Joshua Zirkzee is a Man Utd type of forward for the long-term to challenge Hojlund for the No.9 shirt & a suitable replacement for Anthony Martial so he's coming to our Club in the summer. We don't want Kane or Toney or Sesko or any Chelsea & Liverpool rejects cos we're not a charity but one of the best Club in the world who have standards to maintain! Keep it in the family!
We should get a free transfer or loan striker. There are several positions more vital to strengthen. Højlund will keep developing but he needs to be fed more often either with through balls or crosses.
last season the reason Rashford was incredible was Weghorst, Weghorst played as a false 9 and gave Rashford the freedom to do his thing.. the only problem with Weghorst was he was a poor finisher... so yeah we need a new striker that can be a backup to Hojlund and more importantly can play as a false 9
I agree with you except the part about Hojlund. I still think Hojlund is an incredible young talent but he should be a backup striker to a world class false 9 that can replicate or supercede the off the ball running of Weghorst while having superior finishing ability.
I've always said that when Martial played up top, we seemed so much better in the final third. He allowed us to stitch the attacks together, as he could drop into the pockets and link play. Personally, I would go into next season with Bruno and Hojlund as our forward options. This would be somewhat similar to what ten Hag had at Ajax, with Dusan Tadic, Kasper Dolberg and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. If this were to happen, then we'd obviously need to sign another midfielder to fill Bruno's spot.
What about Joao Felix,Barca won't afford to keep him and he's already burned bridges at Athleti so there's no chance of returning.He'll probably cost around 35 mil and his name has been mentioned around United before
Felix seems to be a moody player that doesn't always give all what he has,like he is not that type of players that fight for the team and always demanding to be better, not mentioning that he's not a versatile player that can fit in different roles and positions, so considering the price tag that ATM might ask for him plus his huge wage if he comes to United I see it doesn't worth it while there are a few other options in the market
Makes sense, we've lacked creativity all season because all 3 of our attackers have been focused on goalscoring 😕 If you're gonna play Rashford and Garnacho, then Hojlund doesn't work, but Bruno does. On the flip side, it's why Olise would be a great signing for Hojlund, because he provides a LOT of chances for his teammates.

The isolation of Rasmus Hojlund is so obvious when you see the types of wingers Manchester United have. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho (Before he went to Dortmund), they are all ball dominant, shoot first, pass second players. You need an Antonio Valencia, David Beckham esque winger who is looking to get his striker involved rather than create chances for themselves. honestly, I would nearly bring in Jeremie Frimpong as a right winger for Manchester United. lightning quick speed, can assist at a high rate and seeing as he is currently a right back, we know he can defend when needed.
You still can't see that that hardly works with modern football due to player costs. Again, you want to buy 4 players for 250k instead of buying cheaper options with similar impact while developing the other one.

We want to Cash in on at least 10 players this summer. We want to offload Greenwood, Sancho, Mount, Bruno, VDB, Maguire, Lindelof, Williams, Pellistri & Antony etc.. ASAP & recruit at least 6 - 8 players this summer e.g. 2CB, 2CM, RW & ST! Then we can seriously challenge for league & Europa league Next season! Keep it in the family!

