the pixel will grow Discord Server: discord.gg/P74cVatknc I wanted to make some changes to this video but my Davinci was using up ALL my RAM and was lagging like crazy, some things I wanted to address: The reasons I think they did it, was that adding a one-shot item wasn't as bad as there already were plenty of ways to exploit the game's mechanics to do crazy things like this. Gaining height to do something like this requires you to use up a lot of your time and effort. Mojang has stated their reasons upfront as I have shown in the video, I also do think they find some entertainment in people building farms to push their game to it's limits, I was going to include this part of the video but some of the people from the redstone community were at Minecraft Live openly talking about how they built these crazy farms and taking advantage of how the game worked right in front of the devs in person, I think there is some type of fascination some of the people at Mojang have with seeing people do stuff like kill the wither without even touching the ground once. Regarding the 2b2t part: While the FitMC part has nothing to do with the topic of the video I didn't think it was worth making an entire video for, but it was something really important I noticed, FitMC made a video of him joining a group of people on that server, that turned out to have an admin on it's team. I bring that up specifically because FitMC making videos as if Hausemaster is some mysterious guy, when he is in fact in the same group that has a person with admin powers. 2b2t and other anarchy servers are an important part of Minecraft's history as they push it to it's true limits in vanilla, or at least to what the server plugins allow them to, I still think that server is extremely important as some of the crazy things that have happened regarding Minecraft originated from people playing there. FitMC ironically started a war against TheCampingRusher for populating the server with new people who'd destroy their monuments and became the person who was singlehandedly responsible for populating it after the 2016 war. I wanted get my observation about Fit out there just because it was something almost no one noticed. I hope you enjoy the video and, hopefully RU-vid's reviewers will approve the channel.
The Mace is still a better melee weapon thanks to the Breach Enchantment. With full protection 4 netherite armor and a maxed mace, it does more damage than a maxed netherite sword, and that's without having a height advantage
That's the one problem one have with it i dotn realy can about the mace its self but when the entchemts rolled out that one is the only one i have a problem with you can kill a play with full netherite protection for 2 block with just breach if I remeber properly.
but.. its.. kinda a lot harder to obtain than a netherite sword? seems pretty fair to me. Like... you gotta kill raid partys to get a potion that unlocks the ability to mnake the trial chambers an already challenging thing forcing you to make it even harder to get keys as a prize to open a new container that spawns less frequently and require you to open many to get even a chance of getting the piece to craft the mace... 2 Diamond swords Grind abit with exp and enchant a couple times or utewllizee villagers to get a decent starter weapon and make the villagers trade you books you need.... is easy af to get so all yah godda do is get netherite and bam you can make a netherite sword with gud enchant.
Maybe it is, April Fool Updates are Mojang's cries for help, as I said it seems they are forced to play it safe, but, the point I make in this video, it seems like it isn't really playing it safe adding this end until you realize how many times people abuse items like beds in the nether to do stuff in pvp. Microsoft has definitely played a part in ruining this game.
@@cubedimensions I don’t get those who call Minecraft ‘ruined’. People gets dry because Mojang wants to interact with the playerbase, adding new mobs. This isn’t the only case, either. being able to use it with a elytra was a bug u can no longer build up the maces damage with it but people have found a work around using the trident like u said
I think the mace was a balanced but yet OP , because even the mace is broken , in pvp , some players need to use it accurately when hitting . That is why it is balanced for me . They made it intended to be broken it's because it is to make the players at least satisfied with the update or the new weapon . I don't think they had to nerf it because it takes patience and accuracy to use the weapon so it depends of player's skills . When using it with elytra , it's even more accurate when you use it . But if mojang will tease us a bigger threat or stronger mobs and it will be a good point for a mace.
It is a very high risk high reward weapon that leads to the person using it to likely die if they miss it, also I am shocked that people are already watching this video, honestly I enjoyed making this up until I had to edit it with Davinci Resolve, still great software but I already have experienced crashes, luckily it's insured with the autosave feature.
The Mace is not reliable for speedruns because Heavy Cores are absurdly difficult to get, and it definitely would take more than killing all 3 bosses normally
@@mrfoxyzin58 yes its might not that reliable but i think one thing for sure i could thought of is that it depends on : • Luck ( the best chances of getting the heavy core in a vault ) • Set seed ( I don't know whether a cheater or not , you might spawn near one trial spawner ) But if that's the point , i mean its fine if it doesn't works much . I mean non reliable doesn't matters , it's luck dependencies that they can do break a record . That's the only point breaker . With enough luck , it could do fast enough to break a record . Who knows that someone will prove this harsh difficult .
