He paid for dates, Christmas, bday vday gifts etc but never ever gave me cash and I never asked. Wasn't raised that way. My daughter has now been raised the same. In her early 20s she doesn't accept money from her boyfriend not even when offered which he has. Gifts? Yes. She pays her own bills. And buys him gifts as well. This perspective women have of as seeing boyfriends as cash cows is sickening and degrading for women if only they would recognize that.

Oh but it still is and can be. May just be a little harder to find. My mom raised me to never ask a boyfriend for money. Allow him too court you but not take care of you. My husband while dating for more than 3 years never paid 1 bill and I never expected him to. Gifts, outings yes. My daughter in her early 20s has now been raised the same way. She actually turns down money from her boyfriend when offered. But accepts gifts and gives them in return. I have a number of friends whose daughters are raised the same way. Beautiful smart girls all. So they're still out there.
