While China every day is making amazing progress, achieving real results in technology, country infrastructures, building a stronger nation for the people and improving the people lives. India jealous media is busy reporting negative reports of China and their boastful hype on their leadership and nation with not much real achievements. China has achieved incredible nation infrastructures developments, technologies, improving the life of their people and also assisting other third world poor countries. China continues to amaze everybody with their hard work and still be very humble. India it is always self-praise without much achievement but still very arrogance. In fact, it is so obvious to see these countries progressing and achievements for the last 30 or 40 years. In comparison it is like day and night. That is why many of India media channels are so jealous of China and keep mocking and bashing China with all the propaganda and fake news.
Europe imports plenty FROM China and it exports almost NOTHING to China. Furthermore, Europe must transfer their patents to China to have goods produced there. SO ... LET US SEE WHO IS GONNA LOSE THE MOST!
EU and other western countries cannot compete as they must apply to rules. As China gives a shit on rules (not yet starting talking about slavary or the entire human rights situation over there, but economically unfair restrications againt western companies) they easily can dump the price far below ours. This is not protectionism to the economy, butat the very end of the entire story it is protectionism against the freedom of speech! And this is hiiiighly welcome in my opinion. It's like our environmental problems. No one cares as no one really feels them (at least in the wealthy world). So currently no one cares about the huge issue speeking about china in respect to freedom of speech, as we don't feel it. We only see the low prices (which are not really much lower, but you know, you don't by for 4.98 if you get it for somewhere else for 4.97). However, this will back fire when we have empowered china with enough economical strength so they will tell us soon, how they want to set up the deals.
Europe imports plenty FROM China and it exports almost NOTHING to China. Furthermore, Europe must surrender their patents to China to have goods produced there. SO ... LET US SEE WHO IS GONNA LOSE THE MOST!
It's not about competition it's about China in violation of intellectual property rights and cheap raw material products which will risk any customer's life around the world.
For people who are not aware, China has surpassed Japan as the world's largest car exporter. Most of the Chinese cars are EV cars so the trend will continue for many years to come.
No it won't. It won't take long once EU Auto companies and Japanese auto companies start producing BEV in enough numbers to bump China mostly out of these markets because these citizens don't like Chinese companies or the CCP. A company like BYD will do well in Asia though. But here's the other part. You're saying "exporter". Japanese auto makers make vehicles all over the world. Those aren't exported vehicles. Toyota alone has 14 plants in the US. They have many more around the world. Those 14 plants in the US do different things, some build specific models, but they also manufacture the parts in the US. And you can look at all the popular Japanese auto makers that have high volume and they manufacture all over the world. Chinese auto makers have NOTHING like this. Also, most people in different countries still aren't buying BEV, especially the US. So regardless of the head start different Chinese companies have (except they have no advantage over Tesla), it doesn't matter. About 50% of BEV are on Chinese roads, so they are mostly for the Chinese market. Good for them. Go away troll and learn something.
If thats the case, why thd world is worry about Chinese EV cars? In fact, EV is only good for more developed countries, not for areas like Africa, South America or Sub-Continents. There are still big market for combustion engine cars globally. So, why the crying from EU?
EU raise the tariffs on the Chinese electric vehicles. That will force their citizens to pay more for the cars! China can likewise impose tariffs on European cars so the Chinese will not buy them. Do who will lose more😂
Europeans never complained about asian countries dumping them with cheap toys and cloths for decades. The moment we try to compete with them in higher value market segments, they cry foul.
If Europe really wants to meet net zero emission target, then they must make electric vehicle cheaper (subside) the industry. And thank China for doing so.
Impossible as no country analyzed their energy requirements before allowing EVs. EVs will collapse the current electrical infrastructure. Look at California the most "green state." You can't charge EVs half the day.
Subsidies are not good policy, it's wasting resources to target a specific industry, resources that are better left n the hands of the consumer to decide what they want to dedicate it to.
They literally have rules in place that you have to sell your product for a certain price . Which is CRAZY so the ppl HAVE TO PAY MORE ??? And there NOT ALLOWED to have cheaper options ?!?! WHAT

