Disney please give a raise or a promotion to the CM that made the decision to run the Main Street Vehicles at night. While so many much entertainment/experiences are being cut back this experience has been expanded and added even more feels to late night Disneyland. Great tribute! Thanks for all the hard work.

Hey Brickey! What a great video! Once my dad and I were riding with Steve when people walking weren’t getting out of the way despite the horn. My dad said, “just run ‘em over.” Steve gave my dad a serious look and said, “too much paperwork.” It was the perfect thing to say to my dad, who has since passed away, and the memory makes me smile.

Speaking of vehicles during construction it was not uncommon for Walt to borrow an autopia car and drive it around the park. Walt on a serious note served in WW1 in the medical unit with the worst duty ever, driving an ambulance. Can you imagine what he saw. So perhaps he could erase the memory with the joy of driving.

Those vehicles are so important to the “real little town” suspension of disbelief when walking Main Street in the morning. It’s also such a luxury to feel like you have the time to take a cruise when you’re not rushing to crush

It was my honor and privilege to have been hand picked to be Main Street Operations at Walt Disney World in the mid 1980s. The original core values were part of the experience, and everything mattered. Part of what we did included Main Street Vehicles, and I got to drive them all. Not everyone liked driving the Omnibus due to its size, and we were required to give a live narrative announcement spiel along the way, so the Omnibus was most often assigned to me. The Omnibus was clearly my favorite, as it commanded Main Street! Decades later, I was so blessed to take 2 of the Omnibuses home with me! They are part of my fondest treasures; I have enjoyed driving them around the area, and doing Christmas Parades, a long eoth Church Christmas Caroling events! The Main Street Vehicles brought life to Main Street at the Magic Kingdom, and still operate today, although their service has been drastically cut back at WDW in Florida, to the point that I have to rock the boat to get them out on the Street in the later afternoon or early evening. Guests today are missing much, often not realizing just how special the Main Street Vehicles experience actually is. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ed2DOjeIWM4.htmlsi=pzScOFLvMu-Xzzc7

When I was a kid we had horses at a stable close to Disneyland. At that stable was an old retired Clydesdale. Every afternoon they would open the gate and the horse would walk the same path, always returning to his corral. Never sped up just the same old clipity clapitty. One afternoon the porter placed me and my friend upon the beasts back we sat crisscross applesauce upon its back as it meandered around. Well until it saw the oats go in the troft. Then it was game on and we went sliding off and onto the ground.

What a great video! My dad restores old cars (mostly model T’s, but basically anything vintage and interesting) and even growing up with vintage fire trucks, touring cars, etc, these absolutely had me fooled! My dad’s cars are all restored with vintage parts and what he couldn’t find, he fabricates them to replicate the original part and I always wondered how the Disney vehicles could run all day without overheating and how they sourced so many replacement parts! Now I know! Thanks for all your incredible videos!

Given how the majority of car trips in America are less than 5 miles each way, I think it would actually be much more practical to have these smaller, slower, but significantly more aesthetically pleasing modes of transportation to get around. Think of how much more enjoyable ones day would be to see more of these delightful things in one's town, and how much fun it would be to drive them!

the US at one point had a chance to adopt 'KEI' cars like Japan, which are smaller, lighter, cheaper vehicles designed to fit into a comparable price as a 'every day' style of motorbike. Sadly, the US and the rest of the west pivoted towards giant road-boats after compact cars started losing their appeal. In all honesty though, a revival of streetcars would be a huge boon to all urban areas. No need to hop into a car when a streetcar passes every 5-10 mins, just grab a passing trolly for any short trip. It's a crime that streetcars were ripped out at the behest of the auto industry and have never made a comeback.