@@xbertron The problem with the Mace is that even in Set Seed it's hard to get, since you need to defeat a trial omen vault, and then have only a ~5% chance of getting a heavy core Also it would be useless against the Elder Guardian
i'm mostely worried about the possiblility of new items being so much better than everything else that i end up feeling like i have to use the new items, even if the alternatives are more fun, like the elyra, i always feel like i have to use the elytra because it is so much better than everything else, but using the elytra just makes mobility boring to me, the extreme mobility it offers with a downside that i can get rid of by equipping a chestplate, it just makes the game boring to me, i don't even notice the terrain when i just fly over it, i'm worried that the mace may be the weapon version of an item you have to use because it is so much better than everything else
@jackflican6037 well yes and no, since wind burst enchant no longer launches you in the air when you hit mobs while on ground, the mace needs either wind charges or uneven terrain to be effective and it can only kill 1 mob despite its op damage, swords are genualy better for facing groups and are often times faster at killing mobs cuz you don't have to wind charge up with a sword to kill a mob
with weapon strong as this, i expect big difficulty curve from next content update. End update? Deep dark Ancient city portal-world? there must be something very tough for mace to have a use
To be fair u could just ban the mace or prevent it from being used which fixes all the problems and is probably mojangs only argument to the PvP community
The reason why items like the shulker box, totems, elytras, villager trading, any automatic farm, end crystals, etc are annoying for pvp is because they aren’t designed with pvp in mind. They are designed to help builders, redstoners, and explorers be more efficient, or help the reinforce that Minecraft is a Sandbox game, not a combat game. If any of the items from what I listed got nerfed in any way for the sake of improving combat, there would be an immediate outcry in the community because the combat sub-community is smaller than the other aspects of Minecraft.
As one of the first vanilla crystal pvpers. I can sufficiently say that no matter what weapon you add into Minecraft, people will find ways to use it and exploit it to its maximum potential. For example: the wind charges were introduced but no one really expected that, people would be using them to elytra boost, or to jump 20 or even 30 blocks high. Once those greedy pvpers get their gruby hands on any new mechanic they will find a use for it.
Remember when mending was announced? How people complained it will ruin Minecraft? Or when Netherite was announced? Or the time we got the texture change in 1.14?
Yeah, mending specifically is bad not because it's strong but because it's not fun. Mob grinders for max enchants are already bad enough, but completely stepping on the toes of the anvil and repair mechanics and durability in general instead of trying to make the repair mechanic more fun was a bandaid fix. Ultimately it's not the end of the world but it does trivialize a part of the game that was once pretty central to survival mode.
@@TwentySeventhLetter Without mending i would use raid farm to gain emerald and buy diamond tools from villagers. Without raid farm i would cure villagers, do few traids and then also buy daymond tool. You could nerf lot of stuff and exploit, but then you dictate players how they should play. Its sandbox game. Let people do whatever they want. If someone dont like mending just dont use it... I personally dont care about mending.
@@mistrdavid I'm talking from a very broad design perspective, so I acknowledge that, as a bandaid, it's still definitely stopping a lot of bleeding. I still think even mojang themselves would agree that it's not the ideal solution and that given the time and resources required to prioritize coming up with something better, that they'd absolutely be able to do so. I don't have to love it to appreciate it in the big picture, and it's obviously way easier to find a problem than its solution, but yeah I get that the problems associated with mending don't exist in a vacuum.
@@TwentySeventhLetter When i think about that more. You are actually right, because there is really not alternative for mending at the moment. With the mace. You really dont need to use it. You could use different weapons. You could ban it. Same with totems. But i could see that there is problem with mending. There is not alternative for mending. Its either lose items or use mending. Anvils work only few times.
as much as i know notch is controversial i am sure that he'd approve of this weapon since he is a huge TF2 fan and this weapon is pretty much the market gardener from TF2. Like TF2 has the Top Notch hat which is specifically made for him so i guess its over a decade late but Minecraft has essentially a tf2 weapon.
