@@mimikatz I mean, it is literally their livelyhood and if there is no coherent chat about footy, they won't get the views, however much a handful of oddballs who love the chaos will tune in. They're still a minority.
scouser and Liverpool fan here but these lads (to use Ste’s go to tag word) are “mint”! Call out to Jay the other day for his well considered thoughts on Hillsbrough and our boycott of The Sun. Your a good man…
Absolutely bizarre that a Scouser is tuning into a United podcast. Like, properly bizarre. Some Yank plastic who decided to support Liverpool I can understand. But a Scouser? I couldn't think of anything worse than me (a Manc) tuning into a Kopite podcast. I'd find it incredibly irritating.
@@brnmln earlier in the week with Joe. Transfer talk I think. Jay likes an empty headed, cliche rant about things that were edgy 30 years ago but are now shared by everyone rich lol.
@@tooshlongwhat, that we all have to stay angry, tribal, hate-filled people, is that what you want? I enjoy content from other fans’ forums, it makes me see that the shirt aside we are really no different and I’m all for what unites rather than divides proper football fans ….oh and it reminds me of where I was a number of years ago when my team was in a similar situation to United’s present travails. That’s where the perverse pleasure comes in and if you’re going to slate me for anything I’ll own that complaint , it’s a reasonable point.
This narrative of ETH having poor judgement is unreasonable. First season transfers: Malacia (average). Eriksen (success), Martinez (Success), Casemiro (Success), Antony (fail). Second season: Malacia (out the entire season), Eriksen (out for 60% of the season), Martinez (out for 95% of the season), Casemiro (out for 80% of the season), Antony (fail), Onana (average), Mount (out for 85% of the season), Hojland (arrived with a broken back), Amrabat (out for 50% of the season, arrived injured)
I think INEOS need to build a culture back at United that Ste hit on and also how Brad Marchand described how the Boston Bruins You come here to win you go elsewhere to get paid as in the last 10 years it’s gone the other way
Signing players with poor injury records, or who are aging and so inevitably decline and be unavailable does not get the manager a pass. BUY PLAYERS THAT STAY FIT
This channel loses Joe, they are dead. I'm obviously being a bit dramatic but he genuinely is the glue that holds the chaos together. He's Michael Carrick
I actually agree with Joe on his point on leaving players immediately improving !! They don't just improve relative to the new lower level they are now playing at, they play in sum total better. They are better players elsewhere. Lukaku, Di Maria, Sancho, Elanga, Perreira etc ... Players who got some play time before leaving, played better after !!
9:35 in his book (Leading) Fergie said that he didn’t see a point in fining players when they were late, because he understood that certain circumstances were out of his hands, and out of the players hands (traffic, weather etc.). He said he only fined one player for being late, and that was Mark Bosnich and it was because he was late too often
@@plopplop1984 Also he had Roy Keane and the rest of the leaders to marshal the dressing room and a lot of them were brought through the academy so had this drilled into them before the first team
Bullseye.....lazy people making excuses for lazy professionals......the only time it is allowed is if you pitch up and create and score goals every match....keep the dressing room together a band of brothers.....otherwise late comers are a irritation ....acting like an individual in a team sport...
JOE, Patience of a fucking saint with them 2. Not the first time with them 2 constant shouting over everyone. Reminding of Vibe on Monday with Joel & The Club with them other 2 tubes!
Found myself disagreeing with mckola about almost everything except the Alexis Sanchez signing. Martial and rashford were doing just fine rotating that LW spot and mkhitaryan mata and lingard had the AM and RW spots. That swap deal was the most mercenary signing that messed up the wage structure and set us back years....
Been saying this for ages. Unfortunately we didn't need Ronny back and it threw Oli's plans out the window. Cavani was class and we messed up massively by pissing him off and letting him go.
You forget the ole out campaign started way before cr7 came back. ole bottle 4 semis & one final way before Ronaldo was even at the club & also if wasn't for Leicester bottling top4 in the 19/20 we wouldn't have finished top4 it wasn't all sunshine & roses under the ole reign.
@@fehzaanmahmood723yep, the Oli out campaign was clueless and short sighted. Oli didn't bottle any semis or finals. The team did. You can't blame it on him. And the europa final was on pens to villareal who took 10 of the best pens I've seen. It went down to the keeper taking one and not scoring. That's just unlucky. That's the fine line between 2nd in the league with a major trophy or 2nd in the league without one.
I agree about Kobbie. He is passionate. Everytime he comes off the pitch, he pumps up the fans. He plays his role really well. Lets his game do the talking. I cannot imagine him growing up in such an environment and succeed. I think that's what happened with Rashford. He had Zlatan when he was maturing after that, that dressing room has got a bunch of slackers. Pogba was supposed to be the leader in that squad under Ole. If any youngster is growing up watching that, they are not gonna have any good personality.
