Ever since 1996, both teams wore a World Series patch on their sleeve. That is not the case anymore in 2023. The World Series patch will now be worn on the chest, since one of the sleeves for every team is reserved for ad space and can't be used. Furthermore, teams also do not want to remove their team patch to accommodate for the World Series patch.
