Ever wondered why you can see lions chilling next to your safari jeep? This video busts the myth that lions are just used to tourists. The real reason is way cooler! We'll reveal why lions see your jeep as a giant, unappetizing mystery, not a yummy lunch. But step outside that vehicle, and things get REAL!

I just watched a Rhinoceros turn a safari SUV into a trash can so idk about this. Even if it worked on lions I ain't testing it out. And if I see a rhino that foot ain't coming off the gas pedal.

Intellect requires abstract thoughts which requires a shit load of energy thay dogs did not evolve to acquire. Even if we blatantly ignore biological facts animals like dogs still aren't smart from what I've seen as they basically just copy what you train them to do. The analogy would be an idiot that can perfectly follow instructions but is shit at doing anything by himself. This isn't exactly the case with all animals but my dog for example frequently gets himself stuck everywhere I'm not looking and constantly requires some sort of aid. It isnt happening all the time but he is quite stupid. I still love him though.

As a South African who has spent a considerable amount of time in the bush, I can firmly tell you that animals do distinguish you from the vehicle. I have made direct eye contact with many animals sitting at the back of a game viewer. I would say the reason they don't attack is because they are confused/hesitant due to the large vehicle with humans stuffed inside, or because they are familiar with vehicles driving close to them and don't see them as a threat. It still has its risks though and allowing lions that close is pushing it a bit.

@@girishkamath642 100%. This narrative can cause the viewers to get the get the wrong idea. The vehicle is not some safe haven where animals cannot touch you. You're right - plus lions are always very wary of getting injured themselves so tend to go for easy, known kills (this next part i did already post tho i thought I'd copy & paste it here as it ties in to your answer so well)...... I remember seeing a documentary about an African tribe who hunt on foot and they said the best way to deter a lion close by from attacking was to maintain eye contact, then crouch down, hold your spear or a large stick vertical on your head and then quickly stand up again - it apparently confuses the lion into thinking the spear/stick is part of you and that you're a much bigger animal than they first realised.

Cheetahs 🐆 don’t attack humans. They’re pretty much like nervous , big dogs. And they pair well with Golden Retrievers especially in zoos. The dogs apparently help to keep the cheetahs nerves in check. There was a game warden somewhere (South Africa I think) where cheetahs came and started sleeping with him at night. His coworkers thought he was making it up until they saw the footage. The cheetahs were super cuddly.

@konjurekatrina
@konjurekatrina 3 месяца назад
@@quilmoney6100 I could only find 2 incidents of cheetah attacks that ended in a fatality. The first being a 3 year old toddler who was left unattended in a Tiger Breeding facility, in South Africa. The other was some nut job in Belgium (ironically named Karen)who hid in the zoo until after it closed. And then she snuck into the enclosure of a cheetah she had adopted. The first incident is terribly tragic and the fault of the child’s idiot parents or guardians who thought it was a great idea to bring a 3 year old child to a film maker’s home that was also tiger breeding facility in South Africa. I’ve seen a lot of footage of White South Africans doing idiotic things with wild animals. Like the guy who was convinced he and a male rhinoceros that lived down river from him, were “friends”. He thought it was great fun to “ride” the rhinoceros in the river. Well, he thought it was great fun, until the rhinoceros killed him. The other, non lethal attacks of humans by cheetahs: the humans seemed to think they were no “big deal”. They got the distinct impression that the cheetahs were playing. Apparently both cheetahs and domestic cats play in the same way. They combine play behaviors and predatory instincts. So sometimes playing with a domestic cat can result in a scratch or a bite. The same thing can happen with a cheetah. I saw the footage of another game warden who wanted to study night time cheetah behavior. One of the cheetahs had a previous injury and she didn’t have great control of her bite strength. So he wouldn’t play with her in the same way he played with the other cheetahs. They were all snugly with him at night. One cheetah insisted on being his pillow. He didn’t get any more than a couple of minutes of sleep each night. The cheetahs were super excited he was there and pretty playful.

@@quilmoney6100…and yet you were never actually attacked, were you? Serious cheetah attacks on humans are so rare that they’re almost statistically irrelevant. (In other words, they essentially never happen.) Pretty much ALL cats exhibit the behavior you described. My cats literally do the exact same thing when they want to play. …and they’d never dream of actually hurting me. Lol Also, cheetahs aren’t the same type of ambush predator as leopards or jags. Cheetahs don’t have that same instinctive “trigger” when you turn your back on them. Lots of cheetah caretakers have shown this in experiments that you can find on RU-vid. (Dolph Volker is a good one) I have friends in South Africa who specialize in cheetah conservation and from what I can tell, cheetahs are some of the most chill cats in the whole feline family. As OP said, cheetahs are literally so sensitive that they often need emotional support dogs when living in captivity. …and regardless of the dog’s size, it’s almost always the alpha of the relationship. 😂 Cheetahs are quite timid cats because of their place in the food chain. …and even if one were to attack, it would have a hard time actually killing you. Their claws aren’t really sharp and they have a much smaller head with much less bite force in the jaw. They are also not NEARLY as strong as other cats their size. All they can do is run fast for short bursts and choke out smaller animals. They can’t tear you apart like a lion or cougar. Sounds to me like you were just nervous because it was a “big scary cat” and you didn’t know a whole lot about that specific type of cat’s behavior.

This is half right and half true. The actual reason is that these businesses park those vehicles in the predators' habitat for a few hours. They explore the vehicle & then get bored, thinking it's some massive being that isn't aggressive; so the next time they see it, they're not very interested because it's a silhouette & smell that they are already used to and bored of. That's why people on the vehicle are demanded not to stand up to take pics as this will lead to the disturbance of the silhouette and therefore, new interest from the predators. It's not that they can't distinguish between the car and the humans, it's that they're not interested enough to care. Like, do you open every single one of your cupboards / look underneath every single furniture every day to check if there's something new up or down there? No.

@_123Ackerman
@_123Ackerman 3 месяца назад
nah sometimes they are right too they are not wrong everytime . So by observing an animal you can know what he might do or not For exemple I knew 2 cat I beleive they were abandoned sometimes I even let them go into my appartment Even when they was friendly One of them I know for sure I have to wear a jeans and put shoes because I know if I keep walking to close of him he will bite me So of course I didn't read his mind or know what he was thinking but I knew this detail about him and I could tell anyone how to deal with him Imagine for people that are studying wild animal they will learn a bunch thing about their behavior

I think as animals they have instincts that warn them about attacking people becuase we carry wepons also when they're that close they may sense the risk of getting into trouble like if they take one person away the rest are still armed also bears and most other predators seem to have the instinct warning them
