As someone who wanted Stroud I think you have to give Bryce a longer leash here. The line is getting their ass whooped 90% of the game, and the receivers just do not get open. I feel bad for him. You have to admit he has shown a lot of toughness and sportsmanship endure it so far.

He's a bust. He's just way too small. He looks terrible as a QB. When his guys get open he misses them anyway.
@wwbdwwbd

Panthers O-line is NFL average, and this is a fact beyond dispute. Bryce and Stroud have exactly the same amount of time (2.5 seconds) to throw before the pocket begins to collapse. In fact, Stroud is hit more frequently than Bryce, but Bryce is sacked more because he holds onto the ball for too long and he's easier to bring down. Remember, sack is more of a QB statistic than an O-line statistic.

I think you are correct. As many times as I've seen him hit, I'm surprised he isn't on injured reserves. His receivers do not get open often, they are just not very good at separating. Is that coaching? However, the last few weeks I've noticed he is missing open players and he never did that at Alabama. Is he already broken?

He’s a rookie…he’s also used to playing with really good teammates. Now, he’s having to make adjustments to the pace and style of play all the while playing with guys who probably aren’t up to the same caliber. Look at Will Levi’s having to play behind one of the poorest offensive lines in the NFL. He’ll grow and the team will be better for it.

He's used to playing with really good teammates?? Aren't up to the same caliber?? You do realize these are NFL PLAYERS right? Not Alabama college players. If he had the exact same offensive line he had in front of him as he did in college right now they would be slaughtered! ATL...Tampa Bay....NO. San Fran..defensive lines would have a field day. The bottom line is that he needs to adjust. He is already too small and was truly overrated at Alabama. Now he is being exposed. And Will Levi 🙄. Future backup QB in the NFL

He needs protection and receivers that can get separation and then catch the ball. He has neither. Can the staff fix this in the next few years? I wasn't expecting much the first year, so while disappointing it's not surprising to me. WAY too many issues around Bryce to put any of this solely on his head.

@SophisticatedBob
@SophisticatedBob 6 месяцев назад
First, Bryce is a finesse passer, in a league where QBs routinely have tiny windows, and big arms. Receivers in the NFL don't get the kinds of separation he saw in college. A "step" on the corners in the NFL is about all that can be expected, unless you have an elite speedster. Second, Bryce isn't fast or strong. He can't break tackles, he gets knocked down with just an arm. He can run, but not as a weapon on offense, mostly just when there's a broken play. And who would ask him to run anyway? At his size he'll get knocked out of the stadium. Third, he's small, and yes, it's an issue. He's more susceptible to not seeing lanes and getting balls batted down. Finally, there is NOTHING about him that is inspirational. He's a little man, in a big man's game. He does not appear to have the charisma to make people around him better. Alabama had recruiting classes that other colleges dream of, so Bryce played with more elite players than other teams. He's in the big boy NFL now, where everyone is elite or they didn't make into the league. He isn't behind a huge wall of offensive linemen, with elite receivers, on a team that plays inferior opponents over half the time. He's on a low-level NFL team, and he doesn't have anything, not one thing, that stands out as good enough to make this team better. Sorry, but he was a bad pick.

I dont think Btyce is bad but i hate how people always blame the weapons. Thats just the go to. Terrace Marshall, DJ Chark are both guys with very good size and speed. Thielen gets open easily with his route running but isnt the fastest. Hurst is a solid tight end. I watched Andy Dalton Look like a solid qb with this same team when bryce was out. He just needs to learn that the qb position at Bama is probably much easier than the NFL.

@davidlawrence8051 6 месяцев назад
@@naz17alyx How do you equate throwing the ball alot to winning? Most qbs who throw the ball that many times lose because it shows they have no run game. Adam thielen is a possession reciever and still gets open. When you get open due to route running getting old isn't a huge deal because speed was never his game. And by the way DJ chark was a thousand yard reciever and did it without a great qb. If he wasn't hurt he'd probably have another thousand yard season. Terrace Marshall averaged 17.5 yards per catch last year and had 500 yards recieving on only 28 catches playing with Sam Darnold and Baker.This year he has 18 catches for 134 yards at only 7 yards a catch. Why are his numbers much worse now? Anytime a qb people like doesn't do well we automatically say weapons and O line are the problem. Yet when Andy Dalton Starts the offense moves the ball with the same weapons and O line then what?

