FYI...i am currently in Putrajaya renewing my MM2H visa (under the old scheme)...i heard from trusted sources that the final kinks are being sorted out and the new program should be launched sometime in July this year... don't hold your breath 😅😅😅

Ryan, please talk about the Silver Hair Scheme in Malaysia for overseas retirees. This Scheme will certainly help Singaporean retirees to utilise this scheme to prolong their stays in JB lah

From some Singapore experiences, there is no need for a visa to retire in Malaysia. Just come every few weeks into Malaysia and go back to Singapore. There have been some Singaporeans doing this since 2007 until 2024 (17 years) now. Some even work part-time in Malaysia. They only have a passport without a visa. However, every month, they should leave Malaysia for another country and re-enter back Malaysia. There are 300, 000 Singaporeans entering Malaysia, hence it make sense.

Ya it depends on your travel pattern/frequency

There is a subtle difference between Singapore n Malaysia Government. Malaysia government is Malaysians first while Singapore government is not. Foreigners including Malaysians can get Singapore PR easily. Its not easy for Singaporeans to get PR. Stay in Malaysia is restricted to first 30 days. If Singaporean try to re-enter Malaysia after a day break, Malaysia custom may deny entry. How to retire in Malaysia? 😂 For those Singaporeans who jump in to invest in Malaysia property. Its a dead end investment. U can forget about selling it or regain yr investment. No Malaysians would buy yr property, they hv cheaper options. Having a property in Malaysia which you cant stay for long n constantly subjected to Malaysia Government taxation n duties with no chance of selling . Its not a retirement home but an added burden to retiree. How to retire in Malaysia? 😂

@@seabreeze667 and don't get me wrong, I love Singapore. It really is first world whatever that has been accomplished here, but you really must learn to enjoy the best of both worlds. Lots of retirees understand that. It has nothing to do with patriotism, just being pragmatic and open minded

@AlphaMarketingSG 😂 Thanks for no refute. Malaysia is not the only country to retire. Just a correction to yr comment, Singapore is a developing country. Not first world.

We are quite relaxing to stay at Woodlands. My wife occasionally will travel to JB to buy some groceries. She prefere to travel by bus (sgd 1.50 per trip) as RTS might cost more than sgd 5 / rm 5 per trip.

Other than the mentioned Iskandar Puteri and Austin, there is also the town area like Danga Bay, or just behind Thistle Hotel. 20 mins to Bukit Indah and Austin cos it is central...near checkpoint too...
@AlphaMarketingSG
@AlphaMarketingSG 2 месяца назад
Sure but Danga Bay is a fairly small area vs the main major 3/4 areas i described

Retiring in JB for cost reasons, yet maintaining properties (either rental or owned) in both places, seems counterintuitive. I think it appeals to those who can afford a simple ("economy class") retirement in Singapore, but desire to have a more premium lifestyle for similar money, e.g. bus/MRT in Singapore vs own car in JB; HDB flat in Singapore vs landed property in JB, etc.
@AlphaMarketingSG

Yes and the proximity to Singapore mans you can do both

Correct Is not called Cheap. Msia price is priced correctly. Unlike those SG high prices, indirectly paying the hungry landlord & biz operator has to suppress costs by employing cheap labour getting lousy services and lower grade food? I rather spend in JB

I agree with you, rent first and enjoy the best of both worlds, with so much supply, rental will remain cheap.. Also also over a certain age, it might be better to be in Singapore especially if you are not able to walk, malaysia everywhere u need to drive., i don't think in my 70s i still want to drive