Do Indians see what is happening with China? The same same things will happen to India if India get to grow their economy. Europeans like it when they are the one to benefit, but when someone else is doing better than them then they complain.and try to change the rules.
EU is going down. In the end it's the European people who will end up paying more money to buy. Chinese will still flood the market with their EVs and sell it world wide with lesser price tag than European EV cars.
Exactly, Indians supporting US and the West are cucks. The same thing happening to China will happen to India in the future. Do Indians not remember when they were literally COLONIZED and made slaves by the Europeans?
During the past 15 years, China secured resources from africa, building highly efficient transportation routes, sea ports in african countries, and directly connects to industrial bases at home. At home China had built all the infrastructures, power stations, which helps manufacture with their cost. It all adds up, What EU had been doing for the past 15 years? nothing. 🤣🤣
no. Ban all chinese cars and ban all their phone apps and phones. Anything that has been massively subsidized should be banned and also everything the CCP bans from entering their market and everything the CCP uses to steal private data from EU citizens
Palki, didn't u said it last time during your time in WION chinese EV are cheap products and would not be accepted by international market. Now "cheap" becomes the reason for acceptance by international market. That's y your opinion is not important.
Why does it feel like BYD is going to be next Huawei. Everytime Chinese brings better or cheaper products, these government has to interfere. whats wrong with compition, when everyone knows it will help consumers at the end with lower prices and better products. And its not like chinese are forcing us to buy there products. We have the option to decide and choose. Dirty politics done by few selfish people and business men that will effect so many families from having better and affordable life.
And Germany should be careful with these talks, the consumer base they have in China is huge, what a shame it would be for their economy if the CCP did something about that.

Same is Australia - I suspect the Australian government has made it as difficult as possible for Chinese auto manufacturers and there is clearly some profit making involved. In addition, Australia is right hand drive, which adds to the cost. In Australia we are far behind as we had a decade of a coal loving government who felt EVs would spoil our "weekends"!!!!
The fact of the matter is German and EU car manufacturers cannot compete. There is a serious drop in demand for their vehicles price not withstanding. This us the reason they are complaining. Many of their top industries are experiencing significant decline.
Blame America to blew up North Stream pipeline which caused major cost of energy and inflation in Europe. While China and India enjoys relatively cheap energy. With high manufacturing cost in Europe, even Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam can out sell European manufcturing products.
@@merrick6484 yes then germans should blame themselves for being a fool to follow the US and keeping quiet when they know who is the Nord Stream culprit. In fact the EU leaders are fully responsible for this incident and what they have become today 😢

The Germans have shot themselves. Follow US and you’ll get hurt ALL the time. They are getting poorer by supporting a corrupt Ukraine. Also German cars are always more expensive than others and much much better, specially than American cars
so just overlook the massive subsidies and pretend they aren't there. Tell you what, the EU should have the same barriers as china and that would mean no EV and no phone apps and no phones and no everything else until they are produced inside the EU, on ground you have to rent, and we get to copy everything and then sell it in china.
Let's call a spade, a spade.... Can anyone here tell me WHICH COUNTRY doesn't & never subsidize its own domestic industries? The US? UK? France? Germany? Italy? Japan? South Korea? India? Australia? Canada? Etc, etc. Give me a break!
To make sure the steering wheel is on the opposite side of the car from the American version, guessing thats why?? I think China is doing a great job on the electronics i use daily, thank you people of China for all your hard work and great products.
Are you dumb or something? EVERYTHING is made in China. Even western branded stuff. They just sell it at ripoff prices due to brand name. Even if they make in usa or eu, all the components are still made in China, they just do final assembly so they can pretend it's not made in China lol.
The real issue for Europe (and the US) is that they expect and feel entitled to a higher living standard than the Chinese but without the productivity superiority required to justify it. In basic terms, higher wages for the same or less output. Although the cost of production is increasing in China as it develops, it is still greatly cheaper than in Europe - hence the move of German auto makers to China. The challenge for Von der Liar is that continued subsidies for an inefficient manufacturing sector is not sustainable. The brand name advantage will only last a certain period, particularly as this is a new product category. In any case, there is little difference between production subsidies and tariffs - they both distort market forces. In addition, as mentioned, China has one of the fastest growing markets for EVs. Europe will be shut out of it. The gap between the size of "Western" markets and the rest of the world is diminishing even for products categories like EVs. As such, the West may be shooting themselves in the foot. Essentially this is a difference in governing systems. In a centrally planned model, governments will direct investment strategically and this is often labelled as "subsidies". In a capitalist system, the market drives investment. The West have successfully forced the world to adhere to their system for a century. But it is hard to see it compete against a strategic centrally planned governing system. Capitalism works when you are wealthy and can exploit colonies and the poorer nations - for every winner there are many losers, typically the colonies. The poorer nations can escape this trap through collaboration and strategic investments from governments - as is the story of China.
China Government is subsidizing heavily China automobile industry. Without these subsidies, most China automobile manufacturers would have gone bankrupt.
Wrong! We are all connected. World problem is also Europe problem. Look into the massive waves of migrants Europe, specially EU must deal with, per example.
Oh please stop with your nonsense, the EU spend the most in investing in world problems. Per capita private citizens donate the most money to charities or set up projections for restorations.
Much as I love India I better not see Indian reporting accuse others of protectionism on cars with their literally 150% tariff on car imports lol. For reference the US' tariff is 2.5% (25% on trucks), and 10% in Europe.
Europe will close its markets to Chinese EVs, China will do the same to European EVs and flood the European market with Chinese EVs made by acquired European brands like Volvo and such. Europe is fu...ed 😮😅
I hope so , has a European I dont feal confortable seeing chinese brands in Europe , China is a Dictatorship !!! EU should only allow Brands from Democratic countries !!!
EU and USA cannot compete with CHina on EVs. China is already the largest car exporter in the world and has the most EVs sold. EU is doubling the price of Chinese EVs and in the USA there might e a 25% tax to protect American car manufacturers. This is only the beginning. China in 2023 has just began to push EVs globally and China will dominate like they do in solar panels (75%). If EU and USA push too hard, China will nationalizie their car manufacturers and the EU and USA are toast for good. This means EU, USA, and Japanese car makers will be kicked out. BYD is already out selling Telsa in Chna 2 to 1 and many more Chinese EV companies are coming up too. Its over for Germany, USA, and Japan. They can share like 40% and China will get at least 60% in 5 years.

