If those were actual Apple fans, they’d take a look at the keyboard and go “oh, a Windows key. On a “Mac”. Hm…”. End of commercial.

They talk about upgrading the ram and then show off the surface laptop studio... 😑

It’s funny they never talk about the 2 of the most important things that matter in a laptop, Battery and Speed. These are the things that a chip maker should actually boast about but they never mention performance in these ads.

Could you imagine devoting a whole commercial describing all the features of the products that actually don't have anything to do with your company... that is insane. It would be like Esso making a commercial about the features of a V12 Ferrari's to electric car drivers. "what if I told you, there's this magic juice you can put in your car, and you won't need to charge it. Your car can run in a matter of minutes instead of an hour!"

When your i9 that requires a nuclear power plant can't beat the entry level M1 chips, this is what you do. Apparently.

As a Mac user, if someone asked "what is your laptop missing" I would say things like FaceID or ProMotion. Not "touchscreen". I find touchscreens on laptops to be ridiculous when you have a good trackpad.

As an Apple user that uses PC’s work since forever, I still can’t stand how bad Windows is with touch. Even now that I have a Surface Pro 7 for work, I never use the touch screen. Touch points are still way too small and it is still an OS designed for a mouse.

It always amazes me when giant companies paying thousands for ads that have to get approved by dozens of people before they make it on the air are so terrible. How does no one in that process realize its a bad ad

It's insulting to think customers are stupid enough to fall for junk like that. If they are real people then they are just excited to be doing a "thing" because they'll be in a commercial or whatever. If your an Apple fan you won't want to use a pc because you've already taken the advantages and disadvantages into consideration before you bought a Mac I would hope. 🤦‍♂️

As an apple sheep, I can confirm that I do not want the MacBook to have a touchscreen. It makes for a worse computer experience. I’d rather use touch on my iPad.

I had a 2 in 1 before I switched to Mac. Almost never used the touchscreen for regular use, the only times I used it was when I would remember that I could do it, but unless you actually need it or want it on your laptop, the "benefits of it" in general are very minimal, especially when you have a 15 inch device, you'll just end up using your mouse and keyboard.

If Intel wants to make a good commercial, they should be comparing their chips to AMD or M1. Not just computers that happen to have those chips.

I’ve used Windows for most of my life and for years, I’ve used a Windows 2-in-1 as my computer. Throughout that time, I almost never used the touchscreen, and I almost never used the tablet functionality, except for showing it as a gimmick. Then, when I switched to a MacBook Air a couple years ago, I didn’t miss the touchscreen at all. So while I’m not against having a touchscreen on a laptop, I don’t think it’s a must have feature for a Mac because it’s optimized for keyboard and mouse.

Personally as a Mac user, I find touch screens on laptops to be the most useless thing ever, not only does poking your screen going to make it more dirty with fingerprints, its also going to tilt your screen angle or even tilt the whole laptop depending on how heavy your laptop is and how heavy you poke. MacBooks have a great trackpad that works amazingly well, I have not used a mouse for years now because of how good the trackpad is. (Also I have experienced wrist pain in the past with mouses but never with the trackpad). Touch screens work well on iPhones and iPads because of the way we use them. Because we are holding the screen, it it stable and so touches can be precise and thus a good user experience. Whenever I am trying to use my iPhone when its mounted in my car, (which is close to touch screens on the laptop scenario), I get a horrible using experience, and most of the time, I just give up and unmount the iPhone and use it in my hand. If I were asked what my laptop is missing, I probably say the new m1 chip for more performance since my MBP from 2015 is quite outdated.

This is pretty much the equivalent of Shell making an ad for gasoline. "Do you want to be able to get more performance out of your 2006 Camry? Do you want to wait 30 minutes for your car to charge or fill up in two minutes? Don't you want a car that's so loud, everyone in your street wakes up when you start it at 6 in the morning? What if we told you that everything you desire is available TODAY? Buy a gasoline car" Customers have moved on, the industry has moved on (that goes for Intel and electric cars). Why not follow or better yet, start the next thing, Intel?

I believe intel makes these just because it gains so much attention. Any PR is good PR.

On the touch screen part of the conversation - I had my dream come true with iPad and magic keyboard case. I can use it as a laptop but I can reach out and grab exactly what I want when I want it, instead of scrolling the mouse over to it. Plus I can take the screen off and draw on it if needed. I think I’m writing this comment more as a reminder to my Self: I bought this as a treat to me, to remind me that I’m worth the things that I want and I wanted it because it’s a touch screen laptop that I can take the screen off… it’s magic. So I am 100% one of those people who want to touch their laptop screen. To be clear, I had a high-end asus touch screen laptop for many years and thought that was the pinnacle - until using an iPad and realising how much better it could actually work.

Another thing that kept me in Apple is the resale value. At least where I come from, they hold their value very well, more than 40% of it's original value for machines that are 4 years old or more. I can sell it off and it will fund my next Mac purchase. For its Windows counterpart the value fall off drastically, and well, there's very little demand for that and you expect it to be on shelves for a very long time unless you sell it for an absolute bargain.

It is a terrible AD, but the way Apple fans behave sometimes makes me believe this is true 🤣 I've had apple people tell me they won't text people who are green bubbles.

