Well thought out and explained in my humble opinion ! There was only one point I disagreed with you on and that was “not wanting your rivals to succeed”. I’m completely fine with Auburn winning every game they play every year as long as it’s not the Iron Bowl. Matter of fact I would PREFER it if Auburn won all their games every season because they would be adding immeasurably to the rivalry. Some folks get too caught up in wishing ill for a rival or different program. I'm not that way when it comes to other SEC schools, even a rival… RTR

We shall see but historically the next coach after such a winning program doesn't do well. My guess is he wasn't their first choice and I really think he should of stayed at UDUB. Backstabber

@@mr.cannon8231 well it seems to me the next coach after a legendary one doesn't do so well I can't name one. There's always a drop off even after Bear it wasn't until Stallings but they ran him off before he could build a dynasty.Gene was on his way and then it was yrs until Saban. Penn St, Nebraska they still haven't recovered from losing their legends. It took Ohio State and Michigan yrs too.

Only if your going off the past. Saban was even slipping in this new era. I don't see any team going forward being able to replicate what Saban did in this new era and that includes Saban himself. Saban still has his hands in the program more than people think and will do whatever it takes to help Bama & Deboer succeed. Don't be surprised if he's even at Bama's big games and only a text or communication away from giving Deboer & Womack advice.
