Carmine … Not too long I purchased a FX telephoto lens for my Nikon D700 . Shame on me not info on manufactured location . When it arrived saw not from Japan w/ 30 day return policy I said Bye ! Purchased the next day the same telephoto lens from Japan . I will stick w/ Cameras , when I can stamped with” Made in Japan and lenses too!! Thank you !
@@CarmineTavernaPhotography .. Maybe but I still love my Corvette .. but all do respect there is a tradition of pride in what you make and produce in Japan Carmine I am a person that asks why and what if . Specifically, I try to understand why decisions , events shape a nation , industry etc , We know the Yellow Box from Rochester ,NY was King . Today, w/ the digital age film has a smaller audience . What perplex me is Kodak I believe had the advantage w/ digital camera and technology what happened ? Kodak became as relevant as 8 track tapes !!
KODAK did not believe Digital Cameras would be popular..that is what killed them, however today in Rochester, Kodak fired up the film making department and they now run 3 shifts making film for Hollywood and the average Joe 📷
I also just bought a Nikon Nikomat with lens directly from Japan. I was soooo surprised at the build quality of the camera. I was only on holiday and did not have anything to use to take good pictures. So, I started to research cheap cameras and settled on film cameras, to learn the process. I pulled the trigger and bought a Nikomat. I am very pleased with the purchase. The lens look clean and clear (50mm f/2 Nikkor-H lens). And the camera is in mint condition. I am still awaiting my film stock to be delivered, but I am already playing with the controls, to learn the Camera. Hahahahaha! And because I am a manual person, I am really looking forward to using the camera. Perhaps, one day I will visit those stores with old film cameras in Japan.
Great video, but I've noticed since you switched to a new camera that the audio is very balanced only in the left channel, which makes it hard to listen to with headphones.
You're leaving out the Nikon 4 that was the 1 before ... Counterbalanced shutter release , Carbon fiber shutter blades .. which Nikon left out of the Nikon 5 , 6 ... you can buy the Nikon F75 which is the same camera as a Nikon F5 but in a plastic body ...
