Even if the US impose 200% tariff, it will not affect the Chinese manufacturer, after all it's the American public who's paying for the extra tariff for the sake of the US government trying to protect the local manufacturers.. US doesn’t even buy that much of EV’s and it wouldn’t because US consumers still likes those Fast and Furious type of cars, US produces oil and gas, US doesn’t have sufficient charging stations nor does it have enough charging facilities at home. If the excuse is US is preparing for the future investment then companies need to invest huge amount and wait, if ever very long time to get pay back. If Trump comes back he will just put brakes on green EV and invest in fracking. At the end I would advise China to let it go. Let US politicians do what it does.

When U.S. banned Huawei, Chinese dropped iPhone to buy Huawei, now Tesla, GM and Ford may see the same in Chinese market. Just hope Biden gets those few auto workers’ vote in November.

Why is it so hard for westerners to understand China? China's government does not "unfairly" subsidize car manufacturers, China's government has a mandate to support all manufacturing in China. As opposed to the United States who unfairly and unconstitutionally bailed out General Motors and Chrysler to support the UAW. What was the "national interest" to bailout domestic auto manufacturers when half of American citizens are buying made foreign cars? China just launched an electric sedan(IM L6) with a 130kwh semi-solid state battery and 600miles real world range. 0-60mph in less than 3 sec and top speed at 308km/h (191ph) Currently tops the chart in the world on Moose test for production vehicles at 90.65km/hr. Of course it also have autonomous driving on par with the latest version of Tesla FSD. and its battery is chemically NON-flamable. all for 35,000usd. Not only Chinese ev tech is superior it is also cheaper, simply because economies of scale and mature supply chains. The EV race is already over, and China has won. Anyone who don't think so is just in denial of reality.
