I really would love to see you work your magic on a sighthound. I just adopted a rescue galgo and am beginning this journey of learning through play. You inspire me so much, Matt!
Thanks for the video! I feel honored. I asked the question, because I was just curious to see. I would like to learn. If there were a TWC person in my area, I would go. If I lived in FL, I’d go also. $8k is too much for me to learn online. But I watched Ivan’s videos over and over and unfortunately I only had limited success.
Same for me. It's a dream of mine to get the TWC certification, I'm starting to save money for it because where I live no one even has a clue who Ivan is and nobody trains dogs like he does. I have both posession games and chase and catch, and like yourself, my results have been limited. Retrieving the toy being my main problem, my dog has a very nice chase instinct but does show very bored/reluctant body languange when coming back with the toy to me. I've tried a lot of different stuff, I'm always very active on the field with him, I make sure to look like an idiot running around and being part of the game but that didn't change anything too much. The only game I can get him very engaged in is 2 ball. I know Ivan does not encourage it but it's what I can do right now, and I think it is better than no game at all.
@@kindabad17 Can I train my dog with obedience and to be off-leash through the cornerstone collection alone without having to go through the certification course?
@@andresteward8226 The cornerstone collection teaches the play foundation in Ivan's work. The obedience comes very easily after that, if you know how to teach it right through those games. The cornerstone collection does not teach that obedience. You may have a dog that will play with you and ignore all competing reinforcers just from those videos. But that is not obedience trained. And you may have a dog that will need more to deal with competing reinforcers. The certification course is a complete dog training course. It takes you from the very beginning to the end so you can train any dog on a very high level. If you want your dog off-leash trained, I highly advise taking the certification course. It will blow your mind.
