or the first thing to do to fix, is to purposely break the head stock off and have it correctly attached, better yet if that said company would just sell the damn guitar with the head stock either not attached, or use an epi made neck then the problem would dissapear. lol shame, go to music store, drop 3000 usd on a LP just to take it to a repair shop and say hey, can you rip the head off this thing and make it right.

Good job highlighting the sustainer electronics. That was really cool. I eapecially loved the demo on the clean tones. Then, when you put the distortion back in, there was such a contrast, and sounded great. Thank you for showing this.

Really nice intro, I love it. The Japanese really crushed the market a few years back with very close approximations of Fender and Gibson guitars. If you know the history of the market, and most people do, Fender basically gave it all away to the Japanese. I have a Tokia Strat, style guitar made in the 80's that rivals my 62' USA re-issue by Fender. They continue to still make nice stuff , but under their own brand names, like ESP for example.

It is tough to feel bad for a company that lives off a brand while declining in quality yet sticks it to customers because it's a Gibson. Gibson can suck it. Heritage seems to have it right and other brands are just fine. Gibson seems to carry itself like it is still the 70s or 80s.

Ya but for only 3-10x the price you can get one made in the US that consistently over the last decade has produced an excessive amount of faulty examples. So many vids with dissatisfied owners pointing out the flaws on their multi thousand Gibsons. Missing binding, uneven finish, rough fret edges and of course the same electronic techs from the 60's. Why would you want a flawless, superior, replica for way less money? Why drive an affordable efficient vehicle when you could drop $80K on a giant V8 that barely makes 60hp/L??? #Murica

I just subscribed with a thumbs-up for innovation. I'm interested in clean playing, extended ranges, integration with computers & keyboards, and fine music. Metallic noise, no. Younger fingerstyle guitarists (Sungha Jung, S. Korea and Gabriella Quevedo, Sweden) are terrific. Bringing their sounds to advanced equipment, electric and acoustic, primarily in studio, is my core interest. (I'm not forgetting many more artists, but these two RU-vidrs are familiar.)

Hi Max. Congrats for this most excellent review, this Fernandes is on my wishlist (my fav guitar player, Steve Hackett, always used those axes). Have you ever thought of reviewing an Eko? They are in same price range as Harley Benton, they're also built in China and most models don't exceed 300 bucks as final price. Eko has also a "masterbuilt line which is very expensive, but the entry level models are pretty good for the buck, I find. As far as I'm concerned, I own an S300 and en Eko VL480, they're great studio guitars that can be easily modded and upgraded. The new Eko AIRE, TERO, Fire and AQUA are awesome too. Cheers!

Fernandes has been making a "Sustainer" Model guitar since the '80's. Carlos Santana used them exclusively for years.

Many wonderful guitars are made in Japan. I only play Yamaha guitars. They play as well as USA guitars. I am talking the top end of course. But at a fraction of the cost! Some of there mid-range guitars are amazing as well!

Extremely true. Hard to fathom the $ spent on some of our products made here that arent on par with Yamaha

I’ve always heard good things about Burny, but I always wondered why you don’t see them in the USA. Question answered! Thanks man!

I have a kustom made Gretchen hollow body electric guitar made in 2000 from Japan. I really love it plays amazing even if it isn’t plugged in it still has a deep tone sound.

That's a cracking axe! I had a Washburn LP copy in the 1980s, IIRC, it was Japanese made - superb quality. Back in the 1980s in the UK, US guitars were pricey and quality had taken a dive. Japanese Fenders, Fernandez, Tokai, Yamaha et al were much better quality back then, with more features (onboard FX) and better value for money.....I still own Japanese Strats from that time.