(I went on a rant) Anyone who protests against the Mace as "destroying PVP" has likely A: not done any PVP practice in any mode involving a shield/pearls or B: not practiced using the Mace in PVP (and therefore doesn't know how to use wind charges alongside it). The Mace's strength comes from being able to one shot players, but if you get two players who are using shields, pearls, wind charges and Maces with the Wind Charge 1 enchantment (or higher, though preferably 1 because like with Knockback 2 for Netherite Armour, Wind Charge 3 makes you too far away from your enemy to be effective), it very quickly becomes extremely difficult to actually kill your opponent. For example, when you hit someone with a wind charge 1 mace, you go up into the air. If they stand completely still and essentially let you kill them, it's really easy to kill them. Even more so if you use wind charges to gain height like a big jump as you approach them. But obviously they're going to be trying to kill you too. So, you can't risk just charging at each other because you could easily die. Instead, you need to try to make sure that you're able to hit them while falling and avoid their hits while they're falling, and suddenly it becomes very difficult because of how Wind Charges and the Wind Charge enchantment on the Mace work (you can technically fly infinitely so long as you have infinite wind charges, because if you hit a wind charge's hitbox with the wind charge 1+ mace, it applies the effect and you go up. If you time your clicks while offhanding windcharges, you can fly). So, let's say you both gain height and are using ender pearls and wind charges as well as regular running on the ground to dodge each other's hits. And now, add a shield in there, meaning you'd need to make sure you time an Axe hit to disable it and then extremely quickly swap to the Mace to get the height damage stat, or get behind them (easier said than done with low height jumps, and one of the only times where extreme height can be useful, as your opponent might be guessing where you land incorrectly). Extremely difficult. And, finally, remember that you take fall damage and can easily die if you're not paying attention just from dropping out of the sky. Suddenly, Mace PVP becomes very complex and difficult to master, and fairly easy for people who don't know how to fight with Maces to counter them. I'd argue that Mace PVP currently is more mechanically complex than the most simple gamemode of Sword (protection 2 diamond armour + sword, and there's about 20 pages worth of tactics and mechanics written in the MCTiers affiliated PVP Guide server on Sword alone), Diamond Potion (Sword but with health, speed and strength potions), Netherite Potion (Diamond Potion but with maxxed Netherite gear, golden apples, 3 fire resistance potions and 3 totems, and bottles of enchanting for your mending armour) or SMP (Netherite Potion, except you have one totem, a KB1 sword, no health potions, an Axe and a shield and 3 stacks of enderpeals), leaving only UHC, Axe and Crystal as more mechanically complicated (and of course, in terms of actual difficulty, it depends half on the mechanics and half on how good the competition is, which is why Diamond Pot has been one of the hardest modes in the past at the higher levels - given the insane reception that Mace has had in the PVP Community so far (with the unofficial tierlist discord gaining 1000 members in only 10 days), I expect that this could be the case for Mace PVP, if it gets added as an official gamemode to MCTiers, which seems very possible for when 1.21 comes out). For the point about elytra momentum, while yes it's difficult to do due to considerations of aim and avoiding dying yourself to momentum/the person using a well timed Mace on you, people already use the elytra for shockingly fast and effective attacks at surface level on their opponents in Crystal PVP (as can be seen in DrDonutt's "Fighting Every Crystal PVP Tier" video in the last fight against Marlowww). However, the problem with this is that your opponent can again, just dodge (or, if you can't shield break fast enough, they can just block the hit with a shield). It is definitely possible. The Mace, as a gamemode, is like Crystal in that it is completely unique and mechanically different to other gamemodes. But that doesn't make it any worse or easier. When you say "Crystal PVP was a big thing", maybe change that to "continues to be a big thing". Many SMPs ban Crystal PVP (or as it's known in the PVP community, Vanilla, because it's the max gear and weapons for vanilla). But, some of the largest public SMPs, such as DonutSMP, are Crystal/Anchor based. And, furthermore, the tierlist discord server for Vanilla has over 80,000 members, making it an absolute mammoth of a server. Crystal PVP is the hardest by far, outmatching its second and third most difficult, UHC (which has many utilities and requires great aim and timing for both the utilities and for your basic melee, and Axe (Axe due to the nature of the gamemode is very easy to lose rounds in, even to lesser skilled players). And, Crystal is unique, separate from all other gamemodes because of how mechanically different it is. Given the little amount of time I've put into PVP practice for Mace, it's looking like it'll be the same thing. Also on the note about it changing Vanilla PVP. The Mace probably won't affect the strength of Crystals as much. Explosives have always been the most cost-effective weapons, and given all you need to do to kill someone will full netherite armour is hit them into the air and then placing one obsidian and placing and breaking/blowing up one crystal (which seems hard but becomes extremely easy with practice), Maces will almost certainly not become a meta weapon in Vanilla. Specifically, if someone is falling from a height, they're basically asking to be crystalled from below and killed in less than a second. Explosives do damage in all directions, but the damage downwards for Crystals is immensely reduced by the obsidian they're placed on. However, a player above that Crystal has no such protection, so all you'd need to do to kill a falling Mace player is place obsidian and "crystal" a bit (meaning, place and break a crystal a few times to make sure that any totems they have are gone/force them to swap out the Mace for totems or a shield to block the crystal damage, completely negating their attacks). Furthermore, it's standard in Vanilla to be offhanding a totem at all times, unless you're completely out, in which case you offhand nothing (a shield is not a good idea because of how fast you need to click the "use-key" or for most people, right-click - not offhanding a shield means you don't accidentally start blocking the shield when you're trying to right click a loaded respawn anchor to make it blow up, or to make sure that you can effectively use your ender pearls and don't accidentally shield instead of pearling because you right clicked before your main hand was in the slot in your hotbar with the pearls, which is a problem that has killed me in the past before I realised that I should never offhand anything in Vanilla except totems). Maces therefore will very likely not be effective in endgame Vanilla PVP with totems, Crystals and Anchors (or late-midgame with TNT minecarts). But they will be the most powerful weapon pre-explosives and in servers where explosive PVP is banned, they will be the most powerful weapon by far (they do decent damage on the ground as well as their falling one shot, so they do actually make a solid all-round weapon).
