The Hutts were cruel and malicious, and no doubt that they would love nothing more than to rule the Galaxy the way they rule a criminal empire, brutally and cruelly.
@@charion1234 probably more trouble than it was worth at the time. Most likely would have been on the chopping block after he dealt with the rebels and left over Jedi; probably with the Death Star
The Outer Rim is more like the Wild West. Hutt Space is more like a high-tech version of the Arab traders before the West stomped the slave trade down crossed with Las Vegas.
These are my favorite types of videos, and I wished Boba Fett covered the scale of the criminal syndicate that Jabba truly controlled. Instead they just focused on the smallest parts of one city on Tatooine.
And we got garbage, more garbage, hamfisted Mando, Ashoka, Luke. Not to mention that the twins ran away from the Pyke syndicate, because "war is bad for business". Like, you don't need to look for a better example of the writers not understanding the source material.
What could scare the second greatest hedonists in the galaxy enough to isolate it from everyone? My guess is some sort of sleeping Lovecraftian monster.
@@davidjones341 just plain glass every single one of their worlds one by one until they capitulate, then execute every single one of them by incineration, a little taste of their own cruelty
Also can you IMAGINE being a Rakata on Varl when your force powers and technology stop working? Snake lick muscle hutts moving around like nightmare naga people. Getting impaled on T'Landa Til horns.
@@shaydowsith348 A never ending weapons and vehicle factory supplied by the dark side of the force along with billions if not trillions of slaves to fight for you, along with incredibly powerful dark side infused Rakatan warriors.
im pretty sure that in one or two of those heavily guarded planets they hide really advance technology, and some powerful jedi and sith artefacts...maybe thinking "if we cant use these objects to our purposes, then no one can"
"They turned it into a nature preserve." Hutts never struck me as Day The Earth Stood Still types "So they could hunt the locals for sport." Aaaaaah there we go.
I’m hoping we’ll see more of the Hutt Syndicates again, but on a larger scale. They are one of the species and organization that is never fully shown. And even seeing the Hutt Space would be incredible.
Considering they had beena slave race themselves under the Rakatan Infinite Empire, I guess they got really vengeful after the IE fell and...became oppressors themselves.
Could you do a video on the Hutt military ( security forces...whatever it's called)? Because looking at the Hutts, they must have some sort of aces up their sluggy sleeves to not have Galatic Powers decide the galaxy is better off without their antics, and go on a liberating spree in their domain. Seeing as nobody has done that for a long while after a buncha jerkisk crusaders gave it a try and failed, they must have some sort of powerful deterrents to utilize. So is one of them a Hutt military?
I really like the concepts used for Hutt politics and economics they remind me of a hybrid of the mafia cartel and China when it came to strip mining and production with no regulations which the republic took advantage of by trading with them!
If the Hutts start taking a more proactive role in the Book of Boba Fett Season 2, we might see some of this stuff, or we might see it in the Bad Batch Season 2 if they explore more of the criminal underground.
I would rather see less Hutts in Star Wars though. Not that much into the underworld aspects of fiction as a whole, too grimy, dirty, and even nihilistic with downer endings galore.
@@michaelandreipalon359 Well, we'd be following heroes in these two shows so the endings I image would be more positive. Like the Zygerian arc from The Clone Wars Season 4. That was pretty dark, but had a decently happy ending with the four greatest Jedi ever: Obi-Wan, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Plo Koon, along with their Clones saving all those people from slavery.
They'd do the galaxy a favor, but the major issue is the Hutt Cartel are a large portion of the galactic economy...so the Empire wohld have a massive depression or something similar as a result.
Can you PLEASE do a video on comparing Darth Revan, and Grand Admiral Thrawn, in terms of tactical genius? Maybe put them against each other in a hypothetical space battle?
Something this doesn't cover is the difference between the Treaty of Vontor species and some of the other Hutt slaves. The three Vontor species saw the Hutts as gods for uplifting them 25000 or so years ago. That was true in both canons, but started to break down more and more. In NuCanon Leia a mere slave girl killing Jabba was a big catalyst, but in Legends the Hutts failing to protect a Klatooinian sacred site was the big trigger.
