See, your ATACMS are soo effective that for over a month they hit no target and are all shot down by S-400s. There are literally hundreds of S-400 all over the front. ATACMS barely managed to hit 3ish, till S-400 operators tuned their system.
@@aniksamiurrahman6365I have no doubt the S-400 is a modern and effective piece of equipment. Plus, it's fairly inexpensive compared to western equivalents. One of the many reasons Turkey, and I believe India, went with them. According to this video, Russia had 57 S-400 in 2020 and produces several a year. So if those numbers are just in the correct ballpark, then no they don't have 100's all across the front. Besides, not all would be stationed in or near Ukraine. They have a vast border to protect, along with key cities and infrastructure. There's always the possibility of a nation, or non state actor, taking advantage of them being preoccupied with their invasion of Ukraine. As to ATACMS. I'm pretty sure, it's less then a month ago, that Ukraine used ATACMS, to great effect in the newly occupied area of Kharkiv, along with Belgorod. I'm sure there are newer instances, that I'm just not awhere of, or don't remember. You might not be a Russian Bot, or so you say. Most people have little understanding about Air Defence system and thus, easily fall for the hype of S-400 parroted by the bots. They fall for paper performance without realizing its real world implication. The S-400 became operational in 2007 and glorified for its 400 km engagement range - little do many realize that the SAM (40N6) with 380 km range didn’t become operational until very recently. They’re also unaware of the type of target(s) 40N6 is designed to engage. For nearly a decade, Russian outlets claimed 40N6 having Mach 14 speed with ‘anti-satellite’ capability - only when the missile went operational a year ago, the manufacturer’s data pointed a complete different reality - Mach 3.5 speed with smaller engagement altitude than PAC-3 MSE against ballistic missiles. And it’s designed specifically for non-maneuverable targets (AWACS, Bombers, UAVs, etc.) and not ideal for tactical Fighters. Against Fighter aircraft, S-400’s range actually shrink to a maximum of 200-250 km with 48N6E variants. This is not much different than the so-called "inferior" Patriot. For decades, outlets highlighted everytime Patriot failed, while ignoring its successes. In 4 years, Patriot in Saudi Arabia intercepted over 230 ballistic missiles - that’s more than 1 intercept every week. How many ballistic missiles or anything did S-400 intercept in last 15 years of service? Zero. People talk about Patriot’s failure in recent attack on Abqaiq oil refinery in Saudi Arabia, how it failed to intercept Iranian drones while overlooking S-400’s performance in Syria. The S-400 had been deployed in Russia’s Khmeimim air base in Syria since 2015 and that particular air base faced multiple drone attacks over last 3 years. There has been multiple failure to defend the air base against drone attacks, some resulting in Russian aircraft being damaged and personnel killed - yet the S-400 was never used to engage any UAVs despite repeated failure of point defence systems. These also highlighted serious flaws in Pantsir S1 - a system designed specifically to deal with such threats and Russian analysts reporting those flaws were forced to remove their posts. The US fielded PAC-3 with hit-to-kill warhead in 2000 as kinetic warheads are much more effective against hypersonic targets. Russia still relies on conventional fragmentation warhead and there’s no indication of it getting kinetic warhead anytime soon. At the same time people don’t look at Aegis platforms, which is the US equivalent of Strategic Air Defence system. The S-400’s pesa primary Search radar 91N6E is capable of detecting a 0.4 m2 ballistic target from 250 km. The Aegis’s now obsolete and non-AESA SPY-1D(v) reportedly “can track golf ball-sized targets at ranges in excess of 165 km.” Golf ball = 0.0025 m2. For a direct comparison, if you scale SPY-1D’s range to 0.4 m2, then it corresponds to 587 km - that’s more than twice the range of S-400 (91N6E). Unlike S-400’s overhyped 40N6, the SM-6 on Aegis with 260 km+ range can engage almost any endo-atmospheric target from sea-skimming cruise missiles, tactical aircraft to manoeuvrable ballistic missiles in their terminal stage. There’s nothing comparable to SM-3 in Russian service, the most tested exo-atmospheric interceptor with a range of 2,500 km. The Aegis BMD system have demonstrated its ability to engage targets over the horizon using targeting data coming from airborne platforms as part of Cooperative Engagement (NIFC-CA). SM-6 have engaged cruise missiles solely relying on targeting data from F-35 or E-2D. When was the last time you heard S-400 doing something like this?