Litteraly what I thought! The mace might seem too much OP but there are too many strings attached. The most talked example in the warden but you cant one shot it without the height. Plus the warden is pretty fast as well. Anothe thing, getting the mace requires you to first get to a trial chamber, for which you need a map from a 3rd level cartographer, AND there's a very low chance of getting the heavy core. Plus the trial chambers once exhausted by one player, cant be used by the same one again. It's well thought out.
I actually like how OP the Mace is. It's not OP in a sense that you can just kill anything in one click, but it's moreso OP when executed perfectly. I don't think it should be changed at all; in fact, if they're that worried about how OP it is, they can just increase its rarity or the rarity of the materials used to craft it. That's kind of why the crafting recipe for the golden apple got removed; it was too overpowered as a crafting recipe but making it exclusive as chest loot made it much more balanced in my humble opinion.
Mojang: Makes weapon op and keeps buffing it Community: Nerf it! This is way too overkill!! Mojang: Nerfs weapon Community: OMG THEY RUINED THE ENTIRE UPDATE!
I have a few problems with the mace as of current: 1. It is straight up a substitute for the sword and it's better in every single way (even without going up in the air). There should not be a weapon that outclasses another weapon in every situation. 2. It is quite low skill. With max enchantments, you do not need to get very high for the mace to do tons of damage (and you'll just have totems anyways). Compare it to crystals or anchors, which is incredibly high skill (hit crystal, fast hotkeying, pearl flashing, etc...) 3. It is easy to get. Even though the drop rate is low on paper, any player aiming for the heavy core with a semi optimal strategy can get it within 3 hours easily. Compare that to getting materials for crystals and anchors, which usually require several farms and the items are perishable. I think it just sucks that a new, cool weapon is going to get banned on smp servers because how incredibly unbalanced it is.
the mace introduces verticality to pvp and im all for that, so far weve been strafing wtap and all that. But with the mace im excited to see what techniques the community is gonna come up with for once it shouldnt be viewed badly ya know as most people in the mc community tend to do nowadays
A mistake I made when talking during this video, I saw PhoenixSC's video on the Mace and I thought the vaults were renewable with a very long cooldown, I did not know trial keys were only renewable and not the vaults
@@cubedimensions you can kind of. the wiki says it forgets about the first player in the list when it stores over 128 of them, but i don't think anyone would do that any time soon.

The wind burst enchant can still 3 shot wardens (with density 5) , and also allows the player to escape any situation by hit the wind charge in the air. I still feel like its gonna break pvp.
that's too much and youtube will hate that, even if people stick around for the whole video, that only works for short-form videos and even that isn't doing so hot since youtube and other platforms has cracked down on that
0:44 i do agree with this, the general idea behind the mace is interesting, it gives uses to things like jump potions, which is quite interesting, the general mechanics, enchantments, and things like that of the mace are very cool, the problem is that the ideas arent that well implemented, which makes for a broken and unbalanced item. 1:02 "figured out", with quotation marks.( This a pet peeve, just to make clear ) i say this, cause not really, there isnt much figuring out to do, the item gains increasing damage based on fall, with no cap. Thats it, thats all the figuring out necessary, just the explanation of how the item works, there isnt any big strategy or anything that exploits the mechanics of the game to one-shot any mob, no, you just fall from very, very high. 1:20 well yeah, cause the mace actually breaks the game, Its a very different situation from other items that "break the game", that are strong in specific situations while also having a bunch of disadvantages. ( i removed a lot of the arguments i put to explain this statement, dont want this to be TOO big to read ) 3:22 that would be a GREAT argument, if not for a few factors 1. unless you are using third party software, the end crystal gives a lot of time and noise to react to, be it to get a totem out and tank the damage or other methods of damage mitigation like the shield, or simply, blocks/distance/height. while for the mace you can easily use things, like shift, invisibility potions and things like that to get close to a target, fall, and kill them before they can even react, its not fair from a pvp perspective, the other guy doesnt get a fighting chance, it gives you a very big first hit that can either end the fight by itself or just put it heavily in your favor, while the same does not apply to the end crystal, as i said it gives alot of time and noise, not only that but it also fucks both targets, the guy breaking it and the target. 2. the end crystals can be countered by a bunch more things( distance, blocks in between, if it hits your lower hitbox or not, etc). The same doesnt exactly apply to the mace, specially cause its alot sneakier, so not only less factors to protect you against it, less time to use those factors 3.There is also things like mending and unbreaking which make the mace last essentially forever, and getting a single mace doesnt equate to getting hundreds of end crystals, since each end crystal is single use, and you use dozens of them in a single end crystal fight, at least if both parties know what they are doing, one is clearly harder and more expensive. 