The rolling stop is hilarious. The camera basically detects if there is any obstacle ahead so there is already a 'built-in' stop sign. Traffic laws are way behind the technology curve.
honestly trafic law and infrastructure in the US aren't even made properly for human to begin with so it's way more behind. just take a look at what it's like in the neatherland you hardly need to pay attention to the law on the road there becaus they make everything to be so intuitive.
People just misunderstand "rolling stops"... When you get to an intersection, you start doing a "California Roll" if there is a Stop sign, then stop at the sign.. If there is a traffic light, you go through on green. If the light is red, you can do a "rolling stop" to time the light to turn green to go through, but making sure there are no 'red-light runners"... It is a normal for many human drivers...

I wonder if maybe more accidents occur when somebody comes to a complete stop, and waits for the other car to get closer for a collision. I know that I seldom come to a complete stop, as it makes no sense if there are no cars coming. Hard and fast rules seldom work. Sometime when you come to a complete stop when it`s safe to go, you wind up waiting for a whole line of traffic to go past before you can go. I`ve only been driving about 70 years so maybe I`m all wet. I had been driving farm trucks and tractors before that though.

In the many video clips showing FSD turning to the right and not chosing the proper lane, I think we should sometime wonder if this is not the signalling itself that is totally confusing. As a human driver I often found myself in such situations in places I was visiting for the first time and couldn't make a clear decision on the spot about which lane was the right one between the curb, the bike lane, the bus lane, the car line I should take and the opposite car lane.
