By “realistic” you mean human. I think guardians of the galaxy was and will always be the best Thanos with his blue eyes and his sickass armory who for the first time isn’t your average Ultron and human threat. They wasted all that potential of teasers and threw it down the drain to please the newer mcu fans
The thing that bothers me are his more human looking eyes compared to how they looked in GotG and the end credit scene of Age of Ultron (?) I liked the darkness with the glowing purple iris.
John Travolta like frt. he's in god damn space when we saw him originally... no light like at all. Then he compared it to his appearance on a planet with light from a sun. Moronic.
He is seen on a planet with light in the scene where he takes the gauntlet. He is incredibly purple, still, in that scene. The lighting excuse is bullshit.
Yeah, but he's not. He goes from a deeper purple than the damn Grimace to, in Infinity War, a washed-out pink (not purple) nearing flesh tone. Lighting can't account for that.
Its easy to explain, most of the post credits scene we saw Thanos in dark areas (Space). Now its the first time we see him in the light, so that explains why his skin color tone is changed. Simple
But unless he was on earth for a very short amount of time he would’ve had to have been on earth for the gauntlet- I had the same theory but I’m mixed cod of this^^^
It's the lighting, that's why Thanos has different shades of purple every time we see him. Plus in Infinity War, he looks that purple, because he isn't in Space, he's on a planet
It’s obvious though.. He’s on the planet that shines bright orange light, surely his skin tone would not be purple (not the skin itself but what the human eye can register when the purple skin reflecting with the sunshine)..
I think they are just still making artistic improvements to the character design while they can, before Thanos gets enough screen time that it’s “too late” to change they way he looks. Like the eyes for example. They also completely changed the shape of his face. Just look at the number of ridges in his chin and how they change.
noah spray the movie still might look different, just like what they did in thor ragnarok's trailers. In trailers he had both of his eyes and some scenes are in a different background.
Deric James he looks extremely realistic, with none of that uncanny valley bs either. You're probably one of those people that think steppenwolf and cyborg and Superman's moustache looked perfectly fine.
The scene he's in has a Brownish orangeish tent to it, pretty sure thats why he looks like that. If it's not that then maybe they changed his colors abit so he'd look abit more realistic. The CGI isn't finished anyway this was just a teaser trailer a little warm up. I'm sure it'll look better when we see the second or final Trailer.
He already looks very "realistic" if you look at his texture, his skin. Being purple, orange or pink doesn't make him more or less "realistic", in my opinion of course.
I’ve been thinking about how Thanos’ appearance in Avengers (2012) was the decision of Wheaton, and how he had so little a presence in Age of Ultron. I’ve come to a conclusion that by having him in tiny appearances over the last five years, the studio has given themselves a lot of time and data with which to refine his look. I think the inconsistencies are simply evidence of tinkering, which I would not only approve of but expect.
This is when you know people have had it too good with Marvel Studios films; they start complaining that the coloring of an alien isn't consistent. Oh how disappointing! Sheesh.
These studios, except Marvel Studios , think they can just slap the word UNIVERSE to their projects and it automatically works. How is Universal's Dark Universe coming?
Nathan Trujillo some of what? The DC movies? At most, Wonder Woman was ok, everything else is shit. Now, my preference of good movies over cancer doesn’t make me a MCU fanboy, because I can say the same thing for Avengers 2, the first 2 captain America’s, the first 2 Thor’s, the Incredible Hulk, and the iron man sequels. Those aren’t that good. But unlike DC, marvel makes you forget about their shit movies with great movies. Also, fuck Zack Snyder
Michael Palomares I see your point but it’s not exactly the same scenario, we’re not talking about the overall look of the movie, we’re talking about how the lighting effects the look of the character, and some people seem to have forgotten about that for some reason, I mean you don’t have to be a genius to know how lighting works and how it plays into Cgi
Rifat Hossain His eyes should be pools of black, like when Willow (Buffy series) went bad. Except his eyes would be much bigger, almost like he's alien, because y'know, he is.
diff. is in space the lighting is much darker, so of course his skin looks more bluish, while in direct light at an angle thts shining in the front and not the back where u cant see it, he looks more purple-ish.
He was very pink in Infinity War, but my biggest issue with him is that he should have kept his armor on. I get that it was a symbolic gesture, but his head and neck are so big, he just looks like he lives at the gym and injects growth hormone into his big pink ass. The second time I saw Infinity War I was in the front row, so his chin throughout the entire movie looked twice as big as was designed for, so he actually DID look like grimace, who is even more terrifying than Thanos.
CowBoy15 dude, look at these butthurt DC fans in your comment lol, the rant was funny though 😂 cause I watched the movie, and the Cyborg CGI is honestly garbage...
OWSMI he wasn’t curious as to why his skin was like that he was curious to see how dumb this dude is about it. You could say the same thing about spiderman, he finally wares the suit after refusing to in Spider-Man homecoming. Spider-Man upgrades just like the enemy does in this movie
Bro 2018 thanos looks way sicker than any of the other types he actually has a face not a cartoon face it’s realistic and i think they fucking nailed it with the latest thanos character
I don't get why people are making it a big deal. He looks okay. If anything the bright purple looks too cartoon like. That was back in 2012 when they hurred up and made him quickly now Marvel had time to update him.
Flora Daisy the problem with that is thanks is virtually immortal, he's thousands of years old depending on the comic, I don't think a few years is going to make that drastic of a change, more than likely just model refining, if anything it's. Agood thing since the hyper unrealistic Steppenwolf was a massive dissapointment a more human like Thanos is an upgrade
He also looks different, like his face I mean. But I honestly really like this look. At first, his armor-less and bald look was kind of wierd but it's really grown on me.
DARK STUDIOS Actually you're right that's a good reason. I just meant that since they had worst cgi the colors wouldn't look as good so they'd have to go with a different color
Not only is he pink now, his nose lips and eyes changed too. He no longer has those piercing blue glowing eyes, nor as many scars on his face, his nose is smaller, and overall they made him look more human now. The fact that he doesnt even wear his armor to go to War, but does to sit on a chair in space makes no sense.
Ceremonial Armor? I mean he's physically as tough as the Hulk, armor doesn't mean much, especially when he's assembling the Infinity Gauntlet, on the other hand, armor could reduce his mobility which could be a problem.
Overall it makes me think how marvel doesnt make the aliens look alien. Imo all the mcu alien characters ive seen so far just look too humanoid. Thanos here just looks like a really buff human with small eyes and no eyebrows with a chin infection
damn people.. these are movies put together by different people.. just like the Hulk looks different in every movie hes in.. its not a big deal, y do people care about shit like this..
Simple. Thanos from GotG is the actual Thanos and IW Thanos is a fake Thanos that was the same alien race as Thanos and looked like the original Thanos except for the skin color, which no one in IW cared about and just assumed he was Thanos. This also explains his nose and Wolverine scars being different.
I think 2012 Thanks looked the most like the comics, and Guardians was different but looked good too. Not saying he didn’t look great in Infinity War but he looks a little bit too human. Too much like Josh Brolin
