Never thought of mouth taping. Anyone in the comments find that helps at all? Dry mouth affects my sleep. I wake up at 2:30am like clockwork for the last 2 weeks. So dry can’t even talk. I drink water but then cannot get back to sleep. Sleep deprived now and it’s getting very scary!
Hello woow am having the same issue and yes is very scary. I wake up drink water with ice and then cant sleep again. I starting having this issue after having a very bad nose congestion and ear that its getting better so I think is because i breath to my mouth and having my ac and fan on top of my bed might be the cause. But is too hot in miami cant sleep without fan and ac.
Hi dr. B. This is an interesting topic for me since I do get very dry mouth, but mostly during the night. It happens practically every night and I can feel it starting to happen just as it gets closer to my bedtime. I don't have any extreme breathing difficulties nor allergies nor do I take any medication. Imbibing some extra glasses of water before hitting the bed does not help, either. Food isn't an issue neither since I typically don't eat anything several hours before going to bed. I have mentioned this to my doctor(s) on several occasions, but any useful advice is still forthcoming. This has only been going on for the last 5 years or so and I've mostly grown used to it, but it's still quite bothersome.
Mkeyx82 hi,have you managed to get help with this problem.... im currently experiencing this and its so frustrating because the docs can't figure out what the problem is.....please let me know
@@craigvera7993 hello, no, I have not. The problem is still present to an extent, but it's been a while so I've kind of gotten used to it. Lately we got into a series of hot nights so exacerbates the issue a bit, but I still don't think this problem is related to breathing through the mouth as that's a completely different sensation. I haven't, however, tried using mouth taping. I am not aware that a related product is available in my area.
@Minika Etim hi, if I do, I'll let you know. But it does not seem likely. And it has been a while so I got pretty much used to it. Previously it bothered me, but now I accept it for what it is and try to move on. The single most beneficial thing I could have done for the quality of my sleep is hitting the bed earlier. Who could have known that, right?!
I swallowed a pill, it got stuck. Went to a and e hospital waited 3 hours. Woke, wasn't seen. Next morning had very dry mouth, this eas o er 2 months ago, its been chronically dry ever since, trouble eating and talking, have to have sugar free sweets all the time or gel. I think the shuck did it to me. Any advice.
Hi Dr. B, I would like to point out that while an ENT can be critical to restoring nasal breathing, dentists have a unique role with their capacity to deliver appliances that expand the maxilla and remodel the upper airway. Dr. David G. Singhs DNA/Vivos appliance, and Dr. Ted Belfors Homeoblock achieve this even in adults. I think you would find Dr. Mark A. Cruz's Airway Mini-Residency really quite fascinating, though I suppose with you being next-door to Stanford you may already be aware of much of the information covered. Still, I can't recommend attending the program enough to medical professionals.
sorry to be off topic but does any of you know a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Jude Colin thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Gone through years without sleeping with mouth open, then years with. There are other reasons and ways to truly solve this without an ear nose throat doctor
I just came across your videos. I appreciate your content! I have several autoimmune diseases including sjogrens. I’ve tried oral medications to increase saliva production but they make me so sick. I constantly drink water. I’ve tried the Biotene also. I battle cavities. My previous dentist shamed me and made me feel like a child that had done something wrong (I’m 46!). My new dentist is younger and he “gets it.” Do you have any other ideas to deal with the dry mouth?
I bought some tablets from Amazon that seems to help. They dissolve slowly over a few hours, which brings some relief. I place on between my cheek and gum on the lower side. Did yours come on suddenly or gradually with the autoimmunse Sjogrens?
i'm havin this issue also dry nose and eyes after consuming cannabis oil for a while and not taking water.. also i have pannick attacks after that and constat heart beat, what could it be? im worry about it
Hi there, have you test your glucose, this was happened to me, when your blood sugar is high can cause dry mouth or if you take supplements and don’t drink enough water, I quit eating sugar and carbohydrates and using sesame oil pulling first thing in the morning and at night time. My dry mouth problem went away. Look up on RU-vid video under oil pulling benefits. Give it a try , best of luck to you.
late response but it means you lost your appetite, you want to eat but you can’t because you may feel a sort of weakness and nausea when you try to eat.
