In this video i explain why I think the meta in my eyes is boring in its current state. Discord Server LInk: / discord 0:00 Intro 0:43 Gems 5:44 reforges and weapons 6:49 outro
Since talking about meta in this video, you should try to show items and weapons that are niche and unique but still hold up on there on compared to the meta. Example: slime hammer video, showing the power it has compared to the other heavies in the game Also for items: nazar 🧿
Idk why people kept complaining about slime hammer not being good or worth it as it is literally just better empyrean maul in almost every way except raw burst dmg on the heavy (and slime hammer heavy still beats maul heavy because of the slime pool)
Just wanted to tell you that in the halloween update they shadow nerfed either the zap antenna mana disonance or every magic item in the game for example i was using a 121 mana zap antenna build with mana disonance i was always able to use it however this update i cannot use the heavy anymore while using mana disonance can still use the mcflurry tho.
I kinda hate how Archery skill got reworked to just giving crit buff for 5 seconds that stacks up to 30 because it felt like it was TRYING to make crit ranged good, but because its only bows, it makes guns obsolete. Only good thing with the dexterity nerf was that negative dexterity from mushroom hat, ice crown, and nerd glasses no longer decreases crit chance so you can crit even with like negative 20 dexterity. It should’ve been reworked to giving 0.25% crit increases instead of just removing it, and making it so negative dexterity does not decrease crit chance, only swing speed and ranged damage. Also we would all appreciate if the devs made more accessories so we can have more variety with builds and possibly even have more subclasses like maybe a rouge class or something like a ranger mage or something unique.
6:22 range literally has like 8 weapons and half of them suck with barely any acessories also pistol pop pellets is not guaranteed to fire 4 bullets at once even on pistols and the bullet type accessory stacking limit isn't helping
As a revolver user, I can confirm that you don't need a meta build to deal really good damage. My revolver build dishes out 34x6 per shot with virtually infinite mana as long as the bullets hit thanks to the outlaw glasses.
i'd like to introduce to you, explosive rusty bell. i don't think people give enough props to explosive gem when it's used with heavy weapons, since its dps is enough to rival PRE-NERF GLADIUS, evidence? make the average tank build: bulwark - liar, unharmed/sanguine, rubber band, etc. get bloodthirst and jugg reforge would obviously be small and just do big iron. my fastest runs with this build would be around 2 and a half minutes and for reference finishes off thief king before he uses vuvuzela 1 cycle viperhead (before the venom spit) 1 cycle mondo squid 1/2 cycle pop off (before the first canon ball rain) 1 cycle magma turtle (during the first head slam) 1 cycle sandpod king (during or before the flip) 2-3 cycle archmage 1 cycle granny (before or during the roll) 0 cycle skeleton (deals enough damage to consistently bypass the damage reduction and stunlock him) this is stupidly good for a TANK BUILD without even having to commit to dps or self healing.
So I decided to try this out of curiosity and oh boy, turns out 70% of this comment consisted of lies/bs I even used the best-ish tank build which would consist of ; -Liar -Viking helmet -Titan brace -Rubber band -Diamond ring -Blood chalice -Sharktooth Necklace And then I made my way over to big iron. Here are the cycles for reference Pop off pirate - 2-3 Cycles Magma turtle - 3 Cycles Sandpod king - 3 Cycles Archmage - 2 Cycles (Better than you) Granny - 2-3 Cycles Skeleton - 2-3 Cycles Mondo squid - 2 Cycles Viperhead - 2 Cycles Thief king - Right after first vuvuzela Also, for reference aswell, I can confidently say my parrying skills are great, so are my dodging skills and my overall knowledge about big iron bosses. This comment is bs. Talents : Bloodthirst, Juggernaut, Fearmonger, Delicate. Also here's a edit of my comment : Skeleton took 1 and 2/3rds of a cycle Granny took 2 Cycles Magma turtle took 2 Viper took 1 and 2/3rds
Man I stopped playing pilgrammed cus I got bored after playing it A LOT because of how unique the game and builds where, now the unique builds seem to have gotten nerfed
metas in any rpg game are awful, because it always feels like if you aren't following it, you are just not going to have fun. this is usually only happens if the devs decide to balance mobs around said meta, and leaves the other kits in the dust. then suddenly power creep shows up, new items are added that make the old items completely irrelevant, and the cycle continues. its a slippery slope that way too many games fall down
im glad that pilgrammed doesn't center around a meta, only really nerfing something whenever its horrendously broken (old speed demon being able to completely undermine difficulty being an example). imo skill presides more over your build in this game and thats part of why I love it so much, I get to play a "character" and still have fun since im worried more about how to properly deal with a boss instead of what better can I put in my build
I wonder if he just makes a sound less video and then voice over and put stuff editing and stuff in it after it is in his storage and he wants to upload it
the game isn't meant to be played like a shooter in which you find a "meta" weapon and only use said weapon. It's an openworld RPG, and the thing that makes openworlds unique is that no one can dictate how you're supposed to play. You get a weapon, decide that it's cool, make a build for it, and have fun. You make it boring by constricting your options to what is good and not what is fun. In other words, why should the meta even matter?