Bryce has the worst skill talent around him in the league, a bottom 2 o-line, and an archaic scheme with a non existent running game. The 2 pick sixes were absolutely on him and can’t happen, but I don’t know what anybody wants him to do. He’s getting pressure in his face before receivers are even hitting their breaks, half the routes are just receivers running to the sticks and turning around, no DB respects any receiver going deep so they’re just sitting on routes, there’s no use of motions/shifts to manufacture separation, and above all they traded away so much draft capital over the next few years that the talent around him likely won’t improve anytime soon.

Panthers were not one of the worse teams in the league prior to Young. They had the 9th pick. Chicago and Huston were the worst teams. There has been approximately 50 first round picks in the past 10 yrs at the QB position. About 15 of them are starters currently. That is a really high failure rate where they dont get to play 10 years. And of those about 10 are solid to very good players. Not a lot of them make it. They were all superstars in College. Panther PSL owner since 99. I'm gonna keep supporting Bryce, but it isn't just the team around him being awful (they are). The O line, the WR, and pitiful coaching arent helping him at all but he also isn't passing the eye test. Even good prospects on awful teams, pass the eye test. Bryce looks like a make a wish kid who asked for the right to start for a game. He doesn't look comfortable, he looks skittish, afraid to get hit again, and is developing happy feet. He's being David Carr'd except twice as fast due to his lack of size We should have taken Stroud

it’s really quite simple, terrible oline, no recievers, players don’t get open, terrible play calling, terrible coaching, terrible gm, terrible owner, no culture, and no one in carolina knows how to run a football team leaving bryce to have to make a near perfect throw every time. people who say he’s a bust don’t watch film

To be fair to Bryce, he has no offensive line and no receivers. I’m just hoping and praying it’s a Trevor Lawrence type situation where the Quarterback comes into such a shitty situation as a rookie it’s next to impossible for him to have success. When you compare him to Stroud right now though, I think you can’t not call Bryce a bust, at least for now.

Going number one in the NFL means going to the worst team. The worst team is worst for a reason. You won't have a good running back or wide receiver. You won't have a good offensive line or defense. Even the coach will be average at best. Going number one is like a death sentense.

This was a traditional last place team. This was a team knocking on the door of the playoffs with another win. They traded up for BY. We saw the offense look fresh and explosive under Dalton despite the OLs worst game of the year and Dalton having limited practice time with the starters. The defense gave up only 13 points in 3 straight games and the OL has been right around 15 in pressure percentage most of the year. BY just needs to step up.

Carolina, Chicago and Cleveland ruin good young QBs. They have for years. Bryce will be Can Newton, Colt McCoy and Baker Mayfield in a few years.
@ryemedia

This is a joke right? Cam Newton won an MVP he was the definition of a franchise QB. Moreover how is Colt McCoy even relevant in this conversation he is a below average QB who was a third round pick?

Buddy you do realize that careers end? Where is Tom Brady now? Where is any former franchise qb? You argument is so flawed on every level it’s embarrassing also it’s “Belichick” not “Belicheck” get your names right.

@@ryemedia Mathew stafford still has a career. Carolina cut Cam years ago because he wasn’t performing. New England pick him up and dropped him the same year. Not trying to argue with you, I just have a different viewpoint, that’s all. The RIGHT viewpoint. Adios amigo. And I’m NOT subscribed.
@ryemedia

Careers end it doesn’t take away from what people accomplished. By your logic every player who fell off due to age or injuries wouldn’t belong in the HOF. Cam carried the panthers franchise for years and took them to a super bowl and won the MVP the same year. Duration does not determine a players entire career. Your entitled to your viewpoint it’s just objectively wrong. And adios best of luck to you dude.

You say one of the worst teams which is crazy cause y’all really acting like we didn’t trade from 9 to 1. We was one game from playoffs with Tom Brady as qb in Tampa bay. So we wasn’t the best team but we was average and no we flat out suck and Bryce is the fault. Baker and Darnold and pj Walker are better options