^^Well said 😉 I also want to point out that Patriot was designed to fully integrate with various tactical defense platforms extending its capability substantially. In 1977 Patriot was integrated with HAWK & it has only improved since then.
A practical look at Air Defense, thanks for doing research and not just spouting off some dumb shit. I’m nowhere near an expert but holy fuck I must seem like a genius when compared with some of these Russian cope(rs) here.

Excellent video, this is what I had been thinking as well with regards to how ATACMS was so effective against S-400, glad to see that my hunch matches the reality.
Actually everything is effective against S-400. It is because it is just modernized variant of S-300, what was modernized variant of S-200. Destroyed in bulk in Iraq. It was not even designed to be better, but Russia lost ability to make many parts after fall of USSR. So it is just slightly more compact modernization. It is not even clear if Russia actually based it on fake anti-Stealth warfare concept or just engineers lied, as they tend to do in Russia.
What does stealth and missiles have anything to do with each other? There's no proof that either side's technology came out ahead. People like you are basically fanboys who lack any critical thinking abilities. Did you even watch the video? We don't know but assuming it was a saturation attack, even a PAC3 would fail. I think general the average person does not understand in war you have to expect losses in order to make gains. It is a matter of choosing how and when those losses vs gains will pay off in the long term that matters. Some comments appear as they expect one side or the other to never lose any assets and that is just not reality.
I think this video lacks the difference between S-300V and S-300P. S-400 is basically an upgraded S-300P, while S-300V was optimized against ballistic missiles.
The S400 system was approved for service in 2007. The ATACMS missile was first used in combat in 1991. Wasn’t the S400 supposed to shoot down missiles like ATACMS?
@@halliwedge Tell us all how you get the numbers of all the atacms launched and how many get intercepted? You made your view up. ergo. Your reality is fake and a small pile of wood.
The US only had 700-800 ATACMs because we haven’t been buying them for a while. The weapon that replaced the ATACMs has already arrived and is filling Army inventories as we speak. The PRSM or Precision Strike Missile. It is quite a bit more advanced than ATACMs and has a range of at least 310 miles but probably upwards of 550 miles the exact range is classified. And it can hit moving targets on land or sea. It was test fired against a decommissioned warship traveling at 20 knots and scored a direct hit. The CEP Circle area of probability is 1 meter. So draw a circle on the target 1 meter in diameter and the weapon will hit inside that circle. It’s incredibly accurate. ATACMs is at bad either it’s CEP is 3 meters especially the latest ones. But about the ATACMs we will probably wind up giving Ukraine about 80% of ours we will give them more as the PRSM is delivered or the Prism missile for short. It is a smaller missile too with the same size warhead so one HIMARS launcher can hold 2 Prisms as opposed to 1 ATACMs. But the US is not the only country that has ATACMs and I believe there is still a production line for them gone in the United States as it’s sold to allies. South Korea has a lot of them and they will probably give Ukraine some of them and some European Coumtries have it too I don’t know which ones off the top Of my head.
This is false. The US has 4000 ATACMS in their stockpiles and 500 a year are being manufactured at this very moment to fulfill an order that was placed in 2022. The US can keep giving ATACMS as long as they have funding.
Is there a new PrSM Increments 3 missile developed that increases range beyond 1000km and has a antiship capability as well as land attack. This missile should shake up the Russians.

1) The assumption that any F16's will "30 or 40 year old technology" assumes the planes have not gone through the myriad of upgrade programs the F16 has had available since its inception. 2) Any F16's a S400(or the single in existence S500) ever tracks may be operating in Wild Weasel tactics e.g. draw out out the targeting radar signal to send a HARM straight down the signal back to its hosts. 3) Additionally the range difference of the different bands of radar used by the S400 requires to function also comes into play.
This is what really scares Putin. Moscow & St.Petersberg use S-400 & S-500 missile and aircraft defence sysyems. But Ukraine has been taking them out with ease. The weapons that the West have, but as yet have not given Ukraine, will either take out the Russian defense systems or will just by-pass them to their targets.
The reason they're able to target them is western eyes in the black sea. The recon drones the US is sending is giving invaluable info to Ukraine. If Russia took them out it would be impossible for Ukraine to threaten crimea.