4.also the height argument is a bit of a non-argument, height is very easy to gain, pearls, jump boost, blocks, elytra, tridents, terrain, wind charges, and a bunch of other shit, not only that the mace does not require a lot of height either, the mace itself without any enchantments just a jump boost II potion, can do as much damage as a NETHERITE SHARPNESS V AXE, while also having the attack speed of a sword, btw thats without enchantments, and thats also from just a 2.5 blocks fall, with a 3 blocks fall you can oneshot an unarmored player, and with a 17 blocks fall you can one shot a player that has full netherite prot IV armor, lets not forget, thats without any enchantments. 5. Height becomes way less important the more enchantments you have since, density increases the amount of damage per block fallen, ie less height, same damage. thats the thing, the mace already was op before it was announced that it would have access to any enchantments, and now it has access to the best ones in the game. 3:31 this is why math is important kids - warden has 500 health points - the mace does (3 * number of blocks fallen + 7) * 1.5 damage with a crit, - to kill the warden we would need to fall 109 blocks(501 damage), that is, if the mace has no enchantments, in that case, yeah, it would be impossible to one shot a warden underground. Problem is the mace has enchantments - with density V, the formula becomes ( 8 * number of blocks fallen + 7 ) * 1.5, damage with a crit - that way you only need to fall 41 blocks(502.5 damage) to one shot a warden, and although that is a bit harder to pull off, with the high ceilling of ancient cities it shouldnt be impossible to pull off, not only that you can even go as far as to reduce the number of blocks necessary if you have wind burst and prefer to two shot or three shot an warden either way, you dont need more than 30 or so blocks of height to kill an warden with the mace, if you have the right enchantments that is, which is far more than feasible. 3:44, multiple, specially wiith enchantments, i would go as far as to say it probably will kill the sword, the axes only survive cause they deactivate shields reason being: 1. IT HAS THE BEST ENCHANTMENTS IN THE GAME: high amounts of damage already negate/reduce the effectiveness of armor( with toughness being responsible of fighting back against that ), and not only the mace can dish out the most damage, it also has BREACH, a enchantment that can reduce armor effectiveness by 60% It also has fire aspect which goes around armor too and density, that increases the ludicrous speed at which the mace accumulates damage even further. remember how a unenchanted mace needs 17 blocks to kill a full prot IV netherite player? Just with density V, it needs about 7 to 6.5 blocks to one-shot a full netherite prot IV player, 6.5 FUCKING blocks. and thats just density, no breach, no wind burst, no fire aspect, nothing like that. then you remember that jump boots allows you to get as high as 2.5 blocks, then you also have wind burst which allows you to chain smash attacks, then there is wind charges, tridents, etc... in general the item is very easy to use, specially in pvp, and you dont need to get any crazy heights with it either, its a very practical item. 4:02 mate, the ender dragon has 200 health, you fall from 16 blocks with density V and its gone, i think thats probably easier to do and less risky than to carefully place and use beds to kill it, but again i can kinda of agree with you there, the mace one-shotting the dragon isnt that big of a problem. 4:12 16 blocks, for the ender dragon, 6.5 for a full prot IV netherite player, not that big of a distance 4:30, good that you mention not having experience with pvp, it shows. thats a bad strategy in general, cause you dont need alot of height to do ludicrous amounts of damage, specially if the target doesnt have top notcht defense, so in a bunch of situations there is simply not enough time, distance nor terrain to build the roof and although there a shields, jump boost II potions allow for quick killing without much time to react to, combine that with a axe, and the other guy is fucked, since you need about 5, if not less, crits from a density V mace with jump boost II to kill a full netherite prot IV player 4:40, they also tend to be far costier and riskier than a mace( specially with feather falling, protection, armor, wind charges, and the mace itself) 5:20, the mace might straight up fuck the pvp scene even harder, since its not harder than a end crystal to use, nor does it require a lot of skill either, it also will probably become meta, the only reason i say might, is cause the end crystal is quite good at dealing against the mace. Also i dont see how this type of thing brings popularity long term to the game, its not that great for the health of pvp, neither is it for pve 6:00 they most likely will just go in and end crystal pvp people, the end crystal wins against the mace(maybe?), the disadvantage it has is that its more expensive 7:00 i could very easily explain why none of those are equal to the mace, but this already far too long 7:25, its going to change the game by a lot, that i can guarantee you.
Ironically take a look at the date on this video, I call him out for being part of that group with an admin, and guess what, in his most recent video guess who gave him exclusive information on the people who had the one glitch that could track anyone on 2b2t, of course his group that he had joined back in 2017, and he doesn't mention he was ever a part of it.
For once, someone seems to understand that even if the mace is op, there is very simple counter play to it, good to see Here are a few plays i can name off the top of my head List of things that negate the mace: Potion of slow falling Cobwebs Literally any good punch 2 arrow shot while the player is in midair Potion of the turtle master (should work) Chasing them into the air via elytra so they don’t get the big drop on you Riptide 3 trident to also chase em into the air for the same reason Totem of undying Literally using WASD and the spacebar…
if mojang is gonna make the mace as strong as a ender crystal, they should at least make the trials at least difficult so they can't get it in early game quickly with iron armor.
