Hey, thanks for mentioning my video! I like your idea that the discs might have been created in a time where mobs did roam the minecraft world on peaceful, and now both mobs and players are dead. But I would say that there is no reason to believe that whatever chasing the player died off besides speculation, so I would still cite that as creepy, especially for disc 11 the player doesn't seem to be running from a mob, thats whats so scary about it, it seems like something else, and the question of "What if whatever is chasing this person didn't die off..." Is one I find pretty spooky, it implies there is something else, some other threat that isn't the mobs. Either way, great video, glad I could be some help in inspiring it. :D
I like to think whatever was preying on the person in disc 11 wasn't merely chasing but stalking as well as trying to mess with the person psychologically so they can be mentally weaker. The thought of a threat that can think of ways to torment their prey can be really terrifying.
I never tried peaceful before so I thought I'd try it once... And honestly, I'm surprised how little it changes the experience, for me at least. It's nowhere near as lonesome as I thought it would be because there's still populated villages and neutral mobs out there. I still avoid dark places as usual and my biggest danger, fall damage, is still there. And I guess beds and strip mining already make it easy to avoid mobs in the other difficulty modes anyway. One big difference is that it's not possible to beat the game in peaceful as far as I know.
Peaceful can be creepy but there's a step more I see no one talk about or mention. I like to play on hard mode with the mobs disabled, some may think that's not bad at first but think about it. There aren't just the hostiles disabled, Everything is gone. Once you realise this it becomes its own survival challenge, for mental and physical. Throw on disabling music and then it's kind of its own new game. Just thought this was interesting to point out. Also you are amazing at what you do, keep up! I see a good future ahead of you
