Tenants at Thorncliffe Park and across Canada are fighting skyrocketing rents and evictions. The Liberals are enabling this crisis, violating our right to housing. Why is the government supporting these exploitative practices?
If they force people out of houses. Corporations can buy them and profit big time as they will only go up. Canada doesn't build new houses so house prices go up. Rich get more rich.
Housing isn’t a human right in our law, it’s a privilege according to the people who think it’s not necessary for survival in the one of the most unwelcoming climates on earth…. I have over 40 properties and the rent rises we've seen make me wince. I tried not to put mine up too much but my agent just does it anyway. Feel sorry for those that get evicted. I try to keep my properties in good condition
I only wish I could afford to move. What people are paying to rent something the size of half a small garage is insane. Nothing but greed in bc. My place shouldn't cost more than $300 a month! I'm so sick and tired of Canadians needlessly suffering because of this evil, corrupt government! They all deserve a prison cell! None of them lost 'their' jobs...GEE just why is that??? The people who are buying up the available houses are the problem. Under the system of our present business mantra the government can't do anything to help . As a politician she should try and help by stopping foreigners from buying New homes they don't live in . But then these investors are bribing her .
You're not defending no rights that just happened to me and now I'm going to be homeless because rents are so high I just got kicked out of a home I've been in for 21 years because the landlord wants to charge more
Many of my friends and family, including myself, have become homeless because we can't afford rent. At this point, I'm only trying to lose weight so I'm easier to abduct. At least then I'll have a roof over my head... Hopefully they can afford fresh produce too.
