YES! They had an African-American feature in their MV, and a queer couple too in Hype Boy. I've never seen that incorporated so seamlessly in a kpop gg MV before. NewJeans is amazing.

@@parkpark6976 BP followed typical Kpop recipes and taken it to max. Therefore BP was Never revolutionary but just bigger and better than everyone. NJ went completely different route to normal Kpop recipe. No forced rap line. No colorful hair. Music that actually can be listened to alone without MV. NJ is certainly innovative. Not sure it NJ will surpass BP internationally but NJ will surpass BP in Korea in every way for sure.

i absolutely relate the side B tracks you mentioned, i stumbled on NewJeans from OMG MV youtube recommendation , then i got hooked by them and looked for their previous songs, and was genuinely confused like why are there so many MV for a group that just recently debuted, and all of the songs are really good (to the point idk which one is the title tracks), especially Ditto with so many theories, Side A and B, and the Ban Hee So Channel. No wonder they won a daesang so fast!

Aespa's concept is an absolute half-baked garbage metaverse bin. I think this is the disease most kpop groups fall into. They do lore for the sake of having lore and then leaving it at that. I'm not tearing them down but this is an honest critique. Aespa is good but the group does fall into the "look at our half-assed AI/ futuristic concept which may or may not bear fruition in the long run". I don't blame the girls, it's not their fault they had to do a shitty concept.