Sancho is playing and may turn out to be worth a lot more as a result. His present value is minus about £80 million if he gets back to previous value. United will be better off than having him sit at home playing video games.
08:20 When Jay talks about Newcastle suddenly playing like a CL team, Ste mentions that not all players would have been given big-money contract renewals. They started playing better likely because they knew if they were deemed not good enough they would be shipped off pretty damn quick. If they are deemed good enough there's not only a chance of more money when renewals come back round but also silverware. This is the same boost in performances I hope to see in Utd once Sir Jim has his feet under the table. Players need to be fearing for their jobs (among a whole host of backroom staff)
The adhd of Ste and McKola is fine alone or with one of or both of jay and joe. But put them together and the show descends into a shitpile. Joes getting annoyed with it. I would be too.
For me that’s where some of the best moments happen. Also, I might be alone in this but I do feel as though something has fed Joes ego over the last few months. He’s started to come across as wanting to be the ‘top guy/no 1’ person on the channel
@@nickcollins5191 bizarre to be talking about some blokes "ego" on the basis of an hour or so football chat a week. Just a weird thing to think lol. I also appreciate that the kids think chaos isn't annoying, But it's a show not aimed at under 16s, so not sure it's a good thing.
@@BeirBua_ I like Ste. McKola is an actual idiot. Like genuinely thick, over emotional and lacks basic self control. But Ste is a fine presenter and I like his energy. But him and McKola together is a disaster.
@@tooshlong I mean I did say ‘over the last few months’, and Joe does more than just ‘an hour worth of chat’ a week. He’s on multiple Stratford paddock videos each week. He just seems to have had this air of superiority about him recently. Now maybe it’s because in the first of this video series he named it, but he’s worked on videos where ste and mckola are also on them., so he should know a video can descend into chaos. I could be wrong, it just seems like he’s coming across at times in videos like he’s better than everyone else
Lmao love these, Adam & Ste truly do bring it back to life. Like watching the office jokers everyone loves being held back my management whilst the head office is in town. I fear Jay & Jesus have lost their sense of humour, Joe's always on his best behaviour like he's auditoning for a BBC Sport role
Why get so deep about this shit. They havent lost their sense of humour for trying to keep the show on track. The podcast isnt aimed at ADHD children who find chaos amusing. If they don't talk footy they lose views and that hurts financially, even if a few weirdos love it. Most don't. It's annoying.
@@d.b.cooper1 again, you're getting so deep mate. ADHD r t4rds like yourself won't mind it, but if they're not talking about footy then people won't tune in. I'd draw you a diagram if I could be bothered.
This is why i love Adam Mckola. Hes the most level headed in the Paddock. He understands the Rashford situation andnisnt reactionary for likes. Speaks the truth and represents what a fan channel should be all about.I miss him dojng fan cams on match days.
When improvement in performance and especially in energy is extremely rapid, as is the case with freshly rich Newcastle, I tend to think that they are pouring some very expensive high tech additives in their tanks.
Lukaku was good for us. I don't get why anyone would put him in the same barrel as Sancho. Even Di Maria had more quality games in a United shirt than Sancho has.
They let the media narrative hypnotize them. Di Maria had 12 assists in his one season yet is always talked about like some flop. Even the Sanchez Mkhi swap lowkey was a steal. Media just hated it and kept inflating the wages or in other words, lying.
Bruno is struggling because he thinks he has to do everything. He might be right, He shouldn't have to be running to every area of the pitch to cover for other players who are slacking. He must be knackered at the end of each game. Silky number tens don't normally do ALL of the running in the team.
MAJOR res points for Adam who is the first effing person i;ve heard TALK SENSE ABOUT MOURINHO...even with the 2nd place and Europa title...he had SUCH a negative impact overall & those plus points were nowhere near worth the price...all the decisions he made made those trophies possible and benefited us in the IMMEDIATE term (nbenifited him but FD us in the long term) for example signing Lukaku (guaranteed goals against small teams and good foir a team toi cement top 4 but awful on the eye and never going to win you a title) effing our wage structure for sanchez even if he hadnt bombed as bad as he did wouldf have masdsively declined in a year or 2... Ole did the ABSOLUTE opposite- riskedn his job & potentially cost us points in the short term but massively benefited us in the long term by putting faith in Rashfordf (martial who was good under him before the injury) shipping out liukes of lukaku n sanchez at any cost
We need to be ruthless. Threathen to keep player on bench until they are willing to take pay cut to leave. We also need: 1. Performance based contracts. Base, doubles if you get top 4, quadruple if we win. 2. Write off 2 seasons & play youth as much as possible to find 2-3 top talents. Avoid star purchase completely & let fans get behind high workrate players & home grown players. 3. Look for loan to buy options youth players. Instead of paying 7tmil for hojlund. Agree 6 month loan with 80mil buy option. Offer sellers more money if it works
Absolutely love Jay and Joe but McKola and Howson are too annoying here to watch. The banter at the start was so annoying made me want to turn off. Joe and Jay bring order to the show and make it really enjoyable and more professional
Sorry… newcastle “without a lot of signings” paying only “£200-£300m”…. Newcastle have signed 16 permanent players to a tune or about £450m over 2 years… mad comments.
