Idk I think it's more like socialism than communism, but i think it goes to show that a little bit of socialism can be a good thing. Like if you're a really good player, you're still going to be able to win, but it's okay if an item slows you down a bit because you don't need to be lapping everyone. Just like if you're an uber wealthy billionaire, you can afford to pay higher taxes. Also, the item system can help someone else who sucks at the game have a fighting chance, just like social welfare programs like food stamps and unemployment can help people who are struggling. Maybe real life should be a little more like mario kart.
Dude is just calling negative feedback loops "Communistic". Negative Feedback Loops are a mechanism that promotes balance and parity by either rewarding the laggards (or stunting the leaders) in a system to stay competitive with the rest of the pack. Mario Kart, like many other games, uses negative feedback loops in its game design to keep it balanced and fun. Does communism itself employ negative feedback loops in its theory/principles? It sure does. But so does the human body regulating temperature, professional sports teams deciding the draft order, the federal reserve adjusting interest rates to ramp up or cool down the economy, and many other examples. If Mario Kart was actually communist, there would be no winners or losers. The labors and glory of each race would be shared evenly among all racers and everyone would share every win regardless of what their lap times were, positions gained, or where they actually finished.
sure but that's not a good idea to do in the economy lol. Imagine if you reward laggards in the long run what does that do? It creates more laggards. We want less laggards in the future not more. Lets say you have 2 guys: 1) guy that works 60 hour weeks making good money (good for economy) 2) guy that's unemployed and plays video games all day (bad for economy). Now if you punish 1) guy with higher taxes and you reward the 2) guy with free stuff, you will get less of 1) and more of 2) in the economy. And remember more of 2) = bad economy and poverty.

if last place didnt gain better advantages and this game still had an item system then the game would essentially just become 99 percent luck because you could just keep getting mushrooms and bullet bills in first place
So sad WOKEtendo has decided to betray its fanbase and add such a horrendous mechanic all to spread its political agenda. Super Mario used to be about picking yourself up from the bootstraps and collecting coins and saving princesses. Now it's fallen to the Sweet Babies of the gaming industry and ruined its legacy forever. I even hear the next game will make Mario 'italian', as if we need any more forced diversity.
well obviously economy works differently than a Mario kart race. In economy it's all about incentives and if you create a backwards incentive system that rewards people that are either not productive or smart economically you get more of those people in the long term. And if you have too many of those non productive people in the society getting free stuff the whole economy becomes worse as a whole.
If I must say I'm a little confused by why you are portraying these mechanics as inherently bad simply because they follow communist properties. I can understand that in practice and on a large scale communism hasn't always worked, but, to my knowledge, that was because of corruption and other factors. I don't really understand why that would communism as a whole bad. Like writing communism off simply because of bad execution seems honestly illogical. May I also say that by that logic you could also villainize capitalism. The whole point of capitalism is the the market would drive competition that would force quality and price to meet the needs of the market and the consumer, but even in America that is certainly not the case. capitalism has led to large monopolies and huge companies that simply make whatever they want and force people to buy at whatever price they like while hogging resources and making it impossible for others to compete. But you don't seem to renounce it the same way you do communism. Now let me say that I am by no means communist, but I think that its much more important to evaluate the effectiveness of all policies and political ideas rather than simply decide that one political system is evil and everything like it is wrong simply based on bias.
Putting aside the idiotic complaints about capitalism, which is completely irrelevant, communism is evil (not just bad) for a number of reasons. First of all, it punishes success and helping others live better lives. Secondly, it is inherently inefficient because it centralises decisionmaking, therefore making worse thecisions. Thirdly, it rewards corruption, and centralises power in a corrupt individual. Fourth, it violates human rights, such as the right to private property, and the right to freedom of association. Fifth, it leads to the violation of more human rights, such as the right to freedom of thought and speech, and the right to live a life without poverty. It is not that communism failed because of corruption. Communism failed because it cannot work.