@@reiwhatever 1: you're acting like you're being graded for how fast you kill a boss 2: I literally just explained how you shouldn't complain about being bored due to lack of meta diversity as using any weapon for long periods of time will make you uninterested 3: YOU decide whether you wanna kill a boss super fast and get bored OR you can learn its attack pattern, study how to counter it and attempt until you finally beat it, which will give you significantly more satisfaction
I would love to see more fun weapons that are good, like what about a gun that rewards wast movement and dodging instead of “stand here and parry until it dies” Seriously guns are really boring to play right now. Its just a rhythm game.
It feels like many people don't look at other weapon that are insanely strong nowadays, Nagakiba, Shroomerang, hell even Bloodtwin are stronger than most weapons, the main problem I think people are doing now is that they focus on pierce and how massive the meta shifting is, if a weapon doesn't have *insert pierce chance here* it's not viable, even though it is, good examples of weapons like this are 2 new ones, Berried Cleaver and Gravetree, despite being strong and having one of the best synergies in the game (Caustic Fang) not many people uses them as their primary as they don't give more pierce (I.E. they don't have natural pierce like Prime Brand), there is a REASON why they removed Shroomerang's pierce, there is a REASON why Nagakiba has no pierce, there is a REASON why a lot of strong weapons don't have pierce, it makes them too overpowered and thus, make the game unfun, the meta shifting needs to be accounted for too, as certain skills are not as good as other skills, my Nagakiba build doesn't even have Aced Bloodthirst or Rally as those 2 things despite being good, don't work as well as, this goes for a LOT of weapons surprisingly, why? Simply put, these weapons are medium weight weapons, which means they don't get as much as a swingrate boost than others, and not only that because how the meta shifted (quietly) everyone still focuses on the hottest things like Gladius or well, any old meta weapon, there's so much more people are forgetting as even without strong tools, even without strong items, mostly everything is the same as before with strong weapons, just no one looks at them. TL;DR: Stop being a doomer and use Nagakiba, and start being a shroomer and use Shroomerang
thats true, but can u show some proof that those weapons outside metas are actually good. like maybe a vid of u using the build with a showcase of how good it is. cuz i tried, making some builds with these weapons that can be good, by experimenting with stuff that can bring them to their most potential. but they just dont perform well so i still decide to stick with the same good ol mainstream weapon
@@reiwhatever it requires a shit ton of brainstorming for certain weapon builds simply, it was pretty hard to come up with my main Nagakiba build taking me a while, but in the end I manage to make a build that deals pretty high damage and has frost cone synergy with it, for Shroomerang it mostly damage ups you need, Gravetree is one of the few heavyweight weapons that is actually really fast and strong, so using small + light gem is absolutely recommended, along with aced Bloodthirst (because of it being a heavy), Berried Cleaver is the only weapon I haven’t made a build yet but because it can inflict venom Caustic Fang MAY be good, and Bloodtwin is pretty sluggish but you can probably just use your Shroomerang build with it.
@@HollowGameXBoywell i guess thats true, since barely anyone care with these weapon. researching on proper build for them could be much harder than usual also these recommendations sounds good, gotta keep them in mind
Why not Just N O T use meta? I always played heavy build and i never really Got an problem whit It Ive never used crit except for range but i always where the heavys weapon Guy But i do like fucking arround and finding out some build I dont use meta i use gimicks I dont want the strongest I want the most funny and cool one ITS not about ones equipment is about their skill in game and How good you are whit your build in particular That why i tried make an Ice Magé build but i dint found funny snowman tô finish it
