Before you spend money on a Level 2 charger, I found that Level 1 charger works better for us. The daily commute is about 18 miles, that drains the battery to 5 to 9%. Normally when my wife gets home at 8 pm, she plug it in and by the time she leaves at 7 am in the morning, the charge level is about 90%, this is a good charging habit to keep the battery healthy for long run. The point is charging the battery to 90% instead of full. For lithium batteries, charging to full and let it stay full put the battery in less stable condition than 50 to 90%.
Just bought a 4xe because: 1. No gas only 4dr available 2. There is no benefit of the EV side. The 21 miles of EV range only equates to 1 gallon of gas, which is $3.49 right now. The charging station in our town is $3.40 per hour, and it will take 2 hours to fully charge 21 miles of range, WTF is the way to describe it. 3. The reasons for buying a 4xe is the power, it is quick, no question asked. The weight of battery pack at the back actually make the Jeep handles better than my 2018 JL v6. 4. The quiet of EV is priceless especially for a Jeep Wrangler which is normally slightly better than a lawnmower. 5. The acceleration, yes, for a giant brick, is impressive.
Brandon - Regarding your charging error. Your ground plug on the wall is upside down. That usually means that one of the outlet terminals is active when you flip a switch on a wall. That way you can plug in a lamp have it turn on and off by the wall switch instead of the switch on the lamp itself. I have found that the wall switch controlled outlet is the bottom one in my bedroom. Perhaps the bottom was not turned on so there was no power to it? When you plugged into the top one everything worked.
I am going to stick to level 1 charger. I really don’t care about using the EV part for daily commute, it is only equivalent to 1 gallon of gas. But I will charge it when going to have fun with it.
@@LilYeshuaJust don't buy a manual transmission.. there's an ongoing ever lasting Manual transmission fire risk recall that Jeep has been trying to fix for nearly 6 years.. I gave up after my 4th new clutch..
How comfortable is it?. I live in new york and it takes me over an hour to drive only 15 milles from work to home sometimes and hour and a half due to traffic. I think it makes sense because its a plug in hybrid but my concern is that i wont be comfortable at all.
The seat is pretty flat and firm but actually more comfortable than my Rogue was. I like that I can raise the seat up for a more natural angle. Only thing that would be tough in NY traffic is the stiffer gas pedal, the recharge mode is like engine braking which requires more gas pedal action because you don’t coast.