Guirassay for 15m, Dybala has a min fee release clause of 12m and sign Moting on loan. I would seriously accept a bid of 30m for Sancho if it covers those three… we might score a goal if we had those up top
Don’t know if Iqbal would have played much for United though if he’d stayed. He already has been injured on 2 separate occasions this season and therefore only played 5 matches for FC Utrecht. Of those matches he only started in 1 and was subbed of in the 66th min😅
One problem I think we have is that we are always looking for a “Man Utd” player. The profile, status, price and wages of a player must always “fit” a certain expectation that United is thee biggest club. Maybe the opposite approach is needed. Ditch the glamorous “he’s a United player” angle and just scout and sign good hardworking, footballers. Even if said player is unknown or unpopular. Get the working class lads from the shipyards and the mines again. United need to be humble, return to the basics and find themselves. We need an identity, a philosophy, a structure, a personality. Rather be boring United for a few years but know how to defend. How to play the ball out. How to build up play and keep possession. We need patience. Thats all I want, not these 100M flashy but useless, exuberant players we keep buying hoping for a quick fix.
To me its simple, we keep buying players using the stats, which doesn't take into account the quality of the leagues, the character of the players how they perform when they don't have the ball ?
Na there's just no set style of play so recruitment is scattered as a result. Why was Sancho bought if he's best off the left, Rashford's best position? why was donny bought if bruno was clearly the team's best player? What's the purpose of mount? Lack of set principles of play will lead to these poor recruiting decisions
City's academy when you deep it is actually dross. Full of garbage and rejects that end up nowhere for 30m+, Foden being their only success in recent times. Yet United's academy "rejects" Gomes, Mengi, Garner, Kovar, Henderson, Elanga and more are all starting/playing for their top 5 league clubs and went for absolute pennies.
@plopplop1984 Unfortunately, they won't be stuck with um now impossible to get rid of these players on high wages. There are already extending contracts of players who aren't good enough that they'll continue to do so, so nearly every player needs to go until till that happens it'll be the same shit I can see it next year Harry and lindelof CB's Scott still getting in around rashford not running full backs that can't attack strikers that can't score
I think there is a different perspective on Sancho. He wants to play first team football and is not happy unless he is doing so. He forced a move away from City for first team football and he is doing exactly the same now.
Sometimes i ask myself this: does United as a whole (owners, players, fans) really wants to be successful. The deepest problem for me is big gap in the objectives and expectations of all these parties. Owners want commercial revenues only and don't even bother about success on the pitch, players seemingly will fight only for a big payday (many United players have worked their socks off, then falterered as soon as they have signed a big contract renewal, like pogba, rooney, rashford,...etc.). The fans are sometimes divided on the coach, some players. United will ever be successful again when that "everyone ( the owners, the fans, the player, the manager) wins" culture is back. For me i don't believe ETH has gone the right way about doing it. Klopp is the perfect example of how essential that cultural change at a club is.
I will always say this about Dan James, his speed was a tactical advantage. He would make the oppo defense and run and tire them out. It was a mistake selling him after buying Ronaldo because the ronaldo that came back was slow.
Who ever sanctioned a sancho loan and accepted us paying majority of wages should be sacked just for that. He should have been allowed to leave without us paying him any money to play for another club
Varane 57 games in 3 years! earning 340k, take a reducion or fuck off! im all for it. Basaka deserves him 1 extra year, Lindo played 89 games, deserved again. massive less wages but they play.
Sorry can’t see how the attitude of the club will change with INEOS now being involved? Ultimately the Glazers still own the majority of the club and probably still have the final say.
Because Utd overpay , football is a psychological game ..You put a high transfer fee on a player he feels the pressure especially if the team is not doing great .
Bit annoyed tonight. Marcos Leonardo who I’ve seen live at Santos three times over the last couple of years and have kept tabs on since from afar just went to Benfica. For peanuts. 5th top scorer in the league last season and just 20. How come me on holiday in Brazil a couple of times can do a better job of scouting than the club I support? Fkin hell.