The mace is also very rare, if you want to get a heavy core you must find a trial chamber, beat an ominous trial, get an ominous trial key and unlock an ominous vault and you still have a 8.4% chance of getting one. I once went to 4 different trial chambers just to get 1 heavy core. I think the mace is supposed to be like a nice reward after beating the game because, realistically, who is doing all of that just to get a mace they cant even use to its full potential if they dont have an elytra.
3:25, not really. With Wind Burst you can just start a crit out of thin air and get yeeted high enough into the air to 1 shot a maxed player if you have a maxed mace Plus you only need to get one with mending then you can use it over and over. The main problem with it is that unlike crystals and anchors, the mace requires no real skill or strategy to use
Lag machines yet get rightfully banned or it’s anarchy and any meaningful lag machines get removed and are hard to build! Totems if undying ok so what how dose you have a totem of undying effect me if I don’t wish to kill you wish I don’t on the sane server? It doesn’t! Elytra’s the only people upset with those things that people actually want are those upset they believe that will be the reason minecarts are not faster and how dose you have an elytra effect me? There not used in combat much well that was till the nave came out. End crystals so they not only need obsidian but to be level with your feet once the explosion happens. You also can blocked it with your shield so not nearly as broken as you might think! The whole argument about a feature might be broken anyways just used in unintentional ways so who care if we add in something that’s broken by design BULLSHIT OF AN EXCUSE! BULLSHIT! That’s like saying well he you might have died in a car crash the next day should really be in trouble for shooting him? It’s like the uncertainty of a broken mechanic and therefore it’s unintentional use or the certainty of its brokenness which feature should you try and add? NO NOT THE BROKEN ONE NO EXCUSES! I used to LOVE 1.21 the dogs the new banner patterns for crying out loud new banner patterns people. However there is one item that this without a doubt the single worst update to Minecraft it has ever had worse than 1.16 (don’t get me started the nether was hell and should not have been livable) worse than them removing custom worlds. Worse than phantoms worse than the original combat update worse than the wondering trader (ok wondering trader Uris pretty good actually) no no no the mace alone makes ones of the otherwise best Minecraft updates into the single worst update Minecraft has ever done by a long shot not even close! You have full netherite armor enchants and all you have a fully enchanted netherite sword and then you mess up once and don’t see someone standing on a treetop fall down and kill you in a single hit making it impossible for you to have blocked the attack that kills you or your in a cave and they drop down or they just have an elytra! You get hit once and you die no hope of stoping them fully enchanted netherite armor down the drain! For theses very reasons the mace makes one of the best Minecraft update into the worst update by far it’s not even close and there have not been a single credible reason as to why the mace is good or at least should not even be hated on with all my might just for being added!
Great video (: cool to see your Channel grow, good luck getting monetized also I think maze doesn't really fit into Minecraft it just makes Minecraft more unbalanced Speed running is going to be on a whole new level with maze and PVP also flying with Ely and 1 taping is op as well as with wind charges or comboing someone with the new Enchantment for maze im also watching your Videos on normal speed (: Keep it up!
Thank you so much, and, hopefully we will get approved, we are at 5k hours however youtube needs time to "recognize" the full 5k hours over the next couple days however I can apply earlier when I get to 3k hours, which I am almost there
I don't believe the mace is renewable. There are a finite number of vaults to open per trial chamber, and the chances of getting one is slim. It's like saying the silence armor trim is renewable. That is to say, it isn't renewable unless you have infinite players willing to give you all the loot they get from vaults.
I made an error in the video then, I am sorry, I thought the vault blocks were renewable, my mistake was that I thought both trial spawners and vault blocks are renewable, it's only the ability to get the keys
@@cubedimensions it's ok! In fact, I think it's great news that the mace isn't renewable. Vaults being able to open once per player is a great way to balance the item. It's a really fun mechanic. I really liked your video though, keep up the good work ❤️
3:27 I saw a video of someone flying into the air with nothing but the mace and a wither, i saw another one that used Wind Charges to go up by hitting the entity in the air.