The thing that immediately turned me off from 2-in-1 laptops (aside from the fact that they’re running a mouse-first UI) was that never once when picking up my iPad did I think to myself „gosh, I sure wish this was 3x thicker and had a keyboard on the back so my fingers wouldn’t be touching this disgusting smooth Aluminium“ like… I get that it might seem cool or even practical to have a Tablet style device when you want it, but the experience is just so very unpleasant.

This is what happened with Android as well: androids and “non-apple” laptops can’t beat iPhones or MacBooks on merit (ie raw performance, real features, and build quality), so they start making random useless gimmicky functions like larger screens and folding phones and folding laptops and all these useless features to attract more customers. These companies are so shameless!

I would believe someone would say, I am 100% loyal to apple. I was once working as a tobacco promoter to people that consumed tobacco at a convenience store, and the cashier asked who I'm allowed to engage with. I said that I'm only allowed to speak with people who are and I quote "hell yeah I smoke cigarettes!" 5 minutes later, a lady walks in and goes up to the cash register for some smokes. the cashier asked the lady if she was a smoker, and she said and I quote "hell yeah I smoke cigarettes!"

It's a bit bittersweet but rewarding to see that Intel is at this losing position right now... I remember last time I used Intel which was the i7 7700k which overheated no matter what and it was the same 4C 8T cpu than previous generation with no noticeable change in performance for 400$ in 2017... I don't remember cursing a company that much and wishing them a horrible...horrible journey, they had this coming 100%.

I don't want a PC not because of intel but because of Windows. Once I was in the middle of something important and I had to restart the PC, but on restart windows forced me through a full screen settings guide that I couldn't skip. Worst part is the settings guide basically just wanted me to purchase office and turn on windows data collection program, at the time I thought, "This is possible???"

I'm an avid Windows PC user and have owned windows laptops for decades. I cannot see anyone who is familiar with Apple OS buying Windows Laptop over an Apple one. I know these commercials want to live on the best-case scenario but stop kidding yourselves.

To me it comes off as a very make-believe, desperate move where Intel simply has nothing to brag about. As a CPU manufacturer, it's weird to see them hyping every other feature _except_ their CPUs. Its like they themselves have lost faith in their own product. They know they can't compete, so they try to point out any other features Apple lacks, even if those features are niche and lacklsutre. The actors don't help either.

One thing Marques got wrong, "Macs can't game not because of the chip", well, it's not 'only' because of the chip, but now that it's running ARM, u can't game, unless you consider "Mobile games" as games... Some of my friends with Intel Macs play Valorant on em with bootcamp.

I just got an intel ad before this video

as a windows user and intel user for 2 decades... i am never coming back, i own a 27" imac installed windows os and never looked back. the experience of owning apple imac is eye opener to what others have been doing. after 2+ years of owning a laptop or pc, you can see the difference of how slow it does after few years... it just throttles even not doing anything, open a couple of google chrome tabs and the fan just as loud as a jet... thanks intel... not anymore...

How none of them noticed a lack of any Command key, or how they didn’t realise that there was a Windows button is beyond me

My main complaint about my current i7 Intel NUC is that I can't upgrade the RAM. It's soldered on. It's even one of the "tall" NUCs. Ditto with my Lenovo X1 Carbon. Also stuck with 8GB RAM. "PCs are more upgradable" is totally not a thing.

Why would anyone use Windows knowing how much better Mac is?

One of the biggest things that has kept me on my MacBook Pro is audio latency. For most people it doesn’t matter. But as a DJ and sound engineer, I have never had an easy time doing audio work on Windows. I also always had issues with getting audio equipment to work correctly on Windows. With my Macs, I just plug it in half the time and it’s ready to go. Every computer has it’s use case, I still use Windows for gaming and my streaming/encoding rig. But there is no way that Intel or any chip manufacturer can get me off my Mac because Windows just sucks for audio work.

I use an intel Macbook Pro. If someone asked me what I wish my laptop had I'd say a higher refresh rate display. If I owned an apple silicon MacBook, I'd say I wish it could run Windows natively.

This is like the chevy commercials with all the awards for previous years but the people seem surprised because they didn’t realize the car, truck, suv, etc was a chevy.. It’s very disrespectful in that, they seem to believe the consumer is an idiot.

I think the biggest red flag is that everyone has the EXACT same reaction and opinion.

Intel is dead wrong. Most windows laptops ALSO have soldered RAM/SSDs and the newest Mac Pro is upgradeable.

😂 And so true! In India (here) the main opposition party has no 'platform' / selling point, so all they do is bash the party in power, (Which sucks incidentally) rather stupidly... Instead of hitting them where it hurts. Which really isn't hard! . ALL your points are spot on. And very funny too! . I don't get how Apple bashing benefits Intel especially as their processors are (as of now) in MacPros! Surely AMD bashing makes more sense? If any bashing be required... . 'Bashing' of any kind has to be done cleverly and manipulatively or not at all. Intel really need to review their marketing and advertising strategy (I have an idea but I ain't givin' it away free) else AMD will wipe them out. Equally, if AMD (and others) don't come out with something power efficient, they're dead too. Another RU-vidr expressed concerns about this and it really seems x86 / CISC / power hungry computing, is already a thing of the past.
