Avataryaya Yeah. I'm looking into other games to make it worthwhile but it mostly collects dust when I'm not playing DDD. And I may keep the original game anyway as I don't care that much about the remaster.
Matt Gray Eh, I like the soundtrack and higher resolution text and some of the graphics on 2.5 better. Otherwise, yeah. 2FM on emulator was amazing for me.
Me too. So happy it's actually coming out to PS4 in the first place. I had a PS3 and I had those games but I had to sell them to get a PS4 so that I can play KH2.8, KH3, and FFXV. Felt like a sacrifice. Now with this release, for me it's like I get to play those games again! On my current PS4 console which is even better! Sacrifice was worth it.
Thank you so much Dean for opening my eyes to the idea of 1.5+2.5 PS4. I was one of those people not happy with this collection because we already had them and been living in the past for the KH series for a few years now. However, watching this video and hearing your opinion and facts has drastically shown me that I was wrong. So much I didn't think about or care because I wanted new content really bad but after watching this video I feel silly and admitting ashamed for thinking that way about my favorite gaming series. You have made me extremely excited for this collection when I previously wasn't thank you.
If people think this is a bad thing that they are for coming out PS4 after this, I honestly don't know what to tell them besides "if you don't want the remaster then don't buy it". Another great video Dean!
It's not bad in theory that it comes out, but people like me that were burned by 1.5 and 2.5's glitches and bugs (most of which were SO OBVIOUS to find) makes me not want to support these ports the second time around.
LimitForm72 This is meant for people like me, I don't think SE is trying to get a lot of sales out of these. I have been a fan of the game ever since it came out 15 years ago. I never got to play Birth by Sleep so now I have a chance to do so. :3 I'm happy SE decided to bring the remaster to PS4 as I never got a PS3 either.
Trust me, even if you see the PS3 versions being cheaper, wait for this version. 2FM on 2.5 has so many glaring issues it's a giant mess (and 1FM letting you skip cutscenes might crash the game). I'd wait a week to see if those bugs are ironed out in the PS4 version, then totally get that.
UltimaKeyMaster I don't plan on buying the PS3, so I won't be getting that version. I've heard of the problems as well. Also, the PS4 version will be 60 FPS, so I have zero reasons to buy the PS3 version at this point.
We'd have less people bitching about 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 "delaying KH3" if we didn't have fucking IGN inciting people to believe that KH3 is being delayed in the first place
We never remotely got a release date, how can it be "delayed" anyway? Square did the smart thing from day 1 of showing it always going "IN DEVELOPMENT" no matter what trailer they put out.
ign support fucking fps and ruined jrpg...They only give gravity rush 2 a 8 but gamespot gave a 9....is not matter but I mean they hate jrpg...that's why jrpg has their downfall...Some bitches only support the witcher 3..from me it seem boring...anyways kh3 maybe release this year...check amazon
I bet without a doubt, that the entire collection will eventually move onto Xbone. It's just the smartest business decision for Square, though I bet also that it will be upwards to a year after KH3.
+LIL LIL MANE You forgot to mention that was 1st week UK sales. FF Type-0 sold the same thing as well in the UK. Anyone expecting these JRPG's to sell great on Xbox is ignorant.
Tfw you have been a KH fan since the beginning and bought all the games at retail price AND their different consoles BUT SEE PEOPLE STILL COMPLAIN ABOUT 1.5 + 2.5!! Do they even know how much $ they are saving!?
Lulexiaa I totally agree with you! Sadly I can't experience the PS4 games because Mom says no more consoles (someone stole our PS2) but I grew up on PSX, PS2, as well as PS3 and I bought all of the KH games available for PS2&3. People with a PS4, you're fucking lucky as hell!
I do see your point though, although I've never had these problems too much, yeah I can't overlook the fact that the PS3 versions could've used some more fine tuning
I haven't played Kingdom Hearts since I was 9-10 years old, and this re-release gave me the opportunity to play the rest of the series and beat KH1 for the very first time. And with your videos, I was able to beat Sephiroth and Unknown, bosses I never even got to see when I was a kid. Thank you so much for the help & keep up the good work, consider me subbed.