Can we also talk about how the mace isn’t a mace it’s a hammer A mace dosnt smash it bludgeons I like the wind aspect to the weapon but making it basically a walking anvil is horrible
i totally disagree with the points in this video. ive tried the mace myself with a couple friends (im a pvper if that qualifies as knowing balance) and its extremely easy to get height with the wind enchantment, you hit him once on ground level and youre already at enough height to one shot them. "building a roof" isnt an actual strategy as you dont really have enough time to build it in the moment and the enemy can hit you from the side, but i agree the mace is useless in an environment where there is a limited amount of space above you. and the point that a lot of people say is that its hard to hit the enemy. its not. i tried it, i can get it consistently and its not that hard. if you can water bucket mlg you can hit people with the mace. and if you miss then you lose 3-4 hearts of fall damage if you have feather falling, which isnt much risk if the reward is popping a totem/killing someone. On the surface ive tried multiple strategies, and the best one is to straight up just pearl away from the player when hes high up. so the meta is gonna be extremely defensive. now about crystals, yeah crystals are still stronger (crystals are single use arguement is dumb, just get 2 stacks of obby and crystals in youre inv, and some back ups in the shulker and youll already have enough for a fight and can gear up till the next one), but undoubtatly break the game in an unintended way. most servers ban crystal bc theyre too strong and a lot of people dont enjoy playing crystal. if mace stays broken like this i can only think it would have the same fate, which is sad cuz i actually think its fun to play. "mace is difficult to get" i agree. but. its also very luck based. so you technically can get an OP weapon early on and dominate the server. and players are eventually gonna find the mace so pvp on the server is gonna be mace pvp (if crystals are banned) and the point that "other things in the game are OP, so the mace isnt OP" makes no sense to me. other op items (pvp perspective) were used passively, elytra to be evasive, totem to be defensive etc. but now an aggressive 1 shot weapon that was added intentionally? i dont get it. saying the mace is balanced just isnt true, its gonna make any fight based on "who can get the first mace hits" and if its with totems its "who can get the most mace hits" which seems fine if you look at it that way, but that leads to a defensive meta, and gets rid of any other strategy in the game, and the previous core way to play pvp, which was either winning by quickdropping someone (winning an interaction before they were able to run away and/or heal) or until they run out of materials like gapples or experience bottles. now its just whoever runs out of totems and the rest doesnt matter. pvp had a good structure, and now all of it got disrupted by the mace and how the mace will be played. but it probably wont matter cuz itll likely get banned on most servers just like crystals. also this isnt like hate or anything i just disagree with saying that the mace is balanced when it just isnt.
opinion accepted, if it's easy for you to use, it's easy for you to use, I personally think people will come up with better defenses to the mace, and one of the main defenses is the totem, however it's probably easier to get up close to someone and place down tons of crystals than it is to build up momentum to use the mace over and over.
@@cubedimensions i agree with crystals being better, but crystals are banned on most pvp based servers, meaning that the mace is the next best thing. and its not that hard to get momentum with the mace, wind charge is a very easy way to get good height, tridents, elytras, pearling up and then activating the pearl with a wind charge is a pretty cool trick. theres a lot of ways to break the game in order to get height quickly, not to mention the wind burst enchantment basically shooting you up when hitting your enemy, so you dont even need to use those other tricks most of the time. and i think the skill needed to hit your enemy with the mace isnt as high as people think totem is a good defense, but you will run out of them eventually
@@miaudadodidadaddeldidadoof6118 Theres still cart pvp, Which, if you have a lot of reflex and skill, would be able to cart whoever's trying to jump at you. The mace would definitely be insane if you could "assassinate" someone like assassins creed. (I only said that for some example) Active pvp wise, the mace is not gonna help
@@thechefwhodoesntcook8233 i disagree, but i havent tested it yet so i may be wrong, but from my testing, it doesnt look like carts are gonna do much, cuz mace player is gonna be in the air most of the time, making it difficult to cart them, and most of the time not in range for the cart to do enough to pop them. i just feel like mace is too evasive to be countered by cart, especially with wind charges + carts needing a lot of inventory space + when its a mace fight, its gonna be a lot of popping totems no matter what, so even if you get a good cart hit, you still need to get them again in short time which is even more difficult and very dependent on the situation. keep in mind, if the strategy is being close to the mace player to cart them, then the mace player is be close to hit you
@@miaudadodidadaddeldidadoof6118 That's my point. while the player is nearly on ground, he can easily get carted within a second (if the opponent is good). Since you probably haven't played cart pvp, correct me if im wrong, Let me explain. So if your opponent is the same block as the cart and lets say atleast 3 blocks away, it won't do much. If they are one block away they'll probably get REALLY low or pop a totem, which is when you would start critting them out. Now, If you are ABOVE the tnt minecart, Same thing, you'll probably pop a totem. The strategy for cart pvp is to pop their totem (or straight up kill them) and then start mass critting while they're trying to re heal. When you pop a totem, you don't insta heal, those extra hearts and regen arent enough to continue the fight, what most pvpers do, is run a way a bit, then heal with golden apples. Now to the inventory part, You really only need atleast 5 TnT minecarts, flame bow, and potions. My point is that, the mace needs height to kill someone, even with those enchants. So, while jumping, it would take considerable amount of time for them to hit you and the ground. (a few seconds) You can knock them back with a knock back sword and therefore they won't be able to hit you. (Just thought of this other thing, where if you splash a slow falling potion on the mace user, they'll be super easy to kill)
Actually, they probably won't be. Getting the heavy core in order to even craft the Mace is entirely dependent on RNG, so the chances of it being incorporated into speed runs is very low. It would be faster to do it the old fashioned way using beds then to try and get lucky enough to get a heavy core.