I heard people saying zirkzee not making enough runs in the box when needed , it was the same issue with martial last year. Would like a dedicated video since with his RC much lower than expected, he’s prolly the first choice for INEOS.
ETH wants us to play a hyper transitional style of football, but the wingers over possess the ball and it never gets moved to the final 3rd quickly enough for there to be genuine threat. The mix of wingers are not compatible with Hojlund. They want to carry the ball far too much rather than move it forward and make a run forward off the ball. This is extremely clear when Martial was playing. He would try to come short to get the ball in the half space, but that allowed the defenders to compress in and squeeze space. Hojlund stretches the ground but the lack of vision from the wingers neuters the benefit of his effort. Hojlund creates a half space for them to work in but they don't have the qualities to exploit it.
Just from cost view point and given other priorities with RB (AWB might leave), a starting CDM, and two CBs (linelof , Varane & Evans, maybe Maguire), probably for such changing up things game, I would play Bruno as that false 9 with mctonminay in 10(aerial winning) plus kinda can really strike that ball.. with mount too can switch with mctominay/bruno.. each can be a 8, 10 & false 9.. so not a priority.. maybe a Ivan Toney might solve all issues!!! Or bring back mason greenwood!!
I dont think we need a traditional false 9 per say i.e messi, lautaro martinez, felix etc.. i think we just need a 9 or ST/CF that can drop deep and has a very good linkup play,, deep lying centre foward i.e kane, giroud type of player,, which gives us a lot more options in the market and usually cheaper target
You might do a better job than ETH. Great analysis! The forwards are not scoring and creating chances cause the attack lacks structure. They make poor runs and have zero chemistry which is down to the coaching.
Respectfully, I disagree. I agree that it's good to have options to switch it up, but I have 2 problems with this idea. We need a rotation option for Hojlund to rest sometimes or if he's injured. Imagine Hojlund gets injured, and then we're stuck playing plan B instead of plan A, because we bought a false nine instead of an actual back up to Hojlund. That's kind of the problem of this season already. We can really play our plan A fully, because our back-ups were bought for differeny managers, and they can't play our plan A effectively. Second problem I have with this idea is, you're kind of suggesting that we have to look for someone to do what Bruno did... Why if we already have Bruno to do exactly that? Just put Mount or Scott in 10 when playing Bruno in false 9. I also think playing Bruno in 10, and having a false nine on top of that kind of defeats the point of having a false, because they would essentially occupy the same spaces and do the same things. Overall, I don't think it's a terrible idea, but maybe for the next summer, not this one. Right now we need an actual number 9, because we only have 1 (one) fucking striker at the club. Whereas we already have players that can play the false nine, such as Bruno, Amad, and potentially even Mount or Forson.
i would love to see Xavi simmons in this position, PSG will loan him again. If we can snatch him and include a buy clause, we are getting a class player that can cover three positions, plus he would come as a loan so we can spend more money on other positions.
For me after extensive research I realized we need 3 possibly 4 forward for the 70 games season. Here is my list of strikers: -Hojlund -Rashford -Hugo Duro -Raspadori On the right I would love to see antony sold and bring back Sancho and keep Diallo.
Ten Hag always wants expensive players who don’t want United lol. Kane will be great for us but he needs trophies and United isn’t the answer. We need to start going for young less expensive players.

Man united must improve their counter attack this season. To do so, one of the winger can drop deep, and lay the ball off to his team mate and run as quickly as possible. This must be done in training. If the lay off is bad, then the coach must stop the play and say repeat. On the other hand, the striker and the other winger must be ready to run in behind. There must occasion in game where there is space in behind. They must try that. If your opponent drop deep faster than your forwards, then that is the time to pass the balll to Onana but don't do that every time. For every defender's perspective, they must be able to estimate if there is empty space behind the defender. You're not being paid 350k/week to pass to onana every single time.
Sancho will do what Zirkzee is doing if Sancho & Ten Hag meet up again or we go for Motta as our managsr (my favourite choice). Greenwood/Amad- Hojlund/Sancho- Rashford/Garnacho
In my opinion, united should sign zirkzee to help and challenge hojlund upfront. Guirassy and Toney are not united material imo and sesko is similar to hojlund. Zirkzee is young with more than enough experience at his age. He's not a traditional no.9 but can still bang in goals and even link play like Harry Kane. He's the perfect fit.
What if ETH shift Hojlund to the right wing a little while still using bruno as a false 9 , the team has issues on the right wing already, so put Garnacho on the left (I'm sick of complimenting Rashford in such poor form) and Bruno in the middle to attract defenders, leaving Hojlund in situations behind defenders with his steong foot to the goal to finish the way he's good at. Same goes for the other flank.
This is just stupid. United need a decent defence and a couple of midfielders who are creative and skilled. Rasmus drops back all the time. Unfortunately Garnacho and whoever plays on the Wing allways try to score Them selves. They are to selfish. And that is the real problem.

Because then we lose our most creative midfielder. The whole point of a false 9 is overloading the CAM position. So instead of converting Bruno and finding another 10, it's more logical to find a striker that can play as a false 9. Since we need one anyway.
Apart from the unattainable targets such as Lautaoro Martinez, Felix, Writz and the players you mentioned, I can think of 2 other false 9 players. I would say Jonathan David and if you want an EPL proven player Lucas Parqueta could be options.
Can we not teach HOjlund to drop off and play the false 9 if the situation calls for it, he's technical and can string a pass together from what we've seen..

The weirdest thing i never got bout our team is Rasmus is prolly the perfect forward for how we play, fast paced counters with a lot of risk v reward deliveries (Bruno). The only problem Rashford takes all of those opportunities. Imo yes we do need a striker that can for the very least flick on balls to players running onto balls or jus combination play (semi deep lying forward) like Ronaldo did while at Juve combining with Dybala a lot, a new lw that can score n create to provide something different from our current crop of one dimensional wingers (Garnacho looks promising but his not that good creativity wise). But if we're not shipping off Rashford then I'd get Zirkzee as the striker option instead if Guirassy
We needed Martial to leave and to sign two strikers last summer, but Martial stayed and we only got one. Now Martial is finally leaving and we need a second striker in his place.