Oh yes, it's a great idea to keep Kingdom Hearts 1.5/2.5 a PlayStation exclusive when Square Enix could have also release the collections on the Xbox One so the Xbox gamers could catch up on the convoluted story before playing Kingdom Hearts 3. But hey, who cares about Xbox and the potential fans the series could have gotten. Missed opportunity. Square Enix are dumb.
I guess neither do Nintendo fans that bought all the silly handheld games...you know, the handheld games that on Nintendo platforms alone *outnumber the other definitely canon things in the franchise.* If you REALLY want to count Chi, then there are just as many Kingdom Hearts games on Nintendo platforms as there are non-Nintendo platform games. But fuck Nintendo fans too right just because they might not have a PlayStation? Not like I want to play FF15 on the Xbox One or anyth-oh wait, my One copy is sitting right next to me because FF is allowed to have those, even for the 13 sequels no one wanted.
Ya, they better go with the difficulty trophies stacking like they did with 2.5 (1.5 you had to beat the game three times on each difficulty to get each trophy related difficulty, instead of just playing on Proud and unlocking all 3 of them).
***** Trust me, I know. I'm literally just about to fight Marluxia on my Beginner playthrough as I type this, which will leave me with just the Sora Standard playthrough left (I did both on Proud initially and did Riku's difficulty trophies first since his story mode is quicker), and I currently have Proud Mode Riku up to level 80. I just consider Sora and Riku's playthroughs as one playthrough though since playing one only gives half of the story. I don't even want to think about the Beginner and Proud playthroughs I have left for KH1... 1.5 certainly has more stupid useless trophies than 2.5 like "have X amount of money or moogle points on hand even though you'd have no reason to do so" or changing the deck 500 seperate times in Re:CoM or whatever. Platting Birth By Sleep was much less of a pain in my ass (Mysterious Figure was a bullshit boss though), and I imagine the same will be true with KH2 and eventually 0.2 BBS and Chi...and hopefully 3D (although I'd bet they'll do stupid trophies attached to playing with the Dream Eaters).
Kingdom Hearts I isn't as bad as the others. I'm sitting at 98%. Looking at you gummy blueprint. My first play through was proud and I finished it 100%. That left the standard, beginner, no continue, time limit and staying with the kingdom key oh the gummy trophy as well. So I did standard while I did beginner. With beginner I just the time limit no continue and not changing the key blade at once.
I'm only mad about the PS4 verson for two reasons. One after years of being told they would never of been on the PS4 I broke down and bought a PS3 2 months before the announcement. 2nd was Days and ReCoded still weren't playable
I had a PS3 any way for other games but yeah I get what you mean. you buy something that is available then all of a sudden they tell you AFTER you bought something you already have on a different plat form. yeah that does in a way piss a lot of people off especially thanks to misguided announcements. I think they do that on purpose to make more money. I mean I like Square Onix and what they do but everything I see what they do is all about money grabbing which is not supporting the people at all, just their company. At least that how I feel.
***** Reelando to be honest I probly wouldn't even have a PS4 right now if I had t won it at Taco Bell back in 2015. But since PS3 games arent playable on PS4 and at the time we didn't know it was coming I bought the PS3 just so I could play those two games. But since I already own the 3 ps2 versons I guess having another copy isn't so bad. But I still need a ds to play Days and Recoded so if they make 1.6 and 2.6 they need to those two playable
they had said there were "no plans" for Dream Drop Distance HD. Now we are about to get 2.8. They had also said there were "no plans" to put 1.5 and 2.5 on PS4. Now we're also expecting that. At this point, I would say "no plans" in Square language directly translates to "it's gonna happen soon".
People seem to forget that 1.5+2.5 on PS4 will largely benefit the speedrunning community as well. Since PS4 requires data installs, loading times will be reduced significantly (in theory). With a PS4 Pro and SSD drive, those loading times will be reduced down even further. In FFXV, there is more than a 50% decease in loading times when using an SSD vs the stock Pro HDD. This potential decrease in loading times can help speedrunners set new records and PB's without having to worry about drive loading issues, crashes, and loading screen issues. This new remix is a win win for everyone
I think people just either don't know or don't care. I care though! I just don't want people to write off the problems as "speedrunner problems", because I honestly believe this is everyones problem.
