The grease zerk on the hitch is a great idea especially with the weight it will be pulling. Like all the led lights and light strips, looks like a very well thought out machine.
hey wes.. we been running our 1270 for the past 2 weeks and it has not missed one knot it is running so well.. and the header is just fantastic. we are picking up 50 foot rows of hay at an average speed of 14 kph.. last night I was pushing it on to about 18 kph cause there was rain for cast and no trouble even climbing big hills here in new zealand
We just purchased a Krone EasyCut CV last summer and loved it. We have not had any issues with it, we obviously don't cut as much hay in NH as you do, but we do farm rocks.... The way the head is design to float is a great design and follows the ground so much better. Anyways we went with the Krone because it really was built better, it seems like there engineering department actually works for a living, and stuff is easy accessible. Nothing is worst than working on something simple and having to move several things out of the way to get to the broken part. Hopefully it works out for you without any issues.
Nice baler Wes! Hope it works out well this year and beyond. I would mention the partial bale in the chamber and the machine not being cleaned to the dealer, probably won't strike a nerve with them, but it would strike my last nerve to take delivery of a hogged up machine, especially when you sent them a clean one! I would be ashamed to send someone a machine like that! Better get those horseshoes on the rafters turned right side up or all of the luck will run out!....RIGHT TIM??!!!
I am impressed with the Krone, the simplicity is a big plus and what is mind blowing is the thick steel used everywhere, no steel plate where you need strength, that is the tank of balers
+Jan Kotze Jan, Remember I have been telling you just how well built the Krone products really are? Like this 1290 baler of Wes's just to cope with the high baling pressure, Krone has kitted out its balers with around 2.5 tonnes more steel, the large, reinforced yoke is designed to cope with exceptionally high loads, six hydraulic rams generate the force on the side walls, delivering rock-solid big bales, no other baler on the market is built as solidly as the Krone baler that's why all the real big hay baling contractors just keep buying the Krone product!
+heyhey1956 Ya, as a big New Holland tractor and equipment fan I slowly and skeptical look at the Krone, now I can honestly regret I was wrong, well done to Krone with their equipment.
looks like a good machine sometimes you got to step outside of box to get some of these big manufacturers attention. you seem excited and we all happy for you!!
Just watched ' krone big baler ' it's a promo video from Krone , and it really helps non farmers to understand how a baler works , and to understand what Wes is talking about at times .
Having run some German equipment over the years, it always seems SO much better thought out than comparable equipment built anywhere else in the world. It always seems to be simpler, more rugged and reliable, and does a superior job. Gotta love that German engineering... Later! OL J R :)
I am anxious to see this baler in action. I am a new customer to Krone as well although I didn't spend nearly as much as you did. I bought a AM 283S cutter and I'm anxious to get it in the field as well.
my father watches you every day after work your videos are playing all day every day on the computer in the kitchen an on the laptop in his room at the same time lol
smoke filters. Hopefully no issues the entire ownership! Just remember to order a new one a year in advance before trading this one in. Great overview video!
Those steps look to be perfect height from the ground, because you don't want anything ripping it off. Your class A or 8 tractor has the same height for steps on the fuel tank or battery box.
so with the hydrolic start on the Krone, is the 8120 going to be strong enough to keep it going and pull it or are you still considering a slightly larger tractor? Very nice piece of equipment, can't wait to see it in action! Thanks OLF!
How much trouble to get that bale out? I'd clean up the machine so it was nice and ready to go when the season comes. Take care of yourself Wes, still coughing a little.
Not a Farmer but understand a lot about it. Your heavy duty choice although expensive it looks stout! And you have had load of not stout enough. so think your choice was a good one.
Wes, a question about the plunger; is it a mechanically timed trip mechanism or electrically activated by a solenoid? Maybe correct terminology is stuffer instead of plunger?
Nice baler, I'd like to see the hydraulic start work, and if you pull the remote the other way will it reverse the baler, if it does it would be handy to unplug the baler
Question , will you be taking Krone as your last name or keep yours after the wedding. Glad to see you happy and not having to fix something for once. Oh and if I was your Krone dealer my butt would be at your farm with a team cleaning that machine with a smile on my face.
Why doesn't your Dad go ahead and have his knees replaced. Hell it's so easy to see that he loves working with you and Tim. It's really not a long recovery time anymore.
+xle5363 He could become a designer, engineer also. He has experience with machines and done dirty work...he knows what works and what does not. The designers at New Holland have probably ran a farm machine in their life..probably straight out of college.
ya gunna give ner a clean for the year coming on the add they clean them with a weed wacker. and how come you wont tell us wes how many bails have been thru this one?
