Here in New Zealand, there is gold just laying around on the bedrock. The trick is to locate these untouched areas. I found a river loaded in gold nuggets and exercise what's called 'gold sniping' to mine the nuggets! Yes I used live in Alexandra and you needed a gold panning liscence from the local District Council for the area. The old gold mine was just up the Clutha from our place overlooking the Clutha where the older dredge boats used to work. Laurie NZ.

Shenanigans is right. I've been panning, sluicing, and dredging for gold with my grandad when I was young, and I don't even know where to start with this video: Everything from orders of magnitude above commercial quantity level, the method being used for a stream like this... But it would just be easier if you Googled something like "Do nuggets of gold just sit on top of gravel in streams" or "Where in the sediment column does gold deposit, and how does it" and see for yourselves. NB: The problem with TV shows and RU-vid videos like this, is that people who have never actually prospected don't know that these do not happen like that in the real world.

W live in NZ and there are clear restrictions to where you go, and what you do in terms of bush camping, hunting and mining. You simply can't go off and just disregard what has been put in place to protect this beautiful country. I'm suggesting you're out of order. Perhaps you could provide on your clips evidence of being given authorisation to do what you're doing. I suggest you haven't been given that clearance.

Hey Pauly! You should get an underwater viewer aka coral viewer (a handheld type mask one might use to look below the surface from a boat). You could possibly snipe shallows in a pair of waders. $20~150 on that jungle website. Gaffer tape your snuffer to one of those extended reach grabber tools and you hardly need to bend over. If it works... Pioneer Paulys' creek sniping kit in the merch line !? At very least a content stream when a fella needs something pioneer.

I really don’t like the way you alter the places you visit with complete disregard. I’ve been living in New Zealand for a few months and it’s a beautiful country covered in large areas of essentially untouched, pristine nature. We should be keeping it that way. It’s not ok to just forever alter a place like that unless it’s land you OWN.

Hi Pauly, Ive been checking your fun vids for about a year now. I live in CA, trying to figure out which state would be worth snorkeling and highbanking for the first time. Is each state different on rules? Do I start with BOLM? Btw if you rub surfboard wax on the wetsuit zippers each month they shouldn't break or stick...but u probably knew that. As a foreigner, what do you need legally to search gold by hand in New Zealand, Tasmania or Australia? Free surf lessons for ya if you make it to CA. Cheers!

fyi no states in NZ just one country, but local district councils may or do have local bylaws on panning for gold. As I recall ALL underground minerals like gold are property of Crown, now King Charles III which I seen stated buying houses here. Part of the land title. Laurie NZ

OK. Average haul here is 5 grams. Which on the market is $390 Nz. Factor in the price of Vehicle hire, fuel,food, camping equipment, their tools they used, wetsuit, clothing, boots, wet weather gear. Not so profitable eh? And several days to split what $1000 between them then minus the above cost? I have earned more money picking apples in Canterbury.😂

What your doing is illegal in NZ unless you have applied for a permit and you are only allowed to search for gold in specified areas only. Its called theft and is highly illegal.