Thank you for the upload! I totally agree with you, by the way, the entire franchise on a single console is a dream come true for fans and newcomers alike. Happy new year! PS: Just so you know, I'm from Brazil and I share your videos quite a lot on Brazillian KH communities, you're gonna have a little BR fanbase real soon.
i got into kh when i was 12 but i got into it by watching all the cutsceanes and gameplay on youtube cause i never had a ps3, the fact that now im 16 and i have a ps4 and im gonna be able to finally play all the games makes me feel happy that ill finally be able to expierience the game
I really can't wait to get those remakes on the PS4, even thought I have them already on the PS3. Just thinking about all the games running in 60fps (at least) and having hopefully all the bugs from the past fixed, makes it even better. With 2.8 coming out soon and the 1.5/2.5 remixes, this year is gonna be awesome!
Really great video! Honestly, I've only played HALF of a kingdom hearts game when I was younger. I loved it but never had chance to finish any of them, so seeing a full collection on one console is brilliant news for me. I can't wait to buy it!
You're one of the lucky bunch, then. Doesn't change the fact that these problems do exist in your copy, somewhere in the code and you could encounter them any day now.
Duuuuuude! When the Drive Form is loading you can use that as an exploit during super bosses. You're invincible during the loading sequence which is awesome!
TopHatLucario As much as I hate waiting for Sora the explorer to pop out of his bubble, I can admit the glitch is great for exploiting superbosses at times
That's...that's not an exploit, you're *supposed* to be invincible while it's loading. Really, you shouldn't have to be testing that, because you should only need to load for enough time for enemies to *still be in the air* from the explosion by the time it's done. That's how it worked in the PS2 versions.
UltimaKeyMaster It's an exploit as the times you would usually last in the bubble are minimal, so when the game tries loading in the form you choose, you usually can wait in the loading process till the boss is done with their attack. It's bad programming on their part but it has its uses
TopHatLucario it really isn't an exploit though, the longer loading times make it worse, when you go into a drive form, you get invincibility frames yes, but all enemies are also launched into the air, the transformation is supposed to be finished BEFORE they hit the ground so you can counterattack, but because the loading times are longer, that means it doesn't work as intended, so even if the long load times give you more invincibility frames, if an enemy is still attacking you by the time the transformation is over, you're gonna get hit, so the longer load times in no way benefits the player at all
I think I remember fiery Joker Mentioning in his Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix LP that Kingdom Hearts 1 did crash on him during the credits and never could see post credit scenes.
It had been years since I've owned a console and I literally bought a PS4 just for this collection and 2.8 haha, I'm so glad to have the whole series on PS4 now, and even happier to know KH3 will be on this same console as well. I used to spend hours and hours playing BBS on the PSP, Days on the NDS, and KH1, RE:Com, and 2 on the old PS2 years ago, and it's amazing to get to have all that on literally one disc now (and getting to try the Final Mix versions for the first time ever!!! I love all the additional cutscenes and battles). DDD and 0.2 had also been the only KH games I hadn't ever been able to play for myself (along with Re:Coded, but at least the collection still had the cutscenes), so I was thrilled to try those on the PS4 as well. Playing BBS on a TV instead of the little PSP screen made me so happy too. Really, I'm glad Nomura decided he wanted to have all of KH on one console, awesome decision, and I've been able to get a couple other people into the series recently too thanks to this!
No it isn't. Xbox is known for inconsistent Japanese releases and KH3 co-director Tai Yasue said that KH3 can be enjoyed as a single experience without playing the past games.
they wouldn't sell too well, RPGs and Japanese games were never big sellers on the XOne (the xbox brand was always a failure on sales on japan), that's why both FF15 and FFType-0 sold 80% of their copies on PS4 while only 20% of the units were sold on the XOne, if you don't believe me use google and you'll see.
Ouch! I did notice some laggings while playing 2.5, but I never noticed them to be THAT bad!! In that case, I sincerely hope they fix all those bugs in the PS4 version, 'cause I will buy it and I want to see everything and feel as if I really was in the game! Anyway, thank you for the update and happy new year to you too!!
superadam66 You'll be well off politely tweeting them about the issues and getting other people to do the same. We live in a world where that can cause change.
