I for sure know with all the details they gave away from type of surgery ,length of stay in hospital, recovery period and protecting the children from the news gave it all away. Yes its major surgery but very much a common procedure surgery women have due to heavy periods, not having to worry about contraception ...but most of your family is complete.???

In America, we can take a 90-day leave of absence for major surgery and doctors' permission. So it's quite normal for a 90-day leave. I had abdominal surgery myself. I awoke in recovery with 50 staples in my abdomen. Recovery was extremely difficult and painful! I was in surgery for 5 hours and hospital stay for 5 days. It is difficult to get in and out of bed and chairs. Princess Catherine's doctor probably felt to keep her around with full nursing staff for an extra 5 days. I am sure her doctors know best. The major news agencies should stop speculating about Princess Catherine condition and whipping up public anger about her surgery and King Charles III procedure. May God bless them both to fully recover.

If they really wanted privacy then would have kept it quit. From the fact it was a planned surgery and the length of time in hospital and recovery it sounds like a hysterectomy. Whatever it is she will get the best possible care

That’s insane amount of time to recover from any surgery. Two weeks and you should be fine

Yeah, I’m sorry but a C-section is one of the most extreme abdominal surgeries you can have and they tell you you’re pretty much good to go after six weeks. You’re not, but they expect you to be.

Your recovery time depends on a multitude of factors. Your anesthesiologist would not say this.

Speculating is normal and just part of human nature....of course she will get privacy.

I had complete abdominal hysterectomy and went home after 2 days in the hospital. The initial recovery period before I could go back to work, a desk job, was 6 weeks. My recovery went so well I was released and back to work in three. Three months recuperation for abdominal surgery seems abnormally long to me as does 10-14 days in the hospital especially considering she is a young and otherwise healthy.

@@ellen5165 are you a doctor? As you have said your surgery is abdominal hysteroctomy. Is this also the type of surgery Princess Kate went through? I think the length of recuperation it depends on what type of surgery and illness the patient has. Also Kate is a princess, extra caution must be provided if I were her, I would personally ask my doctor to stay longer in the hospital until i feel comfy to go home. I could even stay for one month. My mother is a doctor and she has lots of knowledge about this. Yours could be a simple surgery.

@@marvib100 I have no idea what kind of surgery she had, just suggesting that based on my personal experience 2-3 months for recovery and 10-14 days in hospital after abdominal surgery was rather lengthy. Not a doctor but was an RN who worked in the operating room in my first career so I'm aware there are many types and levels of abdominal surgery. Of course medical care for a princess would be a lot different than for an ordinary person like me.

@Dew-15 well, maybe hers is more serious? I don't know. I think it's human nature to want to know what is going on, but we're never going to know. Obviously it's serious enough to be in the hospital for 2 weeks and then out of circulation for several more months.
