The true minimum wage is $0.00/hour, it's also known as "unemployment". The government cannot determine the worth of any job.

Minimum wage is a failure as an economic policy, but as a _political_ policy it usually works.

There are no complex issues here. Companies need to pay their workers fairly and if they don't they need to be legislated to do so. In work benefits are not benefits, they're subsides to companies that pay their workers a subsistence wage.

No. If applied based on real life conditions, it is not a bad idea. It is often misused as political policy, though. Otherwise, you can not ask your state to protect you and your business, either. Instead of trying to work for you, poorer people could just gang up and rob your business.