I am definitely glad 1.5 and 2.5 are going to be on the PS4 for new fans to start, and I agree on your statements on why this is a good idea. While I don't remember running into major issues on both compilations, except the load times and Xemnas final boss fight in 2.5, I am still planning on getting these games again. However, I wanna wait and see what you and the rest of the community think if they made major improvements for these new ports.
This is an awsome video I just recently bought 1.5 and 2.5 for ps4 to prepare myself for kh3 love the breaking it down the good more than the bad keep it up
I am someone who only has a PS4, and I've never played Kingdom Hearts before. I just became interested in it and am so excited to see this compilation come out, so I can get started!
I had a PS2 and played the originals back in early 00's. I didn't owned a PS3 but now I have a PS4. I really want to come back into the series because it's been over 15 years since i've played these games. I can not wait to relive all of KH and get ready for KH3
Oh my god, I didn't realize that the reaction command response (or lackthereof) during the Xemnas battle was a glitch! It's been driving me nuts!! I had never remembered it being so difficult before, but figured I must have gotten lucky or something when playing the original version of the game. Anyway, I think another neat thing about these games being on PS4 is that perhaps SE *would* be more likely to apply patches where needed. We've already seen them do this with FFXV. It seems like they're taking a more mature approach to development with some of the most recent games they've developed.
Never played any kingdom hearts always wanted to get into the series. I'm putting Down the 110 dollars to get into the series hope I don't end up regretting it.
I found your channel and this vid while looking up tips on the data fights while playing the ps4 release of 1.5 and 2.5. I AM that gamer you described. I grew up playing 1, CoM and 2 but never touched any of the other games or re releases. my ps3 broke within months of me getting my 4 and I had no way of playing and catching up with the series until now. I have not had any crashes so far and have beaten 3 out of 4 of the games on 1.5+2.5, drive forms come out great and I've only noticed a slight stutter when opening chests occasionally. I would say they fixed all the problems with the first releases of 1.5 and 2.5 with this ps4 collection. P.s. thanks for all your tips!
I was wishing for a console version of BBS like last week because I haven't seen my PSP in like 4-5 years and really wanted to replay BBS, and here it is PLUS ALL THE OTHER GOOD STUFF I HAVENT PLAYED SINCE I WAS LIKE 10 OR 11. Can't wait for this dream bundle
Just came across this video on the PS4 subreddit. I want to say you're completely accurate in what you say and I'm proof of it. I played the first Kingdom Hearts back on PS2 when it was first released and I had a blast with that game. Life got busy and I hadn't played many console games since that time but this Christmas I got a PS4. I've been looking for some games to pick up to start my collection and I saw these Kingdom Hearts titles and immediately remembered how much fun I had playing the first. I never played any but that one but now that I know I can buy these two releases and play through everything that I need to in order to get caught up for the third I'm thrilled. It's such a great way for me to get back into the series. Just my 2 cents, I know my story is probably very different from all the fans who have played through all of the games and are much more passionate about this IP, but I think it's important for people to see a different viewpoint on these releases.
This might just be me but it adds the ability to bring more KH RU-vidrs into the community. With the PS4's internal capture card, KH fans could start making videos straight from their PS4.
+Soraalam1 my PS3 had a problem with KH2.5 where randomly when I play KH2 it will go back to the game selection screen on the disc losing possible data
FINALLY! Someone to clarify all those shenanigans with a gazillion different versions of Kingdom Hearts. I needed a simple answer - WHAT do I need to get in order to experience all the games and I got it here. Thank you! I've never played any of the games and those 2 compilations will bring me right up to speed, perfect!
I really am glad 1.5 remix plus 2.5 remix is being released on ps4 as it gives a chance for new kingdom hearts fans to enjoy the entire franchise, without having to purchase multiple consoles. I, myself, will be buying this bundle along with 2.8 and kh 3 when they release.
