight was really anticlimactic, though.
Idk what the fuss is about , just resently finished knight and as I recall the batmobile is yes used more that needed but I don't mind it ,in fact i found the Riddler races , riddles and the battles fun , except the stealth battles (not bad but I don't enjoy it as much as the the other stuff)
@@themonsterunderyourbed9408Ignoring how it played at launch because I have no idea how broken it truly was, it's a great game that arguably outdoes Rocksteady'd games. At least one or two of them
I love knight for combat, city I find the one I replay the most with it’s good story, asylum is just pure fun, origins is unique but not too different in a way, it has good aesthetics (nothing on asylum obvs) and imo the best boss fights. I love this game series and grew up with it since I was about 4/5 and these games have always had a special place in my heart. I think about these games all the time, when I think Batman, HE comes to mind. I have a poster of the origins wanted poster on my wall. I love Batman Arkham. 🥹
I would rank them as follows: 1. Arkham Knight 10/10 2. Arkham Origins 9.2/10 3. Arkham City 9/10 4. Arkham Asylum 8/10 Prolly one of the most consistent franchises in gaming and in my opinion the definitive non-comic iteration of Batman. I especially love the stealth mechanics in knight with how dynamic those sections are truly made with the addition of how much of the environment and your gadgets can be used to set up traps and when you combine those skills with the fear takedown you can do some of the shit you’d imagine Batman doing in the Nolan trilogy like him taking down an entire room of armed thugs within seconds by chaining environmental takedowns together with the fear takedowns, or setting a trap that takes down multiple enemies and the loudness of that trap brings a whole ass group together for you to do a fear takedown on. It’s just so sick and dynamic.
I disagree, I think the best one is Asylum. It was the original, absolutely groundbreaking and incredibly unique. Obviously sure, the later games improved on top of Asylum... but Asylum was the most consistent game by far. Again just an opinion, but out of them all Asylum had the least amount of flaws that I at least noticed.
