It’s hard to fathom that this is classified as just a lake. It is literally a sea

I saw Lake Superior for the first time in 2013. 1500 miles from the Pacific, 1000 from the Atlantic and suddenly this gigantic freshwater ocean smack in the middle of the country that's a day I'll never forget...

Like Caspian Sea. It is not a sea but a vast lake. When it swells like a sea.

I spend a lot of time on Lake Superior. When I’m away I miss it. It’s a special place. It’s hard to explain.

I learned that some countries’ geography classes teach people that Lake Titicaca & Lake Superior are on the same continent.

@992Eirini
@992Eirini 2 года назад
It's not salty but polluting from runoff probably doesn't help it remain drinkable
@TheSmashten

You could survive off it yes
@Doc_Fun
@Doc_Fun 11 месяцев назад
@@992Eirini it's actually pretty clean as far as the great lakes go. Because it's pretty sparsely populated it just hasn't had much in the way of runoff. That said, if it ever does get majorly polluted, it's going to be a disaster since it takes about 170 years for water to completely cycle out of Superior.