@@ThomasHolm-xg5oqBs, Toyota recently came out with a report that the quality of China EVs are comparable to legacy autos, from economy to luxury. And the Wall St Journal stated likewise. It's those legacy brands who are playing catch-up.
China employs propaganda tactics against its neighboring countries, and if any nation falls for their influence, China might apply the same strategy to other countries. China has already occupied various territories, such as South Mongolia, Tibet, Turkistan, Hookien, Cantonia, Manchuria, Sichuan, and Dali. Currently, there are concerns about China's territorial ambitions, including the desire to control land and seas in regions like India, Taiwan, the West and East Philippine Seas, which encompass the Philippine Rise, certain islands and maritime zones in North and South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Laos, as well as several impoverished African nations. China aims to provide loans to corrupt governments in certain countries, such as Myanmar. These governments are influenced by Chinese propaganda, leading them to potentially cede control of their territories to China in the future. Additionally, China is involved in territorial acquisition efforts in Antarctica.
By the way, Chinese EV cars have very good price and quality ratio. Chinese realized that EV car is nothing but batteries with four wheels and a computer. And there are only 22 parts in an EV car. In comparison, there are 2200 parts in a combustion engine gas car. So it is very hard for a EV car to break other than batteries failure. And Chinese dominate the battery industry. Even Tesla is using Chinese batteries. Therefore, it is cost effective for Chinese to build EV cars, and load the cars with a lot of luxury features (yes, in case you have not noticed, all EU luxury items are actually manufactured in China too!). So you see, Chinese EV cars have all the conditions going their way to come up with a low price with high quality, even high luxury, EV car. And they did. They have DOEZENS of EV car makers now competing with even lower price and higher quality cars in Chinese domestic market. And these cars are exporting to EU and the rest of the world like a big wave.
all chinese products, regardless of the item, are all rubbish, disposable, cheap - not even a cent of quality. and the way china floods the market is to dominate and kill other makers so that later on they could raise their prices that is comparable to the current cost of other manufacturers, but minus the quality.
The labor cost difference between China and Europe alone is more than 20% difference. Chinese labor cost is only one third of Europe. This alone would more than explain the 20% difference in cost between Chinese and European EVs. Lithium is the most expensive component in EVS and since China has access to more lithium than Europeans it is natural for the EVs to be cheaper. Since most raw materials are imported and finished in China the cost of raw materials would also be cheaper. Having all components of an EV manufactured in China also lowers the cost of supply acquisition. The cost of a finish EV in China is probably cheaper by more than 20% than European EVs. But the cost difference between Chinese and European EVs is marked up to 20% to make more money for Chinese EV manufacturers. When import tariffs are too high it becomes a sanction because no one is going to buy the product. The Europeans would be at a loss because most people wouldn't be able to afford their expensive European EVs. If the import tariff is lowered and not prohibitive then it's basically a tax that every EV buyer will have to pay the government. This is just an excuse to charge taxpayers more taxes. And again this will also still prohibit lower income people from buying EVs. With less EV sales and more ICE vehicles, Europe will have to lift in the polluted smog that is a result of their tariff policy. In the USA,, Chinese EVs are imposed such a high import tariff that it basically sanctions or bands them. This is a loss for Americans as they have to pay for the high cost of gasoline and I'll have to breathe in the toxic smog when they have to resort to ICE vehicles. The fact of the matter is the low cost of Labor in China and the high manufacturing capacity of China makes it virtually impossible to compete against Chinese products if the quality are all the same. In the past when Chinese products qualities are inferior to Western countries competing with China is not a problem. But China has advanced technologically and in today Chinese products are just as good as Western products so it is impossible to out compete with China. These are the reasons why the West are demonizing China because they know that they just can't compete with China on a fair playing field. So who's the real demon, China or the Wests?
European products cannot compete with the Asian countries products on pricing. That's why there were a lot of factories in Asia due to the labour costs.
the labor costs are not the main costs of a car and in exchange, our quality is much better and based on technology we didn't steal. The difference here are the massive subsidies from china. And anyway, we shouldn't import anything from china. You want to sell, you have to produce them locally and on ground you have to rent. And we get to copy the technology (not that there is anything that wasn't stolen from us)

