@@Baseball-Buzz It's honestly weird. He's been hovering right around the 10th ranked prospect in all of baseball for about1.5 years. It's not like he a low end prospect who just started weirdly hot. Maybe it's just because it's the Padres and they don't get as much coverage? Also, Padres were over .500 last year.
The reason is simple: Holiday was a first round pick, Merrill wasn't. Also Holiday's father was a major leaguer, Merrill has no ancestry in the bigs. It's only normal to put the spotlight on a first rounder, but as the old saying goes: "Not everyone can be a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere." We will soon know who is the better of the Jacksons.
Bingo...a week or two ago, they were slobbering all over Yamamoto for his 5 inning "masterpiece"...That is fine though, the Padres seem to play better when they're under the radar.
I say let Holliday have the spotlight. Merrill needs to just focus on doing what he does best. He's building a resume and letting his stats speak for itself.

Because mlb hates on the Padres. Some of his stats are better than the other two Jacksons. I think your video and hopefully others will change the lack of respect Merrill is getting. If he keeps up his numbers eventually mlb and all the talking heads will have to pay attention to him. I think he will continue to do well. His bat to ball skills are great. He has already moved up in the lineup and if they move Xander he might get bumped up further. I hope they put Kim back at the #1 spot and then Merrill can get the #5 hopefully and who knows maybe he could be moved straight to #1 spot!
Merrill went 6 for 12 during the next Dodgers series, at Dodgers stadium, with a game saving RBI during extra innings and all mlb talked about was Holiday’s first hit. Finally someone talks about Merrill for once🙏
The kids is doing it! I love that he isn't being hipped as much - just like the Padres. He is just fine where he is! Confident, mature and crushing it! Just keep doing your thing on the field Jackson! We Padre fans love this kid!
I like underrated, they had Tatis Jr. The same way, it was Vladdy this Alonso that. Tatis is better then both of them and made the cover of the Show. Merrill will be fine and they will talk about him soon enough
This kid is so much fun to watch I love how hyped he gets when he makes a big play or gets a hit . I saw his first home run and it was funny how everyone ignored him 😂but then gave him love
Video is fine and nice for the more background on JM, but it does imply at the end that the Padres were an under 500 team last year and they were not. They were 82 and 80.