I always wanted the 60fps 1.5 and 2.5 so thats cool as long as they fix the current issues with 2.5 i only really ever experienced the freezing long load times and the xemnas reaction commands but man those load times :(
so can i just play kingdom hearts final mix and kingdom hearts 2 final mix or do i need to play all those in between games like 358/2 days and re:chian of memories etc
358/2 is the story of the organization while Sora is sleeping between KH1 and KH2. Re:chain of memories is after KH1 but before 358/2 days. KH1>Chain of Memories>358/2 Days>KH2>Birth By Sleep>Re:Coded>Dream Drop Distance>Birth By Sleep 0.2> Back Cover That is the order of events of the games. They all tie into one another in ways. Though 358/2 days really is just talking about the members of the organization and who they are, it's not significant stuff. But it's nice if you want to get to know them more.
I played kingdom hearts 2 a lot until I lost it as a kid, and I've always wanted to get into it, but with it being split across all consoles I gave up, but now that I have a PS4 I'm really excited to get into now
I was about to rant about the loading times being the biggest change I want for the PS4, but I backspaced everything when you brought it up thankfully. The other thing, which will never happen, is I'd like to hear the original soundtrack for Kingdom Hearts 2. The rework sounded great but Square's unique synthetic music was so cool and fit the game to me.
I like where you are coming from. Plus, for me, I've actually wanted to get into the KH series, but the last PlayStation i had that could play them was the PS2, and I only had kingdom hearts 1 to play. To top it off, its disc drive stopped working long before kingdom hearts 2 was even announced, so I fell out of the series prematurely. Now that I have a PS4, the port let's me finally catch up on a series I desperately wanted to experience. I know this video is about 5-6 months old, but I just wanted to express that I'm thankful for the KH1 and KH2 port. My only complaint is it didn't include more games like dream drop distance, something I would have liked to try, but that's a minor complaint. I didn't have a single crash in KH1FM on PS4 even so it felt almost no different then when I had it originally on the PS2. However, I won't feel right buying 2.8 until I've done everything this collection has to offer, minus the super bosses, as while I'm ok with post game content, getting together good gear to do them in KH1 at least takes a lot of effort...
I, for one, am over joyed that they're making 1.5 + 2.5 remix on ps4 because I never got a ps3 as at the time I was still in school and had no money, but now I have a ps4 and I am so pumped to be able to play all of my favourite games again including the ones I haven't played before (KH2FM, KHCOM, KH358/2days) so this year I will be picking up both 2.8 and 1.5+2.5 for ps4. Ps4 is my favourite console to date and this year there are countless incredible games coming for us!
Loving the background gameplay since everything was done on critical mode with the kingdom key. I started a Kingdom Hearts 1.5 FM kingdom key challenge for myself on proud mode taking the shield letting go the sword. Damn it is very challenging since major abilities for the shield won't be unlocked until around level 36.
I randomly got interested in this franchise and was looking for a way to get up to date with all its entries. I do own a PS3 and PS4 but I'm very glad I found this video that taught me to simply wait for the upcoming ps4 collection. Don't think I would have known that the ps3 ones were buggy had I not seen this.
I was one of the people who sold their PS3 before 1.5 and 2.5 came out in order to get my PS4. So I never got a chance to play them and I never played them on ps2. So I'm glad they're bringing it out for PS4
As a ps4 owner, but not a ps3 owner, who is also a fan of Kingdom Hearts, but who has only played KH II and a little bit of 358/2 days, this collection is a god send. For Christmas my friend already preordered it for me and already preordered 2.8. So yes I am in support of this.
I only played bits of the original KH 16+ years ago helping my ex gfs nephew and never got my own copy. Fast forward to 1/11/2019 and my 1.5 - 2.5 PS4 copy is downloading the update as I type! So glad it came to PS4 because I am curious about KH3. This weekend will be magical I hope!
The part I'm mad about is the amount of work I put into 2.5. I got mostly every unlock-ables/ beat the secret bosses and now I have to start all over unless they have cross platform save. Lingering Will was the death of me
I'm personally thrilled about this coming to ps4 I had only owned Kingdom Hearts 1-2 for the ps2 chain of memories for the gba and dream drop for the 3ds I never owned a ps3, psp or vita so I was really ticked off about missing out on this games fantastic story but thank goodness they solved my issue with this.
