Here from the future! Yummer has been explained, for some who haven't heard: Yummer was actually a joke character around the office. He was a placeholder set in place as a small wonder of how a different character would look when poking out behind a pole. Yet, upon the game's release, they forgot to remove Yummer's sprite.

It looks like something that wouldn't look out of place in a Courage the Cowardly Dog episode. My god.

Fun fact: that 'cipher' out of bounds in Truth Or Square isn't a cipher at all. It's actually just a level warp (presumably for testing purposes). No-clipping and touching each of the numbers results in the respective numbered levels unlocking in the Scrapbook.

Theory: Yummer is there just to scare dataminers.

Yummer's eyes come from a two panel image of a guy with a black shirt and black hair having his eyes popped out in the second image, and the first one being normal. His smile comes from wikipedia of a picture of permanent teeth, when you look up the article "Permanent Teeth."

By the look of the hands and arms of the sprite it looks like it was at one point supposed to be Sandy, but clearly edited. My guess, giving the wrecked suit sprite, is that it was supposed to be used in a scene where she was out of her suit and hiding behind something, and peeking around since she would basically be naked. Whatever the intended use for it was scrapped and a bored dev got to editing with the sprite and made this creepy thing and left it in the game without someone noticing.

Turns out yummer was a office meme that was forgot to be added out of the spongebob game. His actual name was supposed to be yum and they found it very funny so they decided to add a animation. And Sandys ripped suit was supposed to be a puzzle to fix her suit that was later cut from the game.

I checked the code. The Yummer has no animation files in the 2D KIT files therefore it can’t be displayed ever in the game. It was most likely a Easter egg or story element that was removed but the art was never removed.

This is SKIN THEORY, it's what they look like underneath the interchangable fish costumes.

the yummer animation scripts are called t_TMPYummer (1 and 2). tmp means temporary, in other words a placeholder. t might mean test. yummer is probably just a placeholder character made by some dev to test out the event engine while the game was in development. its art style isnt consistent with the final product anyway, beyond the creepy face i mean. look at the outline on the hands and the flat coloration, it just looks slapped together. oh and the canned socks having an out of place dialogue box lends some credence to the idea that the t_ prefix on animation scripts means test. the devs were probably testing out how the dialogue calls worked and just left the trigger in the final product.

It was confirmed as a joke the devs did, they're replace unfinished assets with it so they would be glaringly obvious to fix. I'd get bored too if I was working on a flash game

Yummer is most likely Sandy. I believe it is Sandy breaking free from the suit by some experiment or something. It would explain the fluffy hands and broken suit, however it does not explain the socks or the name.

Gonna be real here, when he said "oh wait he did it wrong." I was expecting a jump scare from Yummer, and the sounds that played when the oddhead flashed on screen, actually made me jump a bit.

I'm surprised barely anyone has mentioned that Spongebob has previously used much worse images in the past. Some examples (not limited to sadly) include; Moar Krabs ('Jellyfish Hunter'), that horsefly ('Wormy') parts of 'Ink Lemonade', the rotting patty ('To Love a Patty'), "We're Like Brothers, Only Closer" ('Can You Spare a Dime?'), Squidward messily getting his toenail removed ('House Fancy'), Squidward at the end of 'SquidBob TentaclePants' (that ending actually got removed in some countries), Nosferatu flicking the lights ('Graveyard Shift'), Puffy Fluffy after growing ('A Pal For Gary'), and worst of all "Is there something wrong with me?" ('Whatever Happened to Spongebob Squarepants'). I think the last one is possibly the nastiest images I've seen online (I find it almost shock site worthy). All of those examples were taken from the actual show and make Yummer look good in comparison. According to some comments below, Yummer is apparently an in-joke someone snuck in there. I find him quite interesting.

Ok I got a theory. Yummer is simply Sandy. After quickly playing through the game, there are a number of objectives to complete, each one has to do with memorable episodes or items from the show. I believe “Yummer” or Sandy, hiding behind the post was a proposed objective from the show’s episode where Sandy’s suit broke and she had to put a pickle jar onto her head to breath. This would account for 3 things: 1. The animation behind the post (her hiding in embarrassment), 2. Her ripped up suit also mentioned in video (which would be part of the completion of proposed objective), 3. The arms and neck (at least I believe) look a lot like Sand’s. The “oddhead” was a place holder as the artists weren’t ready to draw up Sandy’s head in a pickle jar without confirmation on if the objective would make final cut. Therefore I think Yummer was just a placeholder for one of Sandy’s objectives that got scrapped and wasn’t completely removed from files. Just a theory but I think I’m on to something.

I don’t know why but the destroyed Sandy suit creeps me out even more then Yummer does. It’s very standard creepypasta fare, and dead spongebob characters are nothing new in that regard, but the downplayed nature of it makes it really unsettling, like this was just a normal part of the game. They’re able to depict something so gruesome without a drop of blood being visible. Kudos to that.
