You know why no one is talking about Caicedo's passing? Because the moment he chose Chelsea, everyone became a Caicedo hater. I'm sure he's a great midfielder but you should bring some stats/data to the conversation if you've done your research. Caicedo is #22 in tackles in the league, Joe Gomez in #79. Caicedo is #28 in blocks, Joe Gomez is number #179. Caicedo is #29 in the Premier League in passes completed, Joe Gomez is #94. I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that Gomez is better.

He is an amazing player! Chelsea need to give him more freedom and utilize him box to box like Brighton did. Theres a reason he was named "the octopus" its because he was all over the ground!
He's got loads of potential and a real desire to become much better. If Chelsea don't hold him back, he'll be a tremendous midfielder. As for the price, I couldn't care less; they're just third-party labels.

No. He is far better. Look up their long pass completion rate. Enzo just can’t defend and loves to bomb forward. He is tactically irresponsible. So is Gallagher. Chelsea fans think Caicedo is like a Kante when he is more like a KDB

Liverpool fans in particular will say "hah, we dodged a bullet" but they'll go on to forget that they were drooling over the thought of him joining their team. The truth is if you put any other world class midfielder in this mess of a Chelsea team, they will struggle. Hell, we would probably make players like Bellingham and Mbappe look mediocre to rivals if you were to place him here. It'll take time for Chelsea to fix their problems and for people to change their views on Caicedo.

You better shut up at once. Caicedo is too slow and sluggish. His passing may be great but he is sloppy. His slow reaction is what makes him launch late tackles. He is simply too annoying in that regard. He could fix that with time but he loses the ball way too often and that is dangerous areas. Try watching him track back especially when facing a counter. Caught ball watching when conceding the second goal at Brentford.

It doesn't matter how good he does, people will hate him because he rejected Liverpool, a club currently challenging for the Prem, for Chelsea, a struggling club lurking around midtable and because we paid 100m for him. It doesn't matter to people if he plays like prime Busquets or prime Modric, so long as he's stuck in a midtable club and that club paid 100m for him because they will look at the EPL table and his price and say "haha, overpriced".
Him and Enzo absolutely have teh ability to be the best midfield duo rn. NO doubt about it. they both have that long and short range passing accuracy. Its all down to how they are used im afraid
That's why we want Poch out in favor of a better manager but there's not many better options these days and it'll be hard to gain the interest of a good manager since we've been stuck in midtable for two seasons in a row now and are facing the chance of missing European football for the second season in a row. We need a manager who, yes, can work with young players, but also one with proper tactics and someone who can implement their vision of how they want the team to play. Poch just isn't that man, he's too tactically stubborn.

Poch has had an excellent career, he can coach. He has been given a poorly assembled team of mainly youngsters. The quality of this team is reflecting the quality of the ownership. If Poch is fired, Chelsea will suck under the next coach too. It will take a few years and some good moves in the transfer market for this team to start challenging for the top 4 again. For a billion dollar outlay, the squad is really unbalanced and poor.

Truth is the pressure is different from being a brighton player to a 115mill player at Chelsea. Every ball at Chelsea is under a microscope. To start with Caicedo has quite a few matches with mistakes being caught out with the ball in front of the centre backs. After the last 15 games caicedo has felt more comfortable and dominating passing from deep and his money is now at the level that he is worth it. Next season I think he will prove he is world class.
Back in Brighton the team was built around him and mcallistor. Sometimes you would find him as a 8 a number 10, even as a freaking winger delivering crosses in the box. He needs the freedom to do what he does best and that’s to set up his teammates. He’s not flashy but with one pass he can decide the game for you. Our Ecuadorian Sniper 🇪🇨😍

Him and Lavia are the perfect CDM pairing. Caicedo can hold the line well and spray out passes from deep. Lavia can do the same, but he’s a better carrier of the ball. Their synergy is gonna be amazing.
I think the bigger question is why does Poch have him play strictly defensive roles, he plays handcuffed for most of the game. The people that know him know that he has much more to offer offensively, definitely a lot more than freaking Gallagher!
Well he spends 90% of the time back passing. At Brighton he always played progressive passes so I blame Poch for that. We don’t know what that coach is trying to do its frustrating.
For me the team need 2 signing players, the play maker as a 10 and a good striker as 09, and if they fail, that will be a coach problem, we have a good team already so long, it need the coach mantality to open them

Though I agree, he’s not as bad as ppl say, you can make anyone look good through highlights. He still misplaces a lot of passes, especially longer ones.
Chelsea conversion rate is still uncharacteristically low, therefore these high work rates will continue to be unacknowledged until the goals start coming in.

Passes wont win you praise if you lose the ball regularly and dont teack back to tackle when YOU lose the ball.. As a DM he doesnt do enough of his actual role for chelsea.. i saw waaaaaaaay greater moments of him in the same position at Brighton HE DID WAAAAY MORE THERE THEN THE TEAM HE SO SUPPORTS THAT HE PLAYS FOR.. 😢
