I’ve never heard of this Italian beer style, I can’t wait for the rest of this series of the Italian beer culture Anthony. Could you also make a series highlighting the Spanish beer culture? As I used to live there and I haven’t found much beer there except for the usual lagers like San Miguel, Mahou, Cruzcampo, Estrella Damm and Estrella Galicia amongst others

I do plan on discussing Spain soon. I took a short trip through Spain and Andorra and found the beer culture to be pretty interesting there. It does seem to focus heavily on the lagers though.

@@LifeIsBrewtiful That’s indeed what I’ve experienced, I’ve heard and read however that in the Northern part of the Country the craft beer boom has exploded too, like in Cataluña and the Basque region for example

I've enjoyed several "vino veza" beers by Washington brewer Bale Breaker. These beers are made using grapes and often aged in wine barrels. They are wild ales and so a little tart, but are very accessible to wine fans. I aged a few of these and finished my last bottle a year ago or so.

Oddly there is a style here in Georgia, not recognised by BJCP. Its made with indigenous grapes, often wild fermented (but not always) in clay qvevris aligned with the same wine fermentation techniques from at least 8000 years ago. It’s usually dry and made with white grapes. Really delicious.

Every time we talk, my desire to visit Georgia grows and grows. I don't know how or specifically on what but we should do a collab. If you are interested please send me an email and we can work out the details. My contact info is in the channel info

Hello from Italy! I am glad you are making a video series on Italian craft beers, I will follow it with interest. Although I am not a wine drinker and "grape ales" are one of my least favorite styles, I think they are worth trying at least a few times in a lifetime. By the way, your video features both the worst grape ale I've ever had (Coop, undrinkable for me) and the only ones I've really loved (Loverbeer and Ca del Brado). Shout-out especially to Ca del Brado, an outstanding brewery that luckily for me is based in my city, Bologna. All of their beers are fantastic!

Bologna is amazing! I spent several days there and absolutely loved it. I will definitely be mentioning it the next time I talk about Italian beer. I unfortunately didn't visit Ca del Brado because I chose to take the train/bus to San Marino but I do wish I stayed to enjoy y'all's beer a bit more. I agree with you that the coop wasn't the best but I still enjoyed the uniqueness of it compared to the craft versions.

The first batch of Bière de Garde bottles should be carbed next week. I also have a grape ale on tap. I made one a while back, and my wife loved it. So I keep one tap constantly.

Awesome! I'm excited to learn how it turns out. Also grape ales are a good brew to have on tap! I've been wanting to brew one for a while, hopefully I'll get a chance this summer. Cheers!

@@LifeIsBrewtiful ok back - just bought a bottle of "Sour Sketch" that contains 20% "uva" - grape, about 8 euro a bottle, 375 mL. Its good, but it just tastes like a good sour beer, nothing particular stands out. Still though, an interesting find, and I was surprised my alcohol shop (Sweden), had it. Great recommendation!