Europe has long used punitive trade measures to selectively restrict other countries. Just look at the trade embargoes imposed on Australia that have gone on for generations as one example of a country singled out by the EU for economic damage.
Australia is not innocent, they have long pursued the White Australia policy, massacred and discriminated against the indigenous people of Australia, sympathy for them is superfluous
@@johnjanssens8998 Huh? The EU stopped virtually all imports of commodities from Australia by 1972. The embargoes don’t have names, they’re instead punitive low quotas that reduce Australian commodity exports to Europe to such small tonnages as to make them irrelevant. Take lamb for example. The quota allocated annually by the EU to Australia is from nothing to a few thousand tonnes. A few thousand tonnes divided by 450.0M Europeans is less than a bite size morsel per person, per year. That’s just one embargo, and part of one of the longest running the world has known.

I beg to differ on this point. Europe is way behind in EV program and their companies compete. Even though no subsidies are not provided, Chinese labour is cheaper than that in the West. Recently, USA introduced massive subsidies to their companies in all sectors but instead investigating EU put on table their own subsidies program. So Europe should blame itself, they wake up when it's too late.
Consider the fact that there is a cost of living crisis in Europe, a consequence of their own policies against Russia, and yet they still expect their citizens to spend a lot more on buying overpriced European brands; at this rate it is still very likely that the auto brands the EU is trying to protect would still need to slash jobs to remain afloat or the EU would have to spend money it does not have to prop up businesses at risk of a default which is already being done across EU nations most notably in Germany and Italy, even Switzerland that claims to be independent of the EU but finds itself severely affected by EU economic policies. Imagine then sparking a trade war in such unfavorable conditions against the EU’s largest trading partner. All I can say is that the EU should brace itself for higher unemployment and higher poverty within its economic sphere of influence.

The future of a nation's common man workforce, and how well a nation's people live in the mid to late 21st century, is going to be entirely dependent on a nation's share of the high-tech, climate friendly markets. EVs and national charging networks are the foundation of a high-tech, high-wage future for the west's workers. The EU is going to try desperately to not have their workforce be left behind by the United States and China. As technology, AI and other such developments balloon, much of humanity is going to be left behind. Let's not be under any delusion, China no more desires to be left behind in this development than the United States or the EU. I suspect India's leadership is going to feel the same way. Their space program is proof of this. A nation without a Space program or an EV-AI foundation by mid-21st century is going to be the underdeveloped left behinds, and terribly exploited. Let no one fool you, this next advance of humanity will leave many behind.
Countries like Japan are not selling EV in North America - because of profitability etc. In Japan and Asia - EVs are not uncommon. Palki is right - it is their protectionism - they are giving car makers sweet time to catch up. Based on some comments - countries in Europe may have Toyota EVs. Though market in these European countries is equivalent to one province or state as compared to US, Canada or India. Also subsidies are the norm there as governments controls (not known for free markets or another kind of protectionism) all aspects of lives for commoners and still have left over from colonial gains to distribute. North American options are Tesla, Chevy volt and Nissan Leaf. North American leadership only have added taxes and funds so far for climate change and greenhouse gases control e.g J Trudeau 's carbon tax. Of course China is subsidizing their EV automakers, it's even stated in their internal financial reports. Without government subsidies, most EV makers in China would be losing money. Sure, the subsidies may hurt European autoworkers, but all European consumers benefit by the much lower price of Chinese imports. Having them will allow the transition into EV sooner and less expensive, which in the end provides a positive impact on the environment.
First, it should not be called as ´cheap cars‘, it should be called as ´affordable cars ´since not everyone, specially the general public, has monthly income like von der leyen who can afford any material things as her heart wishes. Europe‘s inflation makes everyone, except the riches like her, poorer, so the general public are forced to buy what they can afford, not what they desire. The problem is not the cars, the problem is the economy of Europe. By the way, why she doesn’t complain anything that are over priced, like Apple mobile phones or our daily living necessities, instead of making a big deal for things that are affordable for general public. Since when reasonable price is a bad thing ?
