Finally somebody who gets that there really is no meta in brawl ppl just are monkey see monkey do players and try to hope on the meta train when there is none
Ive got an insight some months ago about this, and then I started playing Reno, which has 2 good weapons, but he is far from meta. After playing with him for some time I was enjoying the game more than when I was playing meta weapons. So just pick what you feel like is more fun. Another thing is that, both yuz and kyna won major tournaments with non meta weapons/characters. And SA was already known for playing differently from the other major regions. Its crazy how our region is shaking the meta this much.
Unless you are the top 1% of the game where even the smallest of details can cost a stock or even a entire game, the blasters nerf was pretty much nothing
I'd like to point out that unlike other fighter games with noticeably less frequent balance patches. Brawlhalla gets a major balance patch at bare minimum a couple times a year to shake up the Meta. As such playing whats considered "off-meta" now may suddenly get you called a meta slave two patches later. As someone who has 4k hours and unlocked Black for literally everyone barring a total of 6 legends. You can truly climb to Diamond and beyond playing whoever you want.
I know exactly what you’re talking about, I would get called a meta slave from time to time for playing spear even though I’ve been playing it for years 😂
Meta or best picks are nothing compared to individual player skills, preferences and familiarity. I stick to legends I feel comfortable with. Switching mains just to get the most overturned weapon is just setting yourself up for disappointment later on when balance changes arrive. If you are on your genuine pick you are more likely to stick with them through thick and thin
No one can stop me from using my favorites, arcadia, munin, and cassidy. If you ever want to follow the meta, your choice. But if you don't, that is fine. it's all up to YOU. NOT OTHERS.
I love playing characters that are fun. I hate whenever there’s a ton of crazy good super sweats to compare myself to with my weapon or character, I like to enjoy the game and I play much better if I’m enjoying playing. Meta will not change my main and it never has, so I agree with you on almost every point in the vid.
i dont even know which weapons are meta other than Scythe and Spear and apparently Axe now, i just stick to Bow, Blasters, and Katars cause they work for me
Bro you spoke straight to my hart but the only problem I have with player in brawlhalla is that if I main a good brawlhalla like jiro players will think less of me qnd that the character takes no skill and I get free wins right now I am thinking of getting a new brawler
Yes, just because there’s a worst weapon doesn’t mean it’s not able to win. Plus, things that people say aren’t meta can turn out to be really strong. Spear is a great example, since it went from a mid tier weapon to the top without any buffs, people just started playing it more and realized it was broken. That’s why it doesn’t matter
blasters were not a “wall of hitboxes that the player cant get through” your reasoning for the blasters nerf not mattering is that you lost to a blasters player😂 the idea that nothing changes when a weapon becomes meta is also false. when other weapons change, it changes the balance of the game as a whole. in some states of the game, the meta is very clear. if you werent playing greatsword in 2020, you were at a disadvantage. if you played hammer post nerf before buffs, you were at a heavy disadvantage. hammer got gutted so insanely hard, almost every move was nerfed significantly, and stomp sair wasnt even consistent. the weapon went from S teir to D teir, and its not debatable. hammer was not “always good”, it had to get buffs every patch for over a year. also, the way people play is always changing. even if nothing changes about a weapon, this can make it move up or down in the meta.
My reasoning for the blasters nerf not mattering wasn’t because I lost to one person. Before the nerf was even in the game, I knew that the changes wouldn’t be that big. I can definitely agree that 2020 GS was the one time where one weapon completely controlled the game, I remember how broken it was very well. Other than that though, every weapon has been able to win at every other point. Some weapons are obviously better than others, but that doesn’t mean you can’t win on the worse ones, which is the entire point of the video. Yes, hammer was the worst for a while after it got nerfed heavily, but definitely not unusable or unwinnable at any point. That’s just how Brawlhalla is 🤷♂️
@@TrippedUp bro, the title of the video is “meta is meaningless”. if you agree that some weapons are better than others, then the meta isnt meaningless. obviously you can win on any weapon even unarmed, but you are less likely to. + the blasters nerf is a big deal, nair was a really important part of blasters. in the video you justified the nerf not mattering because a blasters player beat you so idk what youre on about
@@GooP-oq4pw The point of the video is that you can win with anything and not let the meta control what you play. Of course meta matters if there is something that’s unbeatable, but Brawlhalla has only had that with on release GS. This isn’t like all the Smash games where 1 character was completely dominant (Meta Knight, Bayonette, Steve). Brawl is a very well balanced game comparatively
@@TrippedUp meta matters in brawl. if youre playing for thousands of dollars you wouldnt play a weaker weapon. youre wrong but i guess i respect your opinion
@@GooP-oq4pw I’m starting to wonder if you even watched the video… “If you’re competing for thousands of dollars you wouldn’t play a weaker weapon” so then why did Kyna play what was regarded to be one of the worst picks for 1s in the royale? Doesn’t make sense until you realize that just because a weapon or legend is “weaker” doesn’t mean you can’t win on it. People should pick what they like playing. Not everyone clings to the meta for their pick, and Kyna is a huge example of this. It’s not really an opinion, it’s literally what happened