@@SpadesG Yes, but from what I know about speedrunning, the best ways to do it are to negate rng entirely. There's no way to do that in order to get the mace. Its not worth the hassle to even attempt.
i think ur underestimating the pvp community lol. you can look up tierlist players who are already practicing ungodly hours with the mace and posting clips of it. even with just a bit of practice it is really not hard to instakill with the mace with enchantments, elytra, wind charges, etc. crystal is the only other viable survival pvp method, but it will be almost useless once people get months or years of practice with the mace.
@@lopthello8356 yea also in an actual combat scenario, no way your opponent is even gonna allow you to get a 4+ block fall on em at all, if anything the opponent will realistically do everything to NOT give you the advantage
Notice how all those exploited items you listed (end crystal, anchor and totems) are banned or limited on almost every pvp server? Same thing will happen to the mace unless its a mace focused server
the fact people think this item is balanced, is insane, i will go further into this soon enough, just not in the mood right now to write an essay just to fully explain how idiotic this item is
If you dont like mace just dont use it. I personally feel the crafter is too easy to get. And what i gonna do about that. I dont know yet. Maybe i gonna add to warden loot or trial chamber.
@@leggotheeggodemon1323 definitely easier than low tech autocrafter or autocraftingdropper. In new crafter you don't need dummy items and you can stack. Which makes it easier. I just don't want to get this item immediately. For allay sorter I need to catch allay first. 😅 Also I don't gonna use it that much probably. Only for droppers and few pain to craft recipes. And then for making block variants...
@@leggotheeggodemon1323 I don't feel it gonna break the game. My sand duper definitely breaks game so much more. I just want some challenge to get it. That's all.
Hey so Minecraft Xbox one edition was updated yesterday I think and it let people thinking for the return of Minecraft for your next video do you think you can give us information cus I really want to know thanks :)
I think the mace should at least have a damage capacity at some point and an enchantment (maybe density) that allows you to extend that capacity and deal more damage the higher you go.
Yeah imo giving it a hardcap, or even softcap, of about 50 seems appropriate while still making it incredibly intimidating, but I guess we'll see how the balance of it lands long term
so mojang is allowed to add broken weapons but when people compare modders to vanilla then it's a feature? since when bugs and glitches are considered a feature???? mojang when modders add a bunch of not broken weapons: cry on twatter because balancing is hard mojang when they add broken and bugged weapon: it's a feature hypocrisy just spews out so bad, not to mention they added more stuff in a joke update than in vanilla, Microsoft buying minecraft was truly the worst possible thing they could do
Mace isn't even that broken honestly. It's a high risk high reward weapon. What if you miss? Sure, water bucket or totem, but it takes some amount of skill to use the mace effectively. Also, like you said, the probability of hitting something from 100 blocks high in a real combat situation is low. If people have a problem with the mace then they might as well complain about crystal pvp, or axes disabling shields. Every weapon has their own purpose and style. Not every weapon has to be weak and boring.
if they added a weapen like the mace earlier, we maybe never wouldve gotten cpvp, first hackers used it, until ppl wanted to learn the mode cuz it was the only thing that could take out a player with maxed out netherite and a totem in litterly a second, now ppl on server will just use some terrain and jump from a 5 block height 1 shotting anybody
@@zixvirzjghamn737 called a d-tap, also yeh shields wow no way. shield delay is dreadfull and u can just easily get shield disabled, only way ur truely immortalis when ur in ur inventry and have a totem in main and offhand
You are correct but still with the enchantments you can 1 shot a Protection IV Netherite armor player from a 4 to 5 block jump, so the real problem is in the enchantments.
In my opinion I think this weapon is a mess, I know that mojang Already added a lot of Overpowered items but it's not an excuse for them to add more, at least end crystals are expensive to make and obsidian takes a lot of time to mine which makes crystal pvp expensive af, and elytras are some end game items and it's pretty hard to fly in a middle of a fight while someone is constantly hitting u, I agree with ur totem point, they are pretty over powered and the worst thing is they're farmable, but still the mace is a mess, and u don't really have to use an elytra to gain momentum, u can just use a jump boost 2 potion or a wind charge, which is not one shot I know but it can deal a ton of damage and with some enchantments u can basically kill anything, and u can just build a tower up and just jump on top of the warden to one shot him, same thing with the wither, and I know u can just trap the wither to kill him but those are glitches that should be patched and the mace is not a glitch , it's something everyone can get , I honestly want them to just nerf it a bit and instead buff the Trident and the crossbow by adding more enchantments to them.
I feel like Mojang gotta stop being shackled by Microsoft to "play it safe" And "Not have endangered hostile mobs" because somethings new are for way too specific reasons and dont make the game fun
honestly its a good update, havent had a really good update since 1.18 and this looks promising as there havent been a revamp to pvp since 1.9 which was released 3 years after i first started playing the game