Bro I'm just commenting because I've been watching this channel for a couple years, and been watching The Front for several months and am just now realizing YOURE BOTH CHANNELS 🤯
Man, I'd love an animated story about the Ancient Hutts/Hutt Empire. Live action would be better but animation seems more likely, however unlikely it is that a story would even be produced for a show lol
It's actually a pretty clever move to choose underworld crime as your means of power. Empires and those who rule them come and go, but whether you live in a peaceful free society or an iron-fist imperial dominion, a criminal underworld will always persist, especially in a galaxy that spans across light-years.
5:39 6:11 The book that labeled that "Shell hutt armor" made a mistake. That is Ancient Hutt war armor. Shell Hutt armor is one big cylinder that floats around like a vehicle. Hutt war armor has repulsorlifts but as you can see it has an articulated tail. Shell Hutts also weren't strong they were even MORE gluttonous than normal hutts. Though many of their pods had big mechanical pincer arms.
Normally, people would be bugged with this in mind, but I actually like the tenacity and lore knowledge that you have. Won't be surprised if said SW knowledge is bigger than even mine and Geetsly's.
I want to see a fit Hutt fight so badly, i imagine they would be quite fast with their snake body and large size closing the gap fast and just having this giant wall of blubber and muscle
I'm doing a table top SW5e campaign set in 1000bby Nar Shaddaa based on legends info plus my own imagination. Gonna record audio for it. I'll post it in this chat to the youtube channel.
Nal Hutta was shown, albeit brief, in the Clone Wars. Obi Wan Kenobi was posing as a bounty hunter and helped Cad Bane and a Separatist escape but their ship crashed
They realized that war only destroys, to truly build something you have to be willing to not fight. So they do that by making peace, establishing markets and exploiting resources through lopsided trade. That they have the warships to back them up means they can choose not to use them.
As someone who loved the Han Solo novels, much props for your description and visuals of Ylesia! I wish the Han Solo film honored The Paradise Snare rather than do its own thing.
Honestly the only Hutt worlds I knew about before this video were Nar Shaddaa, Hal Hutta and Nar Kreeta (and I knew about Kreeta from that mission in Jedi Academy where you have to rescue merchants from the rancor maze).
I'm very curious as to what one earth the hutts could be hiding on those planets that not even they would dare step foot on there's got to be some info somewhere
the fact that both the republic and the empire left them mostly alone, is proof of their power. sure, the republic could probably have pulled off a massive invasion, if they had an army the size of the GAR. and the fact that they were slavers and criminal enterprises would make them a prime target for policing actions. and the empire could have invaded to conquer and rule with the fear as they usually did, they also did not, except for a small part in the very north of the territory the fatc that it wasn't done despite all that happened there, only speaks that they were powerful enough to deter such actions
Kinda weird how the galaxy is only one star system tall and that's there a north, south, east and west. There are no star systems stacked on top of each other. They're all side by side.
Why did the banking clan, trade federation, techno union and other corporate powers support a war, they were already wealthy, powerful and influential and it seems to be in their best interest in keeping the status quo, instead of relying on unpredictable wars that clearly painted them as the bad guys (even the most major companies can fall with enough bad press). Look what happened during the clone wars as an example, the banking clans were forced to flee their home world to scipio and later nationalized, this only happened that to the uncertainty of war and the other major corporate powers also had their own losses.
Ylesia... uhhhh even now that planet makes me shudder... I remember reading about it as a kid and I honestly think it might have contributed to my atheism lol
Upon seeing the Hutt Space like this, this begs the question why would the Sith Empire wanted to share borders with the Hutts instead of trying to annex it. After all, the Sith do not like sharing anything with anyone and for the Hutts to do the same things the Sith can do is what got me curious. Sure, the Sith may not invaded out of kindness of hearts. But the war between the Hutts and the Sith will definitely greatly weakened the Hutts in the end if total annihilation policy of the certain worlds in the Hutt Space is approved by the Dark Council.
Opening a second front with the entire hutt cartel instead of some randos on a dumb world like Makeb is suicide. Hell, the Hutts were probably the main enforcers of the treaty that paused the war for a while there. Because the Cold War meant they could sell just as many weapons in the rearmament but they'd also be able to sell other things and not have their clients blown up.
These are the kinds of stories and information that made the Extended Universe of Star Wars so interesting. You don’t get this with Disney Cannon sadly. :/
I think you slow down the audio of your vocals in your videos sometimes and I physically cannot watch them unless I turn up the speed of the video to 1.25.
