Canadian infrastructureis not ready for anything not only EVs. we dont have the infrastructure for the most simple things

You forgot the battery you will have to replace half way through the cars lifespan or have drastically reduced range.

Nobody talks about electric power rate increases coming by 2030 🤔 (gasoline only todays price 60 billion a year in tax) no gas money how they paying for roads and snow removal? Hmmm

@@derek8564 Not true. My Tesla battery will last me for 1.5 million kms, so about 60 years, and I drive as much as the average Canadian. Also, only about 15% battery degradation after 10 years of ownership. Not exactly the scenario you create. This is a common misconception about EVs.

Also lots of coal. And it takes a lot of oil and gas to build them. The copper in the batteries is supplied by child labour and virtual slavery. So, yay. EVs!

Absolutely. I mean i see burning EVs nearly literally every day on the side of the highway, burning be because of neglect in maintenance or because of an accident! I mean it’s insane! They haul around a toxic, highly inflammable liquid, and then its pumped into a burning hot metal contraption! Who would drive something like that. I heard in vase of an accident these fluids even can leak ans set the car on fire in seconds! Thats just insane! Nope, i wouldn’t want to drive that….oh, i might have mixed something up..

Yes, the upfront cost is still high, but have you considered the total cost of ownership? No gas...and only minor maintenance? My EV was $60k, but after 10 years of ownership, it will have cost me $24k. And no pollution.

Agreed. I live in southwestern Ontario, and have only had an EV for 1 winter, and I was a little disappointed by the hit the battery took during the cold temperatures. Obviously, it would be considerably colder where you are. Other than that issue, I love driving it and have no regrets.

Yes, the issue for apartment dwellers needs to be addressed if we are to be 100% EV within about 12 years.

you know what the temperature is in outter space? Its beyond -40 and you know how those satellites and space station get power, they stop at their nearby Shell and refuel. Yep, thats how they do it. Do you want to re-evaluate your idea on cold temperatures and electric batteries now?

My Tesla is definitely not a luxury car and it's not intended to be. Yes, some EVs are luxury, but not all, and prices will come down considerably in the next 2 years. After 10 years, my EV will have cost me only $24k.

@@davidcarruthers7086 I remember when they said Teslas would be affordable "within 2 years" in 2015. Nothing changed. Electric cars are government subsidized rich people's toys, nothing more. Gasoline and diesel will never die.

As long as EVs don’t make 80-90 (and sometimes even more) db of noise in the city, and don’t haul a barrel of burning gas or oil around to compensate for the pollution a ice car produce’s locally i personally am fine with this. 😉

Fuel cell-powered cars were an equal competitor to electric battery cars about twenty-five years ago. Then, curiously, fuel cell car development pretty much disappeared and battery electric took over.

Thanks for posting that! Funny how every vehicle that bursts into flames in the news seems to be an electric one! Geee what about that 2020ish ICE pick up truck sitting in my neighborhood that lite up the night and caught the house on fire. Even by percentage more ice vehicles catch fire than EVS. That's not government fault. Demand industry to make more affordable EVs. Strip away all they unnecessary electronic and computer gimmicks. Just make a simple EV to clean up environment and still affordable.

Don't forget a huge chunk of your fuel cost is taxes that are supposed to go to roads and transport infrastructure, but we all know that's a farce like electric vehicles.😢
